Remove "/t join (blah)" signs illegal near /warp alpha or /warp beta spawns

I don't see any bias here at all
but anyways, -1, if the citizens would read the signs at spawn there's no reason for this

I only discovered this because I had the good fortune to discover a year-old (non-stickied and non-necroed) forum post with a link to a Google Sites page with a list of towny commands, which I used to look up my /res tax.

Its a same circle:
Player joins in Town, gets ripped off, loses all money , can't pay taxes, gets kicked out, loses all items, rage quits.
Thats just how it is.

 

Being co-owner of MonkBurg Beta, I'm going to have to -1 one this. The solution to this supposed problem is simply this, /t leave.
Additionally, this entire suggestion is based off of the premise that town owners do not take care of residents once they have joined, which is most definitely not the case with MonkBurg.

 

I agree eveyone should just read TUTORIAL, MEEPGUIDE, SIGNS, and they would be super smarter!
Definition of BIAS: prejudice in favor of or against one thing, person, or group compared with another, usually in a way considered to be unfair.
Most clearly everyone is BIAS of the towns that own SIGNs cause they think it is unfair they don't have one! It is that simple there is no other reason to this thread!

Again, all the information you are saying is without PROOF (I can too say “everyone in my town is smarter then everyone in your town cause they don’t ask that question”, but that don’t make it true). As you and I already mentioned that information is in the Tutorial, MeepGuide, MeepNews, BetaSpawn at a MINIMUM! Don’t know about other towns but Horneburg has all that information for them to read anytime they like at the /t outpost. If your town doesn’t have something like that, I suggest you send them to do any of the above listed and to read the towny commands or look it up on google! Or /msg every single one of your players like you seem to already be doing... but in all cases THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH BIG SIGNS and is therefore irrelevant to this thread.

We should also think of all the people asking "May I please join a town?". Most of them are new (Or at least don't have a rank.) They obviously used their own thinking skills or didn't even noticed the sign. I know I didn't until I was already in a town. All this says to me is that maybe we should stop worrying about them taking all the players, as they obviously aren't, and focus on our own towns. I think I may change my vote to +/-.

 

I do believe that some towns do not do as good of a job at teaching new players. I also do believe that some towns use new player's ignorance to get some money rolling into the town. However, -1, because this rule would apply to less than a handful of players? I do believe we should work to solve the town/mayor issues, but this isn't the right way, imo.

I know that in beta when I owned monkburg if you'd do /t spawn you could see the signs. all you had to do was look at them.

 

Do you mean that they were in front of you? Because I think that's what hornemans should do.

 

They weren't even a half-dozen blocks away. They were originally even closer, but I made a bit of a renovation.

How about you do the same as was suggested to the other person, go build a "nicer sign" for those towns (for free) and you can make it not an 'eyesore" to your standards which mean nothing to others really. And Thanks for your TESTIMONIAL, i will use it as MORE PROOF that any new player can still play on this server once they learn (the hard way) how to read signs and get money for taxes, and still play meepcarft very much!

I have MANY signs and NONE of them are hidden! So again with your FASLE information and statements that don't make sense!

Also, I NEVER stated that i don't nor do care for new citizens, but none the less EVERY CITIZEN new or old is welcome to get a plot in horneburg with NO waiting as soon as they come to towny! However, I DID state that everyone in this thread that SAYS they are trying to HELP new citizens when in FACT they are just trying to help THEMSELVES!

The argument that your signs are misleading new citizens into a poor towny experience is still valid.
Just take them down, you obviously care nothing about their experience judging by your troll-level defense of the argument.

 

We could always just have the server staff build walls on the outer edge of the Towny spawns blocking players on the island from seeing out into the Towny world...

 

I was speaking of the past horneburg when you first started the sign ads. It was 500+ residents and 300 plots. Im still not sure if your current town is worse however because how many new players actually make 750 a day to cover your taxes? most get towny wiped.
