Introduction: Hello,
I am a 21 year old soon to be college Senior majoring in Financial Analysis and Entrepreneurship at Clarkson University. Some of you might more commonly know me as reggles44, the weird ex-admin who forces people to go to pwarp food after feed was removed. Others might know me as the old player who use to run the town Northwater back when meep was on one server (Ill put a little story at the end if you want to read). I come to the community today to see if I can make a new name for myself as a developer/tech.
Northwater Story (How I started on Meep):
So midway through high school I started playing minecraft and I quickly became interested in multiplayer. Luckily this was right around the time that Meepcraft had advertisements running on the server listing sites so I decided to try it out. My first impression was a mixture of fear and wonder, mainly based on the sheer number of people standing around in spawn. At the time there was only a couple aspects; towny, wild, and colony ctf. After a short time farming with jobs to gain enough money for a town I started Northwater, and oh boy was this a train wreck. After I had around 10 residents in the town all with nice houses I realized that the entire town, streets, plots, and spawn were off center by 1 block. Even after that mistake when I did another expansion onto the town I had it off again. By this time there was around 30 residents some of whom I still see today (xxProzorzzxx, Rockpancake).
Please describe your experience as a developer. I started doing development work a little while after becoming admin last year and since then it has been a constant enjoyment for me. The original joy or minecraft, creation, is the exact reason why I continue to play and want to create content. While my experience coding isn't long my creativity for development and ability to problem solve have allowed me to have some amazing creations for the server in the past. The main reason I would like to continue developing for the server is because I see a new opportunity to have an extremely open platform for creative development in new donor perks as well as new features that set Meepcraft apart from every other server out there. I truely do believe that this chance will allow the development team, the staff, and the community to jump into a whole new type of survival and towny if the proper direction and ideas are there.
What programming languages are you familiar with? Java, Ruby, a little python
What are you most proud of as your work as a developer? It is a close tie between the Halloween event and the Kitpvp plugin.
How do you plan to enrich the experience of MeepCraft with your development contributions? I have two main objectives that will have to happen at different times as I am able to prove myself as a developer and programmer. First, strengthening the plugins I have already worked on such as kitpvp, staff plugins and maybe developing some event plugins. Then after gaining more experience I would like to tackle the challenge of releasing more and more EULA compliant perks for donors along with additional features for the community.
Do you have a GitHub account or personal website? If so, please provide the link(s) here. I currently have a mostly unused github account which I can link if it is required.

I'm not quite sure how to feel about this.
Pros:
-You'll be able to finish what you started, which would be incredibly and undeniably good for the server.
-A quicker integration into the staff team than most.
-Everyone likes you and sees an engrossing amount of potential.
Cons:
-I'm not 100% sure if this is true or not, but there have been some silly posts around the server such as the old "troll" helper application (http://meepcraft.com/threads/helper-application-from-xtpick44.58970/), and some concerns about things said in chat. While this thread was amusing, it makes me question the motives behind the wish to be a staff member in general.
-This comment is going to be personal, yet just as important.
When I joined Meepcraft and heard about the great and powerful reggles, I wanted to see him for myself. I'm not sure if it was the timing or what, but I've never seen reggles as a caring, motivated, or leader-like individual. I've never quite understood the appeal in his personality. He resigned on a bad note as far as I'm concerned, and there was a gap where he seemed to have no interest in Meepcraft. Reggles has always seemed like a man who would let his friends get away with whatever they wanted, and will do whatever it takes to make himself sit on the throne.
I've never seen the appeal in someone who has always been so self-centered. Perhaps it is the timing, perhaps I did something reggles finds undesirable and therefore this is my viewpoint, or perhaps I have not made a large enough attempt to understand the motives behind the great and mighty reggles. There have been times that I may have been in the wrong during sessions where I am communicating with reggles, and perhaps I, for one reason or another, am a complete idiot. This does not change, however, the uneasy and unwelcoming sensations that shiver down my spine when I encounter this man, and therefore I will give a -1 for the reasons stated above.
I would not be surprised in the slightest if this application were to be accepted, and I sincerely give you my best wishes in becoming a tech. I understand that there will be many who will not agree with my point of view. I only wish for reggles to be seen in other lights, because no one is an angel.zsuzsu1, FunGUY, MoonlitMadness and 7 others like this. -

What most of you do not seem to understand is that this is a tech application. Techs don't really interact with the community the way a helper does, so Reggles' personality, however flawed, is completely irrelevant. He's good at tech work, and is perfectly qualified for the position. We don't judge helpers on their ability to code, why judge techs on their personality?

+1 You gave me mod, Jk. Im the only one left, the others left me. :C
Your ideas were top notch, even though a little buggy, they were still fun. I loved that Halloween event, i'd love to see it fixed and re-implemented.FunGUY, Its_Madison, Zoe89 and 2 others like this. -
I'll be honest as usual. I don't like you, basically for the same reasons as stated above. You're only nice to the staff team that was in when you were part of it, and your circle of friends. You can be quite condescending at times.
However, this is a tech application. Are you qualified to be a tech? Absolutely. Are you of a good age, and do you know what responsibilities are and how not to be a jackass? Yes. Therefore, I will be +1'ing this application. Whether you'll continue to clearly express your dislike for quite a few players once you become a tech, I don't know. And honestly, it doesn't really matter.PeriHeika, Toostenheimer, Enron and 1 other person like this. -
