I mean it's not really independent. He is part of the same party that has recused themselves from investigations on this very issue, yet are not recused. He's part of the same party who has been glaringly avoiding real governance in lieu of party politics.

You are aware humans have individual agency right? Just because he was in the republican party doesn't mean squat. There's no vetting process to be a member of the GOP, you don't have to be a republican or a conservative.

 

You are aware this human was claiming to represent Flynn. The guy doing shady lobby work for foreign nations and lying about it?

Not before he was hired by the Trump administration, who oddly enough keeps trying to get the investigation dropped/hamperered, despite telling them than he was being investigated for unreported work for foreign nations.

Does explain why Trump keeps trying to nix the investigation and keeps calling him a good guy.

How can a member of the opposition party run an independent investigation? Wouldn't bias taint everything he did?

You misunderstand me. He is independent as in he shouldn't be used to judge anyone other then himself and people who directly collaborated with this specific thing. Any morally reprehensible things he does are his own actions and anyone who helped him with said morally reprehensible things.

 

@Deinen You make no sense. How can Trump fire Flynn before he is even hired? You think Trump just knew Flynn was doing everything he did before he hired him? If I lie on my job application and a company hires me, and then 6 months later they fire me for lying on my application, who's fault is that?

WHAT IS THE PROBLEM HERE?

If it's political bias then why was Loretta Lynch and Comey allowed to investigate Hillary? They had enough evidence to put her in prison but Lynch told Comey to "Call it a matter" and then ahhh just drop the charges. It's no big deal.

As per the SCOTUS interpretation of the 10th Amendment, the federal government may not "commandeer the legislative processes of the states by directly compelling them to enact and enforce a federal regulatory program."

Also cutting funding based on political views would be unconstitutional for the Federal Government to do, and "liberal arts" is a name for the arts, not ideology you absolute numpty.

Not quite what I'm saying. I'm saying that it's unconstitutional to force state officials to enforce federal law, see above.

Also: why the arts schools? Berkeley is one of the best STEM schools in the US, it might become a sanctuary school.

Your timeline is wrong.

Flynn worked for another nation as a lobbyist. He did not register as a foreign agent which you are supposed to.

Flynn was being vetting for his position as the head of national security, not just any old job. He was also under investigation for working as a foreign agent, which he notified the vetting team - which was lead by Pence remember?

Trump & Pence hired him, after being informed by Flynn's lawyer, and Sally Yates that Flynn was under investigation.

Trump fired Flynn and says he was lied to, which isn't true cause Flynn's lawyer informed them during the vetting process.

Trump then asks Coney to maybe let Flynn go, he's a good guy.

We find out Flynn not only worked for Russia and never registered, but also for Turkey.

Trump , being rebuked by Comey, asks Mike Rogers and other Intel chiefs to intervene in the investigation, or at the least, come out publicly and rebuke it, Rogers doesn't do this.

Now we find out Flynn nay have played a role of getting Clinton emails from a Russian hacker.

Just innocent coincidences, eh?

@lfpnub I don't care how good Berkeley is. For a government funded school to shut down Conservative speakers is insane and they shouldn't receive anymore funding. All because the antifa gets upset when they talk. How about any student that goes crazy when a Conservative speaks doesn't get their degree and doesn't get a refund.

1. The school didn't shut down Coulter. She cancelled.
2. The fact Flynn was hired is the issue. He was warned far in advance, and kept Flynn on the transition team. Which is when Flynn met Sergey (Russian name I can't spell) who is literally the spymaster for Russia.
