Some are, my grandma's horses aren't, in fact they are friends with her only donkey. Which ate part of one of my shirts :l

It is possible to ride with no saddle...

It's called riding bareback. Boys it would probably hurt... When you trot you bounce and land on the horse's spine.

I ride at an English barn. At least most people ride with an English saddle there
