I'm not saying earth would win, as we have nothing to match the fleets of the republic, but I think in a land to land battle it wouldn't be quite as one sided as everyone thinks.

Trick question. Senātus Populusque Rōmānus would win. Roman Republic 100%. Although I can't help but feel like the empire is similar to the romans. Specially with the senate.

 

Are you forgetting we have mass destruction weapons and they don't? I doubt a light saber would stop an ICBM

If ships are in orbit or more likely just outside of orbit, debris would stay in orbit or burn up on entry. No nuclear fallout.

Also military size, how many clones are there? There's over 6million soldiers on earth, and most of America has a gun. So let's say every gun plus people that could serve in the military, and we have a possible army of over a billion people.

 

your arguments are flawed beyond belief. Not speaking from a republic vs starwars spectrum but from a military strategy spectrum.

Do you know how an ICBM even works? Do you think 6 billion people on the ground can fight off an entire fleet of ships? Clones were near limitless, never questioned orders and followed them to a tee. A nuclear explosion will not do very much in space. How do you expect to win a war if you can not even leave the planet to go after their leader. Cant end the war if you cant target their vital points.

That does not excuse the near worthless strategy of yours. Humans can merely use small arms fire to fire upon ships coming in from space. Most AA guns and weapons would be ineffective. 6 billion soldiers would be cannon fodder. The only logical course of action would be to send all of our planet's feminists, blacklivesmatter, Westbrook Baptist churchin and ISIS after the republic fleets. Name the mission ''Operation Bantha Fodder'' solve a few of the worlds problems.
