Whether I get my rank back or not, I will continue to play on Meepcraft. Granted, having my rank was nice, I am not concerned with the loss of it, or the money spent on it, considering I have enjoyed playing on Meepcraft, and will continue when it is back up and running.

And if need be, I will just repurchase ranks again, if they happen to still exist in the new Meepcraft.

Who on earth said we should be Eula compliant? Surely you saw the reaction to perks being returned?

 

Mojang did in fact blacklist Meep, but staff was able to create a workaround for that. Now unfortunately there is another isolated incident that has caused the server to temporarily close. They haven't lied, I think just because the two incidents are so close together that you've assumed they're related. Hopefully that's some clarification.

 

This, and the blacklist are only peripherally related. Someone got pissed that the staff pointed a middle finger at Mojang and returned perks, and thus deleted all the files from the server.

 

yes and i bet it was squid that hacked because squid is an illegal website.

Meep was blacklisted, that is no longer an issue

yeah but did you see bloopers thread 'we need to know' some players are also concerned why we became not eula compliant and brought back all the perks that broke eula

so basically if we get back those perks we'll be breaking eula that just defeats the purpose

Being Eula compliant at this point would mean removing /chest, /ec, and others, and when Meep was blacklisted was when it had the most business. "Meep's own good" would be breaking Eula and staying Blacklisted like they said they would (or at least that's what Nick said).

 

Wait but is /chest not EULA compliant?

the "hack" was by someone ALREADY here IN our tech team

 

So we were attacked by our own kind. That's nice to hear.

 

Also, how is it that easy to just mess the entire server up? Is there no required consent before an update is made?

 

Hey man, just to clarify--the only think SquidHQ could infect is our computers. If we were logging in using SquidHQ, the server cannot be directly harmed by it. SquidHQ isn't an official Mojang launcher; it's a third-party launcher, so some people were concerned that it might install malware on our computers.

The fact that it's illegal (whether or not it's illegal is a debate for another thread) isn't relevant--SquidHQ cannot hack the Meepcraft servers and wipe the files.
