I'm afraid your recollection is inaccurate - and I've called you out on this before. I like you and you make some good points, so stop making me do this! (http://meepcraft.com/threads/discussion-over-ads.29315/#post-300869) You triggered the ads filter and said "bye guys." If I could, I'd look up the reported ban thread to confirm that. The only reason I really care about correcting it now (besides the fact that dishonesty annoys the crap out of me ) is that you're using "I was banned by staff just for making a 'clear joke'" as a false backdrop for the rest of your points. (In another old thread, you were using it to bash staff.)

Double posting because I wanted to acknowledge Jwarian's post.

Being a staff member is a lot of work. I don't think the staff are "slowly dying inside," lol, but I don't think people quite understand. I got frustrated with a well-meaning friend of mine for complaining that I (edit: actually, it was about staff in general) didn't "really play Meep," and basically asked them if they'd rather I ignore modreqs and not answer players' questions or post proof for bans, so that I could play CTF or go mining with them. I had a fun time, and I wish I could've kept doing it! But I think there are some things about staff that are unnecessarily difficult.

The problem with doing things like "telling us when our perks will actually return" is that they often don't know - even Cooley and Onis sometimes don't! And they're scared of giving even an idea of a timeframe, because if they're wrong, people will rage. (Of course if they don't give one, people will rage anyway, lol.) I'm sure you remember how things were. I always tried to get information out to the community when I could about what was going on, but we didn't have a whole lot that we could share (even when I was a Supermod) - and when we thought we did, sometimes it was wrong. Things came up or weren't quite done yet, and we had to eat our words.

Also, I think the point you and others are making about not putting too much importance on the economy is valid. I just want it to MEAN something when people gain and lose money - that's what makes an economy simulation fun. But right now it's just too hard to even participate, and whether that's good or bad for the economy, it's bad for new players. From what I understand, there are things in the works that would fix that... but I have no idea when they'll arrive.
