Anti-Cheat is unreliable, very glitchy, and laggy. While yes we do have hackers on a daily basis, it is not out of staff's way to come to kitpvp and gather proof.

 

Meepcraft economy is bad because Minecraft economy is bad.

Minecraft doesn't require to to buy necessities such as food, water, laundry detergent, clothes, and other stuff. Because of this, everyone would rather sell an item than buy it.

We can fix this problem by eliminating infinite supply infinite demand shops such as /warp shop, which damages the economy because it destroys and creates money instead of exchanging it.

 

Your hard work and leadership was always under recognized in my opinion, I was always rooting for you to be able to take on bigger and better things. You were always there pushing for new things to happen, like reviving The MeepCraft Times, but rarely were they ever able to take off. I saw those efforts, and I can definitely empathize with what you've described. You were always one of the most positive forces on the team, and you will be sorely missed. It was such a privilege to work alongside you!!

Hello again!

It's been five years since I applied for staff. I was a young'un and a gamer who had no regard for real life. I am now a junior in college studying business, hoping to major in Data Science and Marketing in 2022. A PANDEMIC has happened, I turned 20, got cheated on, and Metr0n0me now has a girlfriend (unrelated).

Five years later and what goes around comes around! I am living at home with my parents and taking things slow with online school. I run three clubs (which doesn't sound like a lot, but it is), and one of them so happens to be the Minecraft club at my university. We built our entire campus in Minecraft and are even expanding to the nearby areas. It's another community I've felt at home with, just like Meep was for me once before. I've hit some high of highs and DEFINITELY the lowest of lows that I've ever felt, as the pandemic has kept me inside and got me questioning my existence. But I'm still optimistic that the world is huge and there's a lot out there for me. I've come a long way, and I know it wouldn't have happened the same way if I hadn't discovered Meep.

I know Meep has gone through a few changes as well. I'm sad to hear about CK leaving staff (thank you for all your hard work, bud) but I'm also enthused that Dungeons has returned, revamped and functioning. Dungeons was literally the first thing that I knew how to play on Meep, so it has a very special place in my heart.

Hello, this is thread disucssing the recent reimplemenation of “unmoderated” party chat by Meepcraft staff.

Recently, Meepcraft staff brought back a feature which allowed muted players to speak in party chat and informed players that party chat was “completely unmoderated”. I think many players thought this was a good idea as it allowed us to talk to our friends in game in a manner that may not be appropriate for global chat, without moderation. The issue is that a day or two after stating this, Meepcraft staff changed their statement regarding the moderation of party chat. Party chat was now “never completely unmoderated”. At the time, I didn’t have an issue with this but my mind was changed down the road when things said in party chat began being used as evidence for player punishments. There was a massive lack of clear communication from staff to inform the playerbase that party chat was in fact NOT unmoderated at all, which has led to poor consequences for the server. Certain staff members also tried to force themselves into one party by sudoing a player in this party in order to give us a ‘warning’ which consisted of telling members of the party to “stop being idiots”. This is not an appropriate way to warn players about what they’re doing and why it’s inappropriate in a chat which they believed was unmoderated!


Ultimately, party chat was removed due to misuse. This was something I was expecting. The issue I’m having is that staff are now using messages that players sent, in what they thought was an unmoderated chat, as evidence for their punishments. This is completely unfair to the players who were honestly baited into saying things that they normally wouldn’t say on the server, but did because they thought it was allowed.

It’s similar to when a policemen tells a person that they can hit them and then puts them in cuffs right after they do so.

I’m requesting that staff take the fault in this situation, due to their extremely poor communication, and stop using things that players said in party chat as evidence for their punishments. Because none of what was said would have been said had staff not informed the players that party chat was unmoderated. These players were turned into the bad guy due to poor staff decision making and communication regarding the “unmoderation” of party chat.

Quarantine is treating me terribly.

