Make Chat Easier to Read for New Players / Reduce Chat Spam

Although, on the topic of chat channels, maybe we could get another channel added "/tr" for "Trade".
• Any trade/shop advertisements would belong in this chat.
• Players should be able to toggle this channel on/off too.
• Warnings would be given out to enforce this channel and encourage people to use it as intended. After 2 warnings and still not posting in the correct chat, then you could punish with a kick - "Please use /tr (message) for ads."
• Ads must be spaced out by 1-2 minutes (approximate time), or to the point where you would at least have to scroll up in chat to see the same message again.

Either way, 1 minute is an excessive amount of time. This is a community based server.
You cannot have a community based server if there is no community.

 

I don't talk alot in chat, but what happens when i am talking to someone in TownsA, when i'm in TownsB, or the Wild or ?
They are not in the same Nation or the same town that I am.
/NC or /TC are not going to work.

If you have a problem with chat spam, I might recommend TabbyChat, or something similar.

I do like /ignore. [Player]
or maybe a command to turn off chat all together.

 

/pwarp market comes to mind real fast. I swear he probably has a macro set.

+1 to being able to toggle chat.

 

Honestly /g is for everyone to have their fun in it.
It's not fair to limit how much the community can interact.
New players will get used and even get involved as I'm sure we all did.

Yes, i Agree its to have fun and perhaps it can be changed a different way but the 1 min timer is what came to mind. It is NOT being limited it is being controlled (there is a difference) as Onis just made the /tc cross server, and with the /w, /l, /msg there are many many way to communicate and interact with all players! Putting a timer on /g will no kill anyone but all the people that "think" the game revolves around them as was clearly stated in one of the first few replies (#8 i think)! The "world" should "revolve" around NEW PLAYERS that won't be able to adjust fast enough and end up just QUITTING cause they could not get the help or information they needed because of the /g chat spam!

I agree fully with what you're trying to say. Chat is very spammy and may be unappealing to some new players. I just don't think an entire minute is exactly "fair", if you will.
Reduce the cool-down time by some to allow players to actually converse in global, but not pile it on, and my vote may change.

I dont See any real player interaction other than when some popular guy comes on and everyone says hi.

1) It's nearly impossible to have a conversation with any major timer, especially 1m. While these are not all that common, they do indeed happen, and they are usually enjoyable and we certainly don't want to end that.

2)Onis and Fuzzlr certainly would have put the timer in already if they felt the need, it's been discussed so many times. As of this point, I would have to assume they have chosen not too.
