Why are basing his normal work as a helper for the moderator qualities? You say he does lots of modreqs... okay... that makes him more fit for mod in what way..? He's nice, okay, he doesn't like hurting people's feelings, we don't want a corruptible staff member with so much power, right? Being "nice" doesn't make a good moderator, I honestly hope you should know that by know.

You are proving to yourself that he's a great Helper, good. He can stay there. Until he starts performing over the top and doing things Mods should be doing, then we should discuss that then. When he is over the top and beyond, like many of the staff members we've had that go from Helper to Mod in under a month, he should become mod. But right now, he's not over the top. He knows how to type /claim and /done. Moderators do a lot more than "help" and do modreqs; from what you've seen from Bobjon, do you think he's able to handle that at the level we need moderators to be at? I don't.

You're a person you can very easily hold a conversation with, and a seemingly nice guy.

However

You have a town a that was a specifically designed noob trap, made to take all of their money until they had none, then be auto-kicked from the town. The staff team had to hound you constantly, as you did not even have nearly enough plots for the residents in your town! This meant that any new players who would log onto the server would join your town, look for a plot, and when they could not find one they would log off and go find another server. 3 days later, all of their money was gone and they quit the server for good. I have no doubt that you made the server lose a vast amount of players, all for your own benefit. You've done nothing to help people with that money, and you've done nothing but have a town that produces a PROFIT of almost 800k meebles per DAY. A town should not make a profit! While you have since reduced the daily tax in your town to 250, this issue is not something that should be overlooked, and is an awful mark on your record. Add onto that your levels of immaturity ingame and in the forums, and that makes my vote a fairly simple one to give.

I havnt done this in like a year but, here goes.

When I met you I hated you. But after we had our 1 on 1 talk and cleared things up, you showed me a different side. You're one of the community players I constantly go to for questions and to bounce ideas off. You're very intellectual and very well rounded. You may have a strong opinion but I think thats why I like you. You remind me a bit of Deinen is that state. You dont waiver easily, if at all on your beliefs. I see you anger sometimes which isnt something necessarily negative, but staff is hard and FULL of criticism. I think with a little training and guidance into the way we do things and handle situations, as well as having a place to vent would be good for your character.

I used to be so -1 that I couldn't see it on the scale but honestly, I think the staff could learn a bit from you and would like to see you part of this team.

+1. Keep improving and convince the rest of these guys that you arent who they think you are.

 

My posts were deleted for not wanting vkl as staff. "Shut up n00b your posts were just deleted because it said LOOOL". Okay, I see where you're coming from, but then how come this post still exists?

because it has a +1 in it. Klitch says the staff don't worship vkl, some do. Do i think klitch does? No. Do I think a certain admin and a certain supermod does? Yes. And it saddens me, as these 2 staff members are some of if not the best current staff members.
If certain staff didn't worship him, he would still be banned. Like June said, it's a joke in itself that he has been unbanned time and time again after staff said 'Never again'. And now he's going for helper. I would laugh, but the truth is he's probably already accepted.

Let me tell you exactly what my earlier post said. I quoted summrs, added another LOL, and stated that this was ridiculous. Then vkl replied to me, saying that just because I wasn't staff anymore didn't mean I was 'all tough'. Great reply from a future staff member. He then went and continued on my profile.

This guy is as unreliable as it gets. He will say he's an improved person and get banned the next. He will post a goodbye thread and apply for staff the next. He didn't even touch on his ban appeals, at all, in his application. Not one word. Oh wait, there is one. He says Over the last 4 months I have only obtained 1 ban. And he got unbanned from that ban a month ago. But hey, bug abusing one month and becoming staff the next is fine as long as you suck up to cour-- uhh muun-- uhh the staff team all day.


At the end of the day, vkl, you have too many bans. You're not qualified, and you most likely never will be qualified for staff on this server. Just keep playing the server, and enjoying it. But you being recruited is essentially just the staff asking for problems.

I think it was a great application and very well written but I will not sugar coat my reply and will get straight to the point.

Every person that has ever been a staff member of the Meepcraft server that I have had the opportunity to work with know my biggest pet peeves are 1. Using staff perms for personal gain 2. Leaking staff chat. I consider leaking any form of staff communication a violation of the trust a staff team needs to work together effectively and to always be honest with each other which in the case of leaking causes some to not fully speak their minds in fear of it getting out.

Now in the case of your demotions I have been enlightened as to the circumstances and though not the worst case of leaking we have had it is still leaking.