 

I first started hardcore playing meepcraft in 2013. Back then meep was a totally different realm. There was a strong steady flow of new players every day, and the community was strong. These are what I call the glory days. During this era of meep the PVP in minecraft was booming. The terrarium was full of players of all types from no armor to diamond armor. Throughout the endless bloodshed arose a group of players who knew that a team was the best way to advance to the top. This team was led by Percy1234 and we called it Clockwork. We made a small hamlet for our small PVP team of about 15 players. We slowly grew popularity and more players joined our ranks. I think we had around 45 people in our town Arrowsdale at one point. For many years the name Clockwork held stigma on the server as a group of dedicated minecrafters who always had each others backs. If you saw one member of clockwork, there was usually 5 more ready to pounce in the shadows. We quickly became known as the best group of PVPers on meepcraft. Clockwork stood through pretty much all of meepcraft. Now there are none of us left. Those who remain are just drifters on meepcraft or they joined new towns/groups. This message is really just a drunk history rant, but really it's to see if any old members are still around! I miss yall clockwork hoes.

Clockwork was once the greatest group of players on meepcraft. Pretty much everyone knew the name and everyone wanted to join us. We all knew each other by name and talked regularly. I want to know if anyones still around. Hit me up! With this new towny extreme server coming soon I keep thinking about the glory days of meepcraft. I hope with the new towny server coming, that meep will rise through the ashes. The community is still strong, but it's very small. I only hope this new towny map comes quickly. I want to see meepcraft rise back to it's former glory. I want to see clockwork rise back up, I want competition, I want new towns, I want oldies and newbies to come in flocks, but most of all I want the community to come back. If you're still reading this message then congratulations for listening to the blabbering old words from one of the oldest meepers. I think I can speak for everyone when I say PLEASE BRING TOWNY EXTREME

So I've been noticing a lot of media applications lately, and they all keep making similar mistakes. @Kling said I can't make constructive threads, so here's a discussion thread;

why has our media team failed?

Topic - Topic is super important! Possibly the most important aspect of a youtube video is topic.
As you can see from the attached screenshot, nearly half of the Meepcraft youtube channel's videos are just trailers for various spawns and events. While this type of content is cleanly edited, these videos are simply not entertaining. Production Quality isn't everything. The content needs value too.

Similar to Topic is Clips Chosen - In the more recent videos on the channel, there have been videos showing the parkour, towny, and even the spawn events. The spawn event videos are cool, and really show off the arch team's builds, but don't shed any light on the actual events. It would be neat to know what is happening on the server. After all, other servers have good architects too. However, the parkour trailer was the most disappointing of all. Showing only 3 courses, in an awkward 3rd person manner, this trailer certainly did not live up to its potential.

Ways (in my opinion) the Parkour/Towny trailers failed/succeeded.

- the towny one showed off the new spawn (the central point of the video) very well.
- the parkour one completely failed to show the excitement of parkour. A good way to improve may have been add a couple seconds of first-person footage from an experienced player like Creepers or Alex.
- the videos were well edited
- the parkour song choice seemed out of place. I'm not saying a filthy drum'n'bass track would've fit better, but maybe something a little faster-paced?
- this is off topic but the creative contest video was great

Finally, variety - While replay mod, third-person montages of different areas look the most professional, they don't always show the theme. For spawn trailers and the creative contests, this type of view looks great, but in parkour and the events, it would have been nice to see a little bit of clean, F1'd, first-person gameplay. Maybe even add some real in-game audio and turn down the music.

TLDR - the videos are well-edited, and look great, however, they lack variety and aren't very entertaining to watch. Also huge apology to pmx for bashing all his videos :V

Just letting you all know of some new skyblock changes.
You've all asked for spawners to be added again, so that all players to have the option to buy. This is about to happen!
We will also be adding in the afk plugin set to 1 hr, as with the spawners being re added we can't have multiple accounts afking at them. As in the rules it is illegal to afk for gain.
But by making it set to 1 hr it still gives you all a chance to have chunks loaded.

We want to try this out to see how well it balances spawn rates and keeping things even across all islands. We will give it a short trial and have a poll later to discuss changes.

Skyblock is a challenge, and if you're on your island working then the chunks will be loaded anyway.
The shop is being reworked and we are also looking at the challenges that are in skyblock, to make it easier for all players new/old to make skybucks.

We're also highly considering adding jobs for an easier beginning transition.
