In scenario of an Apocalypse the army would be keen to save as many as possible, and I'm in Canada, we don't really have a military here. I mean we do, but it's less than 100,000

I guess zombies hate loud noises, so I'd turn it on and make the loudest noise known to man. While the zombies are disorientated, I grab all the double-A batteries I can to refuel my clock, grab some knives, hop on my bike and cycle away.
