Are you talking about the Dark Ages? About Crueltygaming and his friends? Yeah, he bought the server or something and made it partial-hub with Fuzzlr, about a year ago.

 

2 and a half years ago*

 

When the server was getting bigger, Fuzzlr needed help running the server. So two owners of other servers and Fuzzlr decided to merge with meepcraft. Fuzzlr was still owner at this time, though he isn't the best at bargaining so instead of finding an easy medium of the two servers, it became the "other server's" culture (which they only had like 200 players max I think, we had 1300 players peaking). Pretty much our entire staff (I was a mod then) was demoted and things were dealt with an iron fist with their staff. If any former staff posted anything negative about the new owners, they were blacklisted and unable to appeal (basically IP ban from my understanding), pretty much all former meep staff spoke out because we all saw this was a bad change and it was a slap to our faces. I did post something about the negative impacts, so I was blacklisted a few moments after so I'm not sure what happened afterwards but all I know is that player count dropped a lot, culture/community was fractured, bad things were happening.

CG was eventually dumped due to his negative impact on the server (and I also heard he used Fuzzlr's money for his own gain? Can anyone confirm?). Though he was dumped late, we only had like 300 players peaking when he left. Slowly the player count has been dying down ever since.

 

Okay, thanks @Dart_Knight, I wasn't sure or not, I don't remember ever seeing any other owner then fuzzlr but I do remember the whole demotion of staff and the bans, it got really out of control.

Just a question for fuzzlr and the other admins, How come we haven't tried to get a youtuber back on meep to film vids? Cuzz I remember when preston was playing we gained at least 200, if not more, people from that, and slowly even more....(Others are more than welcome to take a jab at answering this question)

 

Yeah, he was mainly demoted for his motive of deleting the whole towny server and resetting ranks. He succeeded with the first.

Oh my god this was when cruelty and his minions banned me for speaking out over him banning all the other mods.

It was literately the first day they appeared to us on the server and started banning mods left and right.
