Skyblock Reset

And you don't understand how players can't get to the top island cause everyone who is top has iron golem spawners? Someone doesn't understand their things

I have a way that gets you to top level but even I don't want to tell anyone how cause it's something fairly easy. I'll show you and tell you in game if you'd like and if needed I can spill the beans

 

Yes the way it was asked was could anyone get to the same level island. So that’s how I answered and gave any tips as to how to do it. As to is it fair to all players. The people that played skyblock the whole time without going inactive were able to get spawners. Then they were added to the crates. Is that fair to new players, well that’s a difference of opinion. As just like new players that start towny. They start off with nothing and slowly build up to getting things to help them get further in the game. Is it fair you want to reset skyblock to get rid of things that players worked hard to get? All players still have a chance at getting the spawners. And if you check skyblock a lot basically the ones with spawners are not there afking.

 

I've checked on numerous occasions players AFKing overnight at spawners or while they are out for the day.

It is not just like towny, towny has not had anything to really boost a hand full of players over others at a serious rate. (Read SMK post about islands magically boosting past him after a week)

What are the odds of anyone receiving the Iron golem spawner that make it ''fair'' because I'm confident with the odds 1 or 2 people may have only 1 spawner each since I have not heard of anyone winning it.
It is not fair to the top handful players having a reset but overall I see the positives outweighing the negatives. If Meepcraft is to increase the playerbase the longer time passes for players to get higher island levels and have it affect more. I make this suggestion based on both the longevity of the server and now because the longer time passes the more people are affect by change.

New players will continue to join and leave skyblock upon realizing the chances are next to none to obtain what others have which widens the gap from the top to everyone else so it will not grow into what it possibly could. The only people who stick around are the ones who are not into becoming among the top islands which decreases the players we could reach/obtain.

there was a player one time who got bored of towny, tired of his mayor, so he decided to try skyblock
he rallied some friends to join his island
he afk'd, grinded, fished for hours, and he never got rich.
he didn't care though it was still a fun game, even if he was poor and could hardly afford anything,
one time, he logged on and it took 3 minutes or more to teleport to his island.
the update had changed, now he couldn't dualhand a rod and axe
rip grinding
he quit, not because of the economy's wildly broken state, but because teleporting to skyblock is nearly impossible with 100+ ms ping, and staff had broken the only features that made it different than anyone else
at this point, he realised any other skyblock server would be a better experience
disappointed yet again, he went back to being toxic and homeless in towns

oh yeah that dude was me
also most of my friends quit so rip 3 or 4 active new players xD
consider fixing the teleport time as skyblock just isn't worth waiting for currently in my opinion
I worked for hours and got practically nowhere, I agree wholeheartedly with kling's principles, go try to restart your island

You are totally wrong with this comment. I did work hard on my island and there was no cheating involved.
My island had passed the top island before I even got a spawner. So you can do it if you work hard enough.
As for the issues with teleporting to skyblock. This is a known issue and Im sure lord has it on his list, but atm there are other things he is doing.

 

When I had my own islands, it took me two weeks to get 2 100x100 platforms. It’s not hard, it’s just long and it’s just a matter of whether or not new players are willing to work hard for their island.
Now I agree we should solve the unbalance problem; though a reset is not the answer.
I’d suggest, once again, to make the reward of completing ALL quests for ALL levels a spawner of the staff’s team choice, but enough to solve this unbalance. I’d suggest making it pigman spawner.
This would encourage players to 1. Expand their islands 2. Complete all challenges which will already drastically improve their islands.
And @Kling there still is a way to earn money in skyblock, making a giant natural portal zombie pigman spawner. Though it has been drastically nerfed, there’ll still be an income, enough to expand islands and complete challenges, but it’s just a matter of effort that people are willing to put in, because it takes time.
Now another solution would be to buff the zombie pigmen natural spawners with portals, but decrease the price of gold.
Many players used to use this method, but when it got nerfed they dropped it because it didn’t suffice their needs, even though it still brings in quite an amount of money.

 

I'm not bothered about that really, this suggestion is more about the competition side of skyblock for if we want to really have new players getting the same odds as everyone else spent or are we bowing out this year for skyblock and not have it filled to the potential it could, after these spawners aswell wasn't/wouldn't the price and point per block of iron drasticly affected for every person to combat the sudden influx of iron produced?

Yes it would, but it already has. The iron price plunged in the past three months or so, and a solution is diversifying the market by doing this

Active players, despite iron golem spawners, also get rich through events by collecting rare items, like the one hosted by @xT3Kx.
I didn’t really understand your response, but if the question is “could new players get to the top 3 spot against current top islands?” The answer is probably no, unless the top islands go inactive for a couple of days, for the simple reason that we have a huge lead, and we spend a lot of time which keeps that lead from shrinking. So no, new players could not catch up, because the top level will grow along with them, but they could reach the current level of the top #1 spot in a few months, that if they put in time and effort.
Sorry if this isn’t too clear.

