Feb 23, 2014: 20% Economy Reduction

+1 for 20%. 1% would be too much after a while.

 

Great idea, when will this happen though?

 

Alrighty so 20 days worth of tax at once or forever? Logic says at 20%. Please just get this over with like a bandaid!

 

The problem with this is that right before the reduction, people quickly invest their money into something like gold or diamonds and wait until the reduction happens. right after they sell it off either at original value or they sell it for a little cheaper and lose way less money than expected. This prevents a lost of a lot of meebles and actually changes the price of the object they invest in.

 

What is to stop people from spending all their money on items, then selling back for the same/more when the economy is reduced by 20%?

+1 on this idea, I like the idea of raising the value of the meeble by just lowering the percentage of meebles in the econ. It will take away from the rich, and still take some from the poor, but hey. Rich people shouldn't be the only ones taxed just because they know how to make money. Everyone should chip in, and raise the value of the meeble again! But as stated by Old_Pink, I only support this if it is at maximum 1 reduction per while. As a sidenote, since this raises the value of the Meeble, this encourages people to donate for meebles, since they would get more value out of their money.

Also, for those who don't support this, remember: After 23 days, the 1% daily tax would take away more money than the 20% tax, and this tax would last for a long time.

 

so when will this decrease happen?

 

Could you please go into details if possible? I'd like to hear about how you could counter this.

 

Pros: 1% per day would hurt the people with the most money. Horneman's has 200 Mil, and would loose 2 mil everyday, I do not watch his balance but I do not think he makes 2 mil a day, so he would "ideally" start to decay. Whereas if someone has 100 K, they would only lose 1k a day, surely they could earn more than that per day.

Cons: Long term effect of a daily tax would seem ridiculous.

I personally don't care, but I am sure Onis would love to see Horneman's lose the 40 Mil he made off the superbowl bet ;p

 

What about Townie tax? Please reduce that back down to 75 per plot instead of 100.
