Can you cite any terrorists that have attacked our country that originate from those countries?

What about Saudi Arabia who most of the 9/11 hijackers originated from, or Pakistan who housed Osama Bin Laden?

You are right calling it a "Muslim ban" actually defocuses the discussion into moot points. The outstanding fact is that those 7 countries targeted have not produced the threat that is being claimed by that executive order, which is why the courts denied it repeatedly, Trump was not able to offer a shred of evidence supporting his position.

But that isn't fake because there can be an actual discussion of the topic on the merits of the facts. There is very real merit in the counter argument to the "not discriminatory" talking point, as Deljikho has brought up. If I employed 15 people and I fire 5 of them for hailing from 7 Muslim majority countries, I would be found guilty of discrimination with labor laws on the books and be liable civil/criminally.

We're entering very dangerous grounds on how we use these new terms such as "fake news" or "alternative facts" and we cannot give these notions any legitimacy. Fake news is journalism that outright purports false to be true, not simply biased. If we use the standard of bias then every single media organization there is is outright fake news and it simply isn't true. All the claim does is self-admit that you are not intelligent enough to parse through an article and identify what is true and what is false.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

But we're ignoring the very real issue at heart - That is America is not in the shape of doom and gloom that Trump & Co is pushing. The world has never been less violent and safer than it is currently which also goes for America. Despite just coming out of a waning cycle of economy, which capitalism is known for it's up and downs, we've never had more wealth in any point in time. Our country is not under threat from terrorists and it never was - The damage done wasn't even a single drop in a single bucket.

The sad fact is humans in general are pretty crappy - Thus any measures we put in place we're bound to get some bad apples in a bunch and this is not something that is avoidable, the question is, do we change who we are as a people in the name of fear or do we simply accept the world is a dangerous place and continue to do the very thing that directly made our country the best on the planet - Be a country of immigrants.

It's a massive deal in many ways the first and foremost being the cost of this. Not only are U.S federal tax payers paying to house the first family in two locations, but New Yorkers are paying more proportionally for this, due to the drain on their police department and other functions. This is a massive issue when at the same time Trump's administration is proposing to slash funding to public broadcasting which give us PBS / NPR.

Outside the public money issue - Are you able to imagine the strangle this is putting on all the businesses around Trump tower who now have almost no foot traffic due to this security? This is so anti-thetical to a pro-business person that there can be, he is only pro-his-business, and cares not for others.

Again, I ask, can anyone cite and examples of Trump doing anything that promotes the following?

    1) Making America First
    2) Bringing back a labor force / industry
    3) Making this country safer
    4) Fixing the immigration system

I've always refrained from alluring to Hitler with Trump, but recently with his "media is the enemy of the people" statement (which has literally been said verbatim by many many authoritarian regimes), it's quite clear he's attempting to be a authoritarian leader and I can only hope that our system is strong enough to withstand the attacks from him - If not, we're likely going to see a fundamental shaping of our society, system, and government that will not to be our benefit.

    But seriously

Can any Trump supporter please cite any example of him doing anything good, or sane yet?

Why would a media outlet give trump credit for doing something good if they want to paint him as hitler 2.0 and make the women's march look like the mens march on june 6 1944

So you are saying in four years he completely reversed his stupidity? I would only assume it's the most logical assumption - Donald Trump is a stupid human being.

Are you not curious why Russia, a nation eager to return to superpower status - one that has been increasingly flex it's muscle around the world and has literally tried it's hardest to get the man who is threatening to weaken NATO in power? Do you not ask what Russia gains and we lose in this deal? Russia lead by Putin, the man who has over his reign returned Russia from a fledging democracy to an authoritarian nation who controls press, speech and religion?

I won't even argue the merits of his policy plans because his words are literally worth nothing, even to those who support him and blindly ignore all the obvious facts to his delusional state.

THE MAN YOU VOTED FOR HAS ACTIVELY REACHED OUT TO A CONSPIRACY THEORIST THAT LITERALLY BELIEVES OBAMA AND CLINTON ARE DEMONS FROM ACTUAL LITERAL HELL.

Alex Jones: Trump called to thank me

    SERIOUSLY?

I mean vote in your self interest man, nothing to be ashamed for there. But at least admit your dude is an idiot. A fat orange idiot.

PS: Get your name out of the system with sovereign immunity because the government is full of Masons and illuminati. They even track us via cash with RFID chips, it's in the upper left corner on the front of the bill under the owl, Moloch, a god of Babylon.

Hello, I'm Deinen. Look at twitter posts made in 2012. Please use these to judge political insight instead of facts like, Russia and Syria want to work with him. All participants in nafta say ok to rediscussing the deal. His healthcare policy is ace. His 2nd amendment and hearing protection act are ace.

But forget that, please use the fight they had on social media to base an opinion. Heres 47 more links to democratic, 1 sided, irrelevant arguments

I'm just dissapointed the Democratic and Republican establishments didn't choose better candidates.

No offence to Hillary or Trump supporters, but there are people out there that could have made a difference, Democraft or Republican, and united the UNITED States, rather than dividing them further.

    Electoral College pls

Well duh, you can easily group them together that way.

    Jokes aside

Using the logic that since he said it he did indeed do that and that we take him at his word does it not legitimize this behavior? Why should I face any consequences when he can do such a thing, then be elected as President?

Well thus far all his blunders are explained with a best case scenario of "He's incompetent"

Almost literally everyone he's hired now fired. Some positions have been fired multiple times.

