Things Need To Change.

Sorry but there are so many things wrong with this. A new server? Who is going to fund it? And, if it's made by "the community", who makes the decisions? Who's going to be owner? Or admin, mod or helper? What about Fuzzlr, do you think he'll happily let "the community" make another server and lose all of his players? Fuzzlr is running a business here.

I'm +1'ing a reset.

It may keep them on the server, it may not. However if we're resetting to bring in new players, I don't see why catering the minority of players who are rank sellers matters.

 

Because they spend the money?

And guess what - A reset won't bring in new players much longer than the thousand dollar ads, the $5000 spawn. Point of the story - Nothing short of substance within the games itself is going to bring players around, the ones the server needs to be successful.

Paying some stupid kid youtuber $2000 to show up for a video, bringing along hundreds of players for a week, and never seeing them again.

Like, don't you see it doesn't work? - The server has tried this about a million times, and every single time it hasn't worked.

Perhaps the answer is stop wasting time on stupid aesthetics, and spend thousands of dollars putting in substance to the games, and more importantly, making TOWNY (You know, the one mini-game most people donate for) a custom experience for new players - So you can begin to leech them off other servers, by the simple fact that your game-mode is better.

The server's decline began as SOON as MeepCraft tried to be a hub server, with MN, and for the most part here.

I mean, I've been saying this since I was admin - MAKE A CUSTOM TOWNY WORLD - GET CREATIVE - INVEST IN YOUR BUSINESS - The one thing that brings in the majority of donations is an off-the-shelf plugin that barely differs than any other server out there. I can play your towny game-mode on any other server, with MORE players.

The answer is: STOP BEING THE 20TH PLACE TO SELL HAMBURGERS - BE THE FIRST PLACE TO SELL BACON CHEESEBURGERS.

 

The answer is to have normal mini games. Look at the servers with 10k-40k people. They all have similar mini games and a lot of them. Meep doesn't have enough yet to have mini games tbh. They should take towny down for a while (Look at my suggestion on pains economy flow suggestion). They should take towny down for a while and work on it, while other people are working on adding mini games. It will then be a mini game server, then once they fix towny it will be towny (Basically don't take towny away until the mini games are done. Also give everyone up to /chest 1-100 so they can take things from there towns and put it in the /chest. Then reset townsa and delete townsb. Give everyone like a 1 month warning. Then people will come for the mini games. It will get bigger and bigger, then they add towny after like 2 days and more people will come. If this doesn't make sense, just tell me

 

No, the answer isn't to have normal minigames. The answer is to, like Deinen said, focus on Towny. Although a reset and a new towny would really go hand in hand.

 

When creating a server, you have to find a way to make the server unique. Otherwise players will not stay.
The typical minigames that are on other servers could be so typical that players find them boring. Same goes for towny, creative, or skyblock. You have to have a balance of things that are recognizable, and unusual.

 

I'll be honest, I didn't read the whole post but I keep seeing "reset the server" come up when scrolling through comments and I really need to say that it's a terrible, terrible idea. I've seen this done before and the server it was done on is and never will be the same.

Isn't that the point of a reset, to lose all your meebles. Yes, I know earning meebles is a hard thing to do when there is barely any place to sell, If a reset were to happen, I say we keep our ranks and lose the rest. If we did keep our meebles, it would still make up the point that the rich will get richer, right? Not only that, but most likely richer then they already our due to new shops that would be made. We haven't had a reset in awhile, I think it would solve many problems like glitches, etc. Not only that but the community WOULD be better, hence everyone would be in the same situation, a new start, poor, barely any items. Why not?

 

I completely agree, minus the reset point. Also, I believe it's Eco servers as a whole that's taking the dip, not only Meep because kids are the ones playing now. Many of the teenagers/adults, (not all of them, a lot are still here) have left to play games such as CS:GO, LoL, Dota, etc. The target of the server just isn't there anymore. Fuzzlr is trying to make a server for little kids, but why would kids play on a server that has staff members and rules so strict they can just talk to their parents for the same result?

Whoever is suggesting changes that lead to the changing of Pvp, and kitpvp and many other stuff. Please stop. You are ruining the server. The old kitpvp was the perfect pvp. Why did you have to change the map completly. The new kits suck and the new map sucks.

I actually feel that there are two ways to fix this. However, both of them involve a certain owner actually interacting with a certain community.

• Reset the server

Yes, I feel that this would help greatly. When I say to reset the server I mean to reset towns and meebles as well. This would fix the overall eco because it is literally starting from scratch but without the past exploitations like netherrack affecting the eco. However, this won't fix meep's greatest drawback.

• Shut down almost all minigames

This is meep's greatest flaw right here. Meep isn't a hub, so why is it trying to be one? I remember meep worked best when it had only meep colonies and then maybe spleef. If this server's main selling point is towns, than why are we dropping cash on new minigames? Even at that, if they are gonna keep the "hub but not really" idea, than they should fix the games they already have *cough* CTF *cough*.

 

Ive seen this happen on two separate occasions. A server offers towns and an additional minigame. They then decide to add more and more minigames to bring more players. But the opposite happened, the servers started crashing down. You would have many people on a server but they are all spread out between the minigames. Also, there are way too many towns and its stupidly easy to start a town. The same thing happens, all the players are spread between towns, everyone feels alone in their towns, everyone begins to loose interest.

Yeah I'm down for a reset if it means ranks are kept, while it would be really sad, cause I have a lot of boocks friends have written that I get really nolstagitc about since its from old meep. But I think we need to get rid of meep, because a server reset to me means, wipe everything except spawn and the players rank. So that means if we kept meep the econmy would be the same and stuff like that
