Dude, if somebody is already a criminal, what makes you think they are going to buy their guns legally in the first place?

Criminals do not care about gun laws regardless of what you may think. Banning guns does absolutely nothing because they will get them anyways.

So you're pro gun, but you support infringing upon the second amendment?

If you give the government the right to (basically arbitrarily) decide who can and can't have a gun, guess what's going to happen?

I can guess, the government will ban all guns. And that would be horrible. But do we really want a gun in the hands of man/woman who's intention is to kill everyone in sight? Why are people who are deemed too dangerous to fly deemed safe enough to have a gun?
Also, remove all babies from the no fly list. Because why would a baby be dangerous?

No, not really. The problem is determining that those actually are their intentions.
No Idea. Of course, it's not a constitutional right to fly.
    Because...TSA!

This topic isn't black and white if you know what I mean. I think we need a mid ground where people are allowed to have pistols with minimum sized clips. They need to have background checks and if you have had any criminal behavior you aren't allowed a gun. There will never be a perfect society without violence and trying to get it to become one just isn't possible.

I think we should have a better way to "surveillance" who gets what in their hands....But because a hand full of people do bad with guns out of everyone doesn't mean we should eliminate guns completely from citizens. I support this quote 100%

"A free people ought not only be armed and disciplined, but they should have sufficient arms and ammunition to maintain a statues of independence from any who might attempt to abuse them, which would include their own government" -George Washington

pistols with minimum sized clips? That's not going to solve anything. And on top of that, please do not call them "clips" a "clip" is what is used to assist in feeding bullets into something, such as a M1 Garand.

While a Magazine is what contains the bullets in the first place.

Lol. I define minimum as f(x)=100[|x|]^2+7, where x is the length of the barrel in inches.

To me the minimum sized clip would be when the thing then becomes too heavy to bother using.

That's essentially what this is. I mean, let's assume you have a barrel (at all). That means x=1 (greatest integer function), so f(x)= 107. When 1<x<2, f(x)= 407. If the barrel is a more reasonable length, let's say 6 inches, you can now have 3607 rounds in your magazine.

    Nobody says that any more...
By this, I assume you mean Australia.
Oh no, no, you couldn't be talking about Australia. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Port_Arthur_massacre_(Australia)

These people obviously know nothing about firearm safety. That's why they want to take them away!

Wow. Why didn't we think about this before? Thanks! You just solved America's gun violence problem. Let's tell Obama right away to not let terrorists buy guns.

I just feel like I need to say this, so here:

Rule 1 of firearm safety: NEVER, under ANY circumstances, aim, point, or direct a firearm at something you do not intend to shoot.
Rule 2 of firearm safety: Treat ALL firearms as if they were loaded, at ALL times.
Rule 3 of firearm safety: Keep your firearm unloaded until you are ready to shoot it.
Rule 4 of firearm safety: Keep your finger off of the trigger until you are ready to fire.

(The image above violates the first two rules)

The observation I've made is that the less people know about guns, the more scared they are.

One thing I would like to point out is that something like twice as many people die in automotive accidents every year than are killed by guns (excluding suicides, because if someone wants to kill themselves, they aren't going to change their mind because they don't have a gun, are they?)

Another thing, if you look at gun ownership by % in a state, and murder rates per 100,000 people, you won't find much of a correlation either way. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gun_violence_in_the_United_States_by_state

I'm not sure why people keep using cars as a comparison. I mean... the more regulations we put on cars, the less auto deaths we get. Of course, cars aren't supposed to be used to inflict harm on others.

All I know is, if somebody want's you dead. They are going to find a way to either try to kill you or succeed.

Gun or not, somebody tells me I can't use a knife? No problem, stab with a pen/pencil etc.

    A) It puts people who want to get rid of guns entirely in their place. It shows them that their efforts would be much, much better spent on making cars safer and/or abolishing cars (which is ridiculous), and it puts a perspective on the number of people killed by guns every year. Which, to look at it another way, is 1/10th of 1/10th of 1/10th of 1/10th of 1/3.2nd of out population (pretty sure I did that right. It's approx 10,000, while cars are at something like 33,000)

    B) The comparison of regulations isn't quite accurate. Auto regulations focus on improving the design of cars to make them safer in accidents. Gun regulations focus on preventing people from obtaining guns.

Ik. That's one of the problems I have with my school banning pocketknives. I'm a pretty big kid, and if I wanted someone dead, they'd be dead. I can say the same for about half the school; if they wanted to kill someone, they're smart enough to find a way without using a knife. And honestly, if I wanted to kill someone, I wouldn't really care about school rules, would I? I have pens/pencils/scissors/table legs/chairs/an infinite other number of possible weapons as or more effective than a pocketknife at my disposal. Now, I can understand the rationale behind the rule at some public schools, where they won't let people have anything but the most basic materials for fear of murder, but I go to a college prep, mostly middle class charter school.
