The Media Team and why it's failed

Maybe if the MeepCraft staff team wasn't afraid of demoting people who don't do anything we wouldn't be having this conversation. Like task the media team to make weekly videos. If they don't do it, start recruiting people who do. Make that a bottom line. It's really not that hard!

You won't find people who will make weekly videos consistently for free. I am on a bi-weekly schedule and even then it's tough because I have obligations outside of being media. I'm sure some people could but that's just what most people's scenario is. If you feel like you can do it, then I think that you could be a great Media. Making good quality videos takes lots of time and experience and you must have loads of free time to put out a good one once a week.

 

They should be paid some of the ad revenue as an incentive to create more. If they can't get ad revenue and don't want to make the videos anymore, then they shouldn't be media anyways. Sorry if that's harsh or whatever but if you want things to change you're gonna have to be tough. I don't know if you're talking about me personally but I don't want to be a media I'm just saying this would be a good direction to go in if you want to improve the media team, as the thread itself is suggesting. This is the most direct way.

Lastly if no one lives up to these standards, we are back where we started, with a less than mediocre media team. Videos are a rare sight, they're lame quality, and we forget them as a rank altogether. It's like a paradox ha.

 

Media's don't get ad revenue, and probably never will. We do it to benefit the server and because we enjoy doing it. Some people lose motivation to produce videos and that's a big problem. In this statement you are saying if we don't get ad revenue then we shouldn't be media?

If no one gets paid ad revenue and posts once a week then you obviously must never post videos and have "lame quality" in all of them, correct? I wouldn't say we have a less then mediocre media team but that's all subjective. Maybe we have a less then mediocre amount of medias but at least the one we have actually does his job. You may of forgotten the rank altogether, but then again.. you aren't very active.

 

A media who makes 1 video a month is still better than having no media at all. Plus atm there aren’t much people making videos for meepcraft.

 

Listen I'm giving you guys ways to improve nd you agree but you're saying no because you don't want to put in the effort, then we get threads like these

What I meant was more perms/high staff related. I hope you guys one day have access to more social media platforms, and in the future are more challenged to do more videos and other original projects.

This is the problem. I'm sure you guys have to chase after things to do instead of being consistently assigned these projects.

I find it funny that a staff team that strives to be professional doesn't give it's volunteers the full layout and direction of where the admins want to go. You guys need a full plan of what needs to be done instead of your team going on a constant goose chase.

If I can actually be able to earn a media rank for making meepcraft memes that would be a very stale occupation...

When we made the Media group, it was basically a group of people with special perms to make videos they love. We dont ask them to be creative, thats their job.

 

I’m saying that they should be pushed more to create projects weekly. If they aren’t inspired or encouraged then they’ll become bored. I understand that our medias tend to be busy but they shouldn’t have to seek out things to do when those tasks should be given to them. If you or another staff member would like to talk to me more about this DM me.

 

The drive to play minecraft has dropped alot in the last few years, Less and less people are playing the game. as for me I'm just too busy to be around right now.

The videos need to be made more offen and show off the server more. My favorite video is still the 2012 one, That one was amazing.

They've got an easy goose chase since they have access to a schedule document I created for them so they can plan ahead and given numerous projects. You are quite critical like most since not being staff anymore but you make comments on topics such as this you are unaware about.

I'm not going to push for weekly videos because I do not want to burn out our members since from the time I can remember it's quite the work doing one every two weeks because there's only so much free time they have, sub weekly uploading is good for me and they are greenlighted to create frequent content by all means.

That’s great that you’ve made a schedule! I’m happy to see what the media team will create. To answer your point regarding me though, a lot of these past staff don’t pull things out of their butts either.