He has a communications director that drunk calls reporters and says the chief strategist, Bannon - Now fired, sucks his own ....

He's failed on a promise to drain the swamp - Except all the people he's fired from his own cabinet

His current chief of staff literally limits what Trump sees because he's an idiot.

He spends more time on vacation on golf courses than doing his actual job

He has been directly involved with nothing successful yet

    He consistently tells falsehoods

The issue of the massive profit he is making from the office of the Presidency, directly profiting from government services.

Could you name one good thing he has done for our country - Not a byproduct of him being President, but something he's directly been involved with and successfully accomplished.

Why would this wall solve all the problems all of our other walls not solve? Plus it changed from a wall to a fence, essentially, that doesn't cover the entire border so there are points people will still cross. Not to mention the party and guy of small government has no issues taking land from a ton of people to build this fence.

What prevents someone from just building a ladder or digging a hole? What prevents them from using the rivers or other water sources?

The issue with "the" wall is that it is not nearly as effective as common sense and reasonable immigration laws/reform it's just a talking point to whip his overwhelmingly under-educated and gullible base up.

Can you provide any reasons why this wall would be good?

This type of response is beneath the Wubb8t that I know.

Are you asserting Russia had nothing to do with any interference attempt?

Are you asserting Clinton did not win the popular vote?

Are you asserting that members from Trump Campaign did not meet with anyone linked with the Russian government about receiving damaging information about Clinton?

That's the thing, you realistically couldn't implement the change that I said I would like to see and even if you could it would be rife with corruption and used for things more evil than good.

    I get that.

It just grinds my gears we have a section of population that consider the well-being of our country as second to pissing off liberals. I'm not talking about Trump voters or even supporters as a whole, hell, most of my best friends are super-Trump supporters and I don't dislike them or hate them. I disagree with them and openly question their critical thinking skills but they are good people.

But you have a solid core of people who are actively subverting our country at this point it seems and what I want (not necessarily what is best) is that we implement some sort of fix with some punitive edge for people who want to engage in politics not in good faith and reason.

There is a massive example between you, a Republican that I don't necessarily agree with on the solution to issues (that we do agree on) and a Trump supporter who is purposely ignoring all information that runs counter to a narrative they've constructed.

People like you care about our nation and try to use reason and logic to dictate a solution - I can respect this and it makes my worldview grow and evolve.

The other group? They are more or less worthless - What do they add?

    ----

A realistic first step to solving the issue I'm talking about is continuing the fight to fix gerrymandering. No party should be drawing lines which makes the next election more advantageous to themselves. It should be done by a non-political third party, the census bureau or the CBO or similar agency that works with the data only.

A great second step is changing education curriculum to include somewhat comprehensive civics material so that public education studies graduate high school with at some sort of grasp of how our nation runs.

Edit: -- I mentioned Trump supporters primarily but I failed to mention the other side -

The left absolutely has their share of people that absolutely should also be excluded. People who demand safe spaces in order to shut down any opposing thoughts or speech are just as much of a threat to our country as anyone else.

Because Donald Trump is President and has shown massive nepotism.

Hillary Clinton is not President, but if evidence is found she did something illegal then she certainly should face the charges that fit, absolutely.

But you are not getting my point - Donald Trump Jr, Jared Kushner and Paul Manafort had a meeting with a Kremlin-linked lawyer while they were under the impression that she had damaging information on Clinton.

Do you not get the seriousness of this? They literally colluded with not only a foreign government, but a foreign government who has been our adversary for decades and are actively trying to destabilize portions of the world.

Not only this, but the information they were seeking would have been attained by the hacking Russian operatives did -- Hacking is a federal felony in America. The emails Jr. released have actually made a very strong argument for conspiracy of criminal intent -- Which is a very serious crime. They deny Trump knew about it but if history says anything that is a lie and very shortly we'll be seeing evidence of direct opposition to that claim.

Check this picture out, the woman in the middle with the phone staring at Ambassador McFaul's laptop screen is Natalia Veselnitskaya, the same Kremlin linked lawyer they had the meeting with.

How did she just front-row seats?

    Michael McFaul on Twitter

She was invited by Congressman Rohrabacher, also anti-sanctions.

Where has this name come up before? Remember that little snippet of leaks audio from Paul Ryan?

House majority leader to colleagues in 2016: ‘I think Putin pays’ Trump

    "
McCarthy: There’s…there’s two people, I think, Putin pays: Rohrabacher and Trump…[laughter]…swear to God.

Ryan: This is an off the record…[laughter]…NO LEAKS…[laughter]…alright?!
    "

-- This was regarding a money laundering case suddenly dismissed, as well.

    Who was prosecuting this case?

Well whaddya know, Preet Bharara - The same one oddly and quickly fired by Trump, before the case was dismissed.

The point is the NYT is hyperbolic at the expense of truth. Its not just the NYT either, its the entire corporate news complex, coupled with an audience of people who don't question anything as long as it fits there narrative. Fortunately, anyone with an internet connection can get there opinions out there. Independent journalism is the future, MSM is dying.
    --- Double Post Merged, Jul 5, 2017, Original Post Date: Jul 5, 2017 ---
@Deljikho The corporate media complex as a whole has continuously shot its own credibility in the head, so when the best you can show to prove "donald trump is a russia sleeper agent cyborg robot zombie ninja alien" is "anonymous sources" were understandably skeptical.