So I have a couple of questions that I will ask to help put myself and hopefully others at ease.

First, do you understand why any type of leaks is an issue within the staff team and what have you learned based on your actions that will prevent this from happening again?

Secondly, it is well known in the Minecraft community that you have a personal relationship with a non-staff member. Now I know in relationships that honesty is something that is important. Do you see this being an issue with not leaking staff information if it involved people you know on a personal level.

I appreciate your honest answers and any other information you would like to provide.

 

Well i have been speaking with you a bit in the past couple weeks, mostly about development stuff. I think that you possess a lot of really important qualities for a developer in general namely the hunger to always learn more and explore different parts of programming and how they work. I'm not sure that you are at a level that you would be comfortable working in an enviornment like Meep at this point and that's certainly not about your skills as a developer its more about personal traits such as patience. Your still young so this is to be expected really but thats some respectful criticism to help you improve like others have said. I'm not going to vote either way at this point but i am quite impressed with both your level of knowledge this early on and your want to learn. Keep learning, in the programming world nobody can ever know everything

You do know that modreq counts are reset every couple weeks... right? I'm pretty sure you didn't have more modreqs than I did in my time as Helper.

Your application is horribly written. You consistently contradict yourself in your application. I don't think you are staff material at all, as you don't possess the professionalism required for this position. You were demoted for a reason and you don't even know what is was for. You're just denying it and positions where you are moderating is something that attitude doesn't work for.

 

Yes, we have a large list of staff members. A long list of people, many of whom are rarely online. I happen to play for very long periods every day and can confidently say that many on the long list of moderators are rarely online and that there are long periods everyday which go un-moderated. I was very modest saying that I play 4 hours per day in my application, any active player knows that. I'd rather not state an amount of hours that I cannot fulfill. If the only knock against me is that the staff team is too big, I am in intrigued as to how people wish to improve the the server. We concurrently complain about how the server is dying and how nothing gets done, while also suggesting that the staff team is too large. I am in no way apathetic towards the server, I want to make it better.

I'd like to quote CluelessKlutz from another application:

Granted, I vary my timezone a lot, but the one constant I have is getting on every day about a half hour before towny time for economic reasons. For about the past 3 weeks+, it's one of two options. Either it's just myself, and there are open modreqs, or there's one other staff member. When someone is on, they are doing their job, but they should not feel like they have to stay on or the server will go unmoderated. Adding more versatile staff members such as Madison is a huge bonus to the staff team as a whole. ​

The concept of "too many staff" is hardly an issue now, nor has it ever been. Speaking from personal experiences, I frequently see high staff members being the ones moderating, and that isn't necessarily a bad thing, and it's in no way anyone else's fault, but time they spend moderating global is time not spent making improvements to the server. Being a team requires delegation, and helpers are a critical part of the team."​

- "I hope to keep it that way" - You should be active before you apply for helper. Plus you just came back like 3 days ago.

- The last time you were helper, you didn't do anything that outstood and you were mediocre at best. During modreqs, you always tended to let bias influence your opinions and had trouble deescalating situations.

- From the last time you were on the staff team you told new players wrong commands because it was entertaining for you, and brought up inappropriate topics around known younger players.





In your time zone I always see plenty of staff online, and among those players I don't believe you would stand out or really make a change. You claim you should be accepted because you have experience, but your last run as staff really left a bad taste in my mouth. Plus you just came back .. I hope we can still be cool. You posted an application, and I'm just posting my 100% honest opinion.

 

I like you but like I said you need to work on your attitude. Which you have, but it got worse before it got better so you're pretty much in the same place from the first time I told you that. I have no doubt you'd do a lot of work as a helper but I can't see you ever going beyond that which troubles me. I see you only being a modreq person almost as if a computer, round the clock, input/output but we need people to be leaders, to be a face for a business that wants to succeed. You also have such strong feelings about people that prevent you from working as a team and I do not look forward to your attitude in our staff chats towards current and past staff. Even if you say nothing, the turmoil lingers towards people I consider my friends and family. You still have so much to work on that's so inherently personal but you are constantly riding on how well you know the server, which you do... but how well do you know yourself?

So first off I love your enthusiasm to apply for helper right away! But due to your long ban history much like myself I don’t believe you are quite ready for it yet. I’d love to see you as a helper but for now maybe be the role model for someone to look up to. In 12 months top I do believe you could get it and I’d 100% put a +1 on it if you have proved yourself trustworthy and not been banned.

also your weakness section is nearly longer than your why you should be helper section..
