I personally say add V-Shop in and Admin Shop plus voting and get your arses in gear fixing Mini-Games. Meep is on a downwards spiral and every Admin and every single person that gets involved with the Politics of the Server knows it.

I love how people are ranting about how vshop is causing too many monopolies, unless you're an idiot, you should know that this is an economy server, and that in real life, the way people make money is through monopoly, to be honest, economy is like a game, to win you must have the best strategy, please learn economy before saying silly things like this.

 

I think I was arguing with you rather than against. the argument against Vshop is "fairness", to that I call bull.
Lets all remember that all donor perks make the game unfair, after all thats why Mojang considers us non-EULA compliant.

 

in a monopoly, it lessens the trade of others essentially killing other small businesses- making it harder for new players to earn money.

To be honest, the government is also supposed to protect against monopolies, at least in the US.
So... if meepcraft was the government.
and the Vshop created monopolies,
and meep's economy was modeled after the US's
It's quite possible to say that they're just doing their job

What if I told you that when the economy was "fkd" according to many people we had a much larger player base and maybe.... just maybe the economy was "fkd" or aka total wealth was higher was because we averaged 600 players instead of 65.

Anyway, to rebuild the server to its former self it will take ages, lots of reform to rules, lots of implementations, deletions of certain systems, and of course a heavy effort by the owner (whoever that may be now).

 

Has Fuzzlr ditched us again?

 

Shoot, just bring TonyT and crew back. That'll get the server going again.

Beyond that, it seems that Minecraft servers in general are fading in popularity. I have yet to see a server that was a truly "successful" economy server.

i don't want it to be personal, i understand fuzz has a life.
just put someone in charge who communicates with us so we don't feel left out for months at a time.

 

A lot of the reason I was recently demoted was for "bashing" the server in skype chats. I would continually complain about the fact that nothing was visibly getting done. During my demotion rant that Cooleys gave me on skype, he said that there are test servers for these things. Apparently there are test servers were stuff is supposedly getting done however, no one on staff or the community knows about it. (Until you read my comment, surprise. Also this isn't leaking staff chat since this was communicated to me in a private conversation)
The fact that nothing is visibly getting done really irks me. The bugs are truly amounting to the point where it's going to be near impossible for some servers *cough* skyblock *cough* to continue to function.
The voting problem was fixed once then it broke...again? Like seriously, it was fixed and then someone went and broke it! What the heck???
The shops are all coincidentally owned by staff because staff knows what's going to happen before it happens...well sometimes they know. Certain people are privy to economical choices that could be extremely beneficial to players however, the players don't know its happening. This really irked me, especially since I was privy to the information of the chest shops and the community wasn't 100% in the know. From the transition from Vshop->Meepshop there was announcements every goddamn minute but staff couldn't be bothered to put a similar announcement saying, "Hey, maybe you should invest in a chest shop!" They couldn't because a lot of them were too busy making their own chest shops *cough* Quaddy *cough*. (Yeah I see your stuff at /pwarp depot...I'm not shocked)

Jobs would be great to have back in this day and age. I regretted denying every suggestion about jobs because the fact that it was removed was ridiculous! Fix the bug in it, don't ruin it for everyone! But the fact is that staff has pretty much put gag orders on certain suggestions like factions, jobs and bringing back vshop because a higher up said no.

Seriously, this server could be fixed and back to former glory in like 3 steps but no one is going to spend the time to fix it because there are certain "more important" things to be fixed.

We used to have multiple techs and now we have one designated tech. Why is that? Why can't we get more techs to fix the problems we have before adding all this useless crap into the server?

Fuzzlr has deserted us more times than I can count.
In my time as staff, I can count the amount of times I had seen fuzzlr communicate with staff on one hand. It was twice, both of them last year. Its truly disgusting.

"techs" are a dime-a-dozen.. good techs are difficult to keep. in fact when I was a tech here I ended doing more moderating. The exec staff never really gave us enough latitude to debug the plugins, especially given the complexity and integration of the servers. and I understand, fuzzi has been burned before and many times. mjacobi, payten, rosenow, illuminati, et al.

the problem revolves around trusting your tech staff to do the best thing and the more access you give them, the worse the consequences when you tick them off.
