According to FBI data, 4,906 black people murdered other blacks in 2010 and 2011. That is 1,460 more black Americans killed by other blacks in two years than were lynched from 1882 to 1968, according to the Tuskegee Institute.
It would take cops 40 years to kill as many black men as have died at the hands of others black men in 2012 alone: And that is accounting for justified shootings.
So instead of going after cops why not focus on black on black crime? The answer is easy, we rather not look at that inconvenient truth because it is easier to pull the race card.

This is an issue where I often find myself disagreeing with people I usually agree with.
I think the thing people hate to admit is that black people are prone to more crime. And before people get their panties in a not, no this doesn't mean I think all black people are bad or that white people are any better. This doesn't necessarily mean that skin color makes you a criminal--because skin color doesn't really affect behavior. This just means black people grow up in a life style that makes such behavior more likely. This is a result of de facto segregation that is still part of our society decades after de jure segregation was legal.
The problem isn't cops. The problem is the system. If you want to end violence, then you have to get the crux of the problem.
Fund more education to prevent the incentive for kids to join gangs. Fund after school programs. Fix up the housing market in low-income areas. Stop throwing people in jail for drug use. And even if necessary, allow concealed carry in areas with high crime rates.
Only after you stop blaming the wrong people and accept facts will you see real change. The cry for attention in the media won't work if all they do is try to reform the way police work, which won't make a significant difference in the long run.Enron, Maneo, _Gimble_1. and 3 others like this. -
You have to compare statistics between races, not just look up statistics about black people.

All groups are biased. That being said, like any other group, a large portion of people within are absolute idiots. However, there are people within BLM that possess common sense, and occasionally say some interesting things.
But there has been forms of systemic racism within large portions of our society, even in law enforcement areas. It's no surprise that a section of people simply become angry, and shout nonsense, and act belligerent. Generally these topics tend to be an all or nothing debate, when the truth lies closer somewhere in the middle. We tend to align closely with groups that match our own view, and tend to dislike groups that differ.--- Double Post Merged, Apr 13, 2016, Original Post Date: Apr 13, 2016 ---

The majority of mandatory minimums were created in the 1980's after the death of Len Bias to combat drug traffickers. Again, in order to trigger a federal mandatory minimum sentence you need to be carrying hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of contraband. Oh wait nevermind they were created to enslave the black and hispanic populations.
I clearly don't value black lives which is why I would call myself a brother to three black teenagers who my family and I have let live with us after they were orphaned. You don't know me, don't accuse me of something as serious as that.
When the wild white guilt riddled liberal is presented with facts and doesn't know how to respond they throw out made up words and accuse you of racism. I love it.
I am happy to have this conversation end because you have not addressed any of my arguments, and now bring up ad hominems. All you seem to do is repeat what you have heard from other sources without having a critical or original thought of your own on the issues.Last edited: Jun 5, 2016MeepLord27, CluelessKlutz, Ranger0203 and 1 other person like this. -
First I would like to say that I admire your spirit, you provide good statistics and explanations of your arguments. First time I've ever been able to have a rational conversation with someone who identifies as a BLM activist. (I've had dozens)
Before I respond to your first post, let explain my position. Racism exists, and there are racist police officers. However these scattered examples do not represent the idea that racism exists systematically in the United States.
-Homicide: Despite accounting for 13% of the United States population, blacks commit the majority of homicides.
-Robbery: Despite accounting for 13% of the United States population, blacks commit 8 times more robberies than the white majority.
-Carjacking: Despite accounting for 13% of the United States population, blacks commit the majority of carjackings.
And the list goes on.
Considering blacks commit a majority of many major crimes, it is therefore logical that they will feature far more than whites in any negative interactions with the police. Yet despite this, according the The Guardians study that you cited, whites are killed by police more than any other racial group.
I may respond to the rest of your arguments in the near future. (I will edit the post). I just got super lazy because I'm tired and want to sleep.
Don't misunderstand what I'm trying to say here. There are problems of racism in our country today, however I don't see any examples of that being implemented across the country in a systemic manner. I believe that in an overzealous attempt to fix our system BLM has incited anger and hate across the country.
Those around me that affiliate themselves with the movement only work to create more conflict between the black community and law enforcement. A friend of mine's cousin was shot and killed by a white police officer while robbing a convenient store in 2014. His animosity towards cops increased immensely after this. He made sure that every time he saw a cop he'd exclaim some profane remark or throw up an obscene gesture. He proudly affiliates with BLM with so many others like him. Until reading your post, I had never come across a BLM activist that was at all rational, respectful, or intelligent. Many of these people (especially in university) are nothing but entitled pretentious snobs who want to jump on the social justice train and fight the "oppressors".
The reasons I put words like "oppressors" and "systematic" in quotation marks is because I believe these words often misrepresent what is actually happening in our country. By doing so, these movements and people are only making the problem worse by shifting the blame to a sometimes imaginary source and masking the problem.
I'll probably expand on this when I wake up.RaidByNightOnly, Enron, CluelessKlutz and 1 other person like this. -
I believe that yes, there are still racial tensions in the world and that there are good people in this world fighting peacefully for complete civil equality but the Black Lives Matter group is not made up of these people. They believe that only black lives matter but I personally believe that all lives matter no matter what is different about you. Our differences are the things that makes each and every one of us special. Skin color, ethnicity, etc. do not matter in defining whose life is more important then others. We are all humans, we are all equally important, we all can make a difference in this world and change it for the better. We all live on this good Earth and we need to learn to take care of be respectful towards others no matter our differences.
Also in saying this, I know this is a bit off topic but @TheDebatheist I am sorry for acting like an immature child on the other debate thread. I hope you can find it in your heart to forgive me and to bury the hatchet.RaidByNightOnly, Splendy, KaiUsesThis and 1 other person like this.
