Introduction:

Hello my name is Perryjay (I would rather not state real name) I am 13 years old and I am applying for the helper rank!

I believe it is time for me to once again improve my role within the Meepcraft community to ensure it can be the best possible. I have been helper before and have applied twice. Both of my applications have been put through to interview, one of them then accepted and the other had to be denied because I was banned.

I am hoping that the big incidence where I got banned doesn’t affect my application; in my opinion, it was all a big misunderstanding and I’d like to leave it behind me.

A bit about me:

I am a very sporty person out of game. I have been doing many sports for about 9 years now. I do really enjoy doing my sports because I love getting involved with new people, doing the team competitions and getting a medal/trophy at the end of it.

Swimming is probably my biggest and favourite sport. I have come really far in swimming, starting when I was just 2! I have been able to come in the top 5 of my county and swim with some of the best swimmers in the country.

I also play a lot of football and I am a black belt in tae-kwon-doe.

Why I should be Helper?

I believe I deserve to be a helper/mod because I have had past experience as a staff member on Meepcraft. Although my time was short, I had time to learn about a lot of the commands involved within the helper rank and how this position helps the server and its community.

I do also have a good relationship with some of the staff members and members of Meepcaft which I think is a real plus point as it helps bring our amazing community together.

In my first experiences as staff, I really got to know the staff team and their different roles and so on. I learnt a few commands to do with modreqs, the logs, but I feel that I missed out on a lot and things that I want to come back and learn now.

Back when I was a staff member I filed and completed many modreq’s in a short period of time. I’m not saying that modreq’s are a big part of the staff role because they aren’t, but I believe it is very useful for other members of staff to be able to rely on someone to do the modreq’s when they are busy doing other things such as helping players or doing modreq’s themselves.

I have had past experiences working in roles that link in with staff work. Most of this has been in school. I do a lot of things in groups and often take charge to make sure everything goes smooth and is completed. This benefits me as a staff member because I will be able to sort out situations to the best of my ability and make sure that everything is running smoothly.

Another plus point about my past experience is that I have been able to improve on all the constructive criticism that I have been given and have had a lot of time to be able to change who I am.

The reasons I want to be staff:

There are a few reasons as to why I have come back and want to be staff.

The first one is because I miss the whole staff community, skype chats, modreqs etc.. and I feel as though my short time as being staff didn’t really allow me to be able to do and be part of all these things. Then when I tried to get back, my app was denied whilst I was waiting for my interview. This set me back quite a bit as I thought that now I was banned, I wouldn’t be able to get staff again.

The main reason as to why I want to be staff, is that I don’t think I’ve achieved everything I could achieve as a staff member. I never really got to find out all the different commands in game and on forums. So now I really want to get back and find out what these commands were. I really want to do a better job as staff then I have done before.

Over the period of time where I have not been staff, I have seen many people who have resigned/ been demoted. So when I look at it now, not only have some of my favourite staff members have gone, there is beginning to be a lack in staff support. I’m not saying that there aren’t enough staff members, because we do have quite a lot, but I want to be one of the staff who stays staff for a long time and can be the one who is recognised for their good work.



My Weaknesses:

As many people probably expect from a kid of my age, I can be immature at times. I am not extremely immature, in fact people have said I am indeed mature for my age, but it can happen as I am just a kid. I have gotten older, since my last app, and I think I have become a lot more mature then I was then.

My activity on Teamspeak also isn’t the best. I have been trying hard to get my activity up but it takes me a lot of courage to talk to people I don’t know and haven’t met before. Although once I have gotten into a conversation it does become alright.

I am known to sometimes get a bit distracted, so when I am in a task I may get dragged away from it but this is definitely a point that I can work and improve on to make sure I can be as good as I am able.

Conclusion:

I would first off like to say thank you for taking the time to read my helper application. I really believe that this is my time to really get back and do well as a staff member. I am hoping that nothing steps in my way this time and that I can have a good, long period of being a staff member.

Once again I would like to say thank you for reading my application and I hope that you will consider me yet again becoming a member of our amazing staff team. Hopefully this time I can do better (3rd time lucky)

Unfortunately, you're going to have to talk about it if you want to be staff, whether it's here or in an interview. I was surprised and disappointed to see that you didn't include it in your application...

You were banned for duping. Yes, it was duping, and as a former staff member you should have known that, regardless of the misunderstanding that later occurred. That fact is not going to go away just because you want it to. There are other staff members (as well as people who are accepted for interview) who have made mistakes in their past and have less-than-clean ban histories. But they have confronted those mistakes and those histories head-on, showing that they understand what they did wrong (even if there were circumstances that made it not entirely their fault, they understood that they WERE at least partially at fault), and showing that they have learned from it and taken the opportunity to grow.

Without seeing you do that... I'm afraid I could not trust you as a staff member and could not support this application. I do think you have some great qualities that would serve you well as a Helper, like friendliness, helpfulness, and dedication to the server. So I really hope you change your mind and decide to address this issue, however uncomfortable and long of a story it might be.

People do dumb things, you're dumb thing is slightly more complicated. You duped after you were told there were no rules making that method illegal. While common sense should have prevailed on all parties involved, the two demoted staff over this lead me to believe that had they done their job, none of this would have happened in the first place, so.
