I am in it for the community alone, I have made many friends in my time on meepcraft and sure the perks helped out but hey, something new so let's jump in head first, have some fun, and grow the community!

 

Two months later.. Very upsetting to see none of these promised perks. I don't play actively anymore, I admit it. I also admit that the perks probably won't make a big difference, but they were promised to us. An update on this would be greatly appreciated, and I hope the perks are added soon.

/fly would be extremely useful to mods when doing things like looking for xray or just ease of use in some certain situations

 

I admit, its extremely disconcerting to double jump and not leap into the air. Other than /fly, I'm not sure I will miss too many of the perks - I guess /fix is the next perk I use most.

If it was only me, I'd probably be freaking out, but since we're all in it together . . . who knows, maybe having everyone on a lot more even playing field might improve the game. Time will tell. People who are freaking out should maybe take a deep breath and a step back for a little bit.

You were actually the first person I thought of - you've poured money into this server and I'm not sure the swings and roundabouts are going to apply to you appropriately. Again, time will tell. If I were you, I'd put a halt to spending meebles for a few days.

As to other servers - they haven't been shut down YET. Once they are, I wonder how hard it will be for them to restart.

But before I do, might I suggest un-nerfing villager spawning for Legends? That might mitigate some of the pain. Maybe.

 

I know that they will cater to the parents. I just hate that the parents who can't be responsible for their children ruin the game for the rest of us.

 

I knew this was coming, I am fine with it, my $80 was not wasted at all I supported something I love more than my perks, the community

 

I litteraly depend on nightvison, is there some other thing we could do like maybe in the elite shop sell night vision potions for free but give it a special tag so once someone picks up the potion is just goes away, so that it can't be distributed for money.

Also about the mining spawners, does that mean anyone can mine a spawner and use it or you have to be elite+ to use it.

Not trying to set anyone off, but what do all of these perks have to do with Towny? They're all minigame/hub server stuff. Again, not gonna start a flame war.

I am incredibly sorry everyone is raging. Everyone is frustrated with the EULA in general. It simply shuts down any chance of non-hub servers succeeding. Face it, there is not a single disguise or "gadget" (that is just cosmetic) that is worth $100.

Therefore, we can fix this by following some of the threads in the suggestions forum. We can re-add every perk if it can be obtained without using hard currency only. I personally think we would benefit from changing the way Meep is played. With tweaks to the way things were, we can make everything EULA compliant by making ourselves "pay for speed" instead of "pay for perks." Similar to many "free to play" games, using hard currency is not necessary to get everything, but it speeds it up considerably.

In addition, I want to personally thank the Admins for fixing everything on such short notice. I would greatly enjoy discussion about things we can do to make Meep better than ever.

To those arguing for a reset, let me tell you something. A reset will not fix anything long-term. Yes, it will bring players back . . . for a few days. I know of a server that has biannual resets. Know what happens? Everyone "comes back" right at the reset, and builds up. Then they all leave again within a week until the next reset. This is not the community Meep has. This server succeeds not because of the perks, but because of the community. The thing is, the community relies on these perks to balance the economy. Everyone seems to love complaining about how "bad" the economy is, but . . . it works, doesn't it?

Meep as a whole is at a crossroads. No matter what decisions are made, the majority of the community needs to be on board, while still complying to the EULA. As I said, it doesn't really work as it is, but the EULA is what we're stuck with, so we have to make it work for us.

Tell the parents to get off their lazy butts and actually be a parent. Supervise young children when going online and don't give their children access to their credit cards.

As much as I would love that, that's way too cheap. Maybe like 500k-1 mil, that would make it more worth it and a bigger milestone. It would also encourage players to play a lot more.