 

As an administrator to this server, do you really need to be more sarcastic and hostile than most of the player base? I get we can be tough to handle, but you’re the one whose supposed to put on the fake smile and consider our suggestions; not patronize the community for expressing their displeasure.

An admin would actually want change but seeing how you always want to support their friends opinion like always and don't see the other side then that kinda shows you don't really want change? Especially since players who don't understand towny go back to sky block then leave cause its a bit too difficult or can't make it anywhere like always. I can go on if you'd like, up to you. I just like pointing out the obvious that everyone already knows.

Also, by rare items, do you also mean the armor and sword that were released, as well as the totem of undying? Cause they don't do anything since pvp isn't something for sky block lol.

I get that Im "Supposed to" do things in your eyes. However when I see people trying to use bully tactics on a minecraft server to get their way, I turn off my listening ears and get as sarcastic as the people making the (demands). When a post this this

You lose all credibility in the argument. The issue is no longer about baltop, skyblock, ect and the thoughts that may have been there in the beginning, Its now a flame fest with toxic players that dont know anything about servers or running them. Its just the same old people finding a new thing to complain and rant about. Thats why people like DK have gone to the "troll" side of things because they're irrelevant and offer nothing but negativity without any actual effort to change them. They just like to find the new thing to complain about and do it, pretending they're winning every argument while hiding behind a forum. Its really really sad and to be honest I dont care how people like this see me, because theirs no good from any side of the bias standpoint they bring.

Keep in mind, this is a reoccurring thing with certain players who just cry about literally everything.

Now if you want to offer me an actual suggestion about how we can fix this really tiny dilemma what you've made into a huge sob fest, please offer. Im always on teamspeak but im sure youll just cry here more for some publicity. We can all get together and actually go over some things but I wont reply more here as its a very non efficient way to handle any type of change discussion.

 

Instead of saying "y'all salty," try saying something about the issue/suggestion here? Its not that hard at all. Everyone sees a problem with sky block, how others have spawners that help them get items such as the wings book, or diamond tier generators? There are some, such as Riri, and Roxy who don't see a problem, but thats cause spawners basically make them rich, allowing them to get perks that others can't. Its not me crying, cause even I went through getting my is to the top, at least top 10 unless its gone down, which,in that case, I can make it go up again. Its not hard at all, but you can't make money with being on is top. Yeah, theres a challenge, where if you get to like, is level 1000 (?) you get 10k. But thats it. From completing all challenges, all you get its 294k, in total. Now, that doesn't include anything players want to buy, just like the ghast tear you buy from /warp sbshop. Its 1k each per ghast tear, and its basically impossible to get on from the sb nether. Tell me, how many people have gotten a ghast tear from a ghast in sb nether? I haven't seen any at all there, i've only heard them, and even I fear trying to go outwards due to the limited space sb has, that being a 100x100 radius. If you do actually want change, then add spawners so everyone has a fair chance with getting money. Yeah, as roxy said, you can sell stuff in /warp sbshop, but thats nothing. You can sell dirt, but who will since its something players need for crops? You can sell ores, such as diamonds, gold, and emeralds, but who will since 1. diamond can make armor, 2. diamond is hard to get, 3. ore tier generators are basically impossible for them to get? You can sell carrots and potatoes, but people need that for challenges, or for food.

What I'm waiting and hoping is that the holos suggestion I made gets accepted. I'm one of the few people who has iron golem spawners. I want to make a shop so that people can go to and sell things to me since they can barely make money. I barely play sb anymore but want others who still play it to be able to make some money and, hopefully, make it to is top or somewhere around there.

Is this what you wanted? Its not for publicity for anyone. I only care about the players. Although I will say I'm toxic, you can check logs for times I've tried helping players out. Not that completely toxic unlike certain people.

It really doesn't make sense to erase the hours people put into their island just to appease a digital list, especially since Skyblock has never been a competitive gamemode nor is it one today. Additionally any competition of building a better island doesn't lie with a numerical score assigned to blocks that you may or may not put down.

The idea of skyblock having some unified economy inherently attacks the core attraction of the game itself - which is scarcity and challenge. What the goal kind of seems to be from an outside look is to turn skyblock into Towny 2.0 filled with grinders the sole pursuit of generating a digital currency.

Skyblock is about building an awesome island with what you started with, with a group of friends, nothing competitive about that.

 

But how will I impress my mom?

 

get a job, get married, stop playing video games, get out of her basement, and do something with your life lol
