As already said in this thread before to answer this same statement... I will ONLY kill all the inactive towns which no one wants nor are worth living in. Towns problem and the Economy problem solved at the same time!

Those upkeep numbers are too high, many towns would be forced to raise their taxes drastically as their upkeep quintuples, and residents would constantly lose their plots and/or citizenship. An upkeep increase could be a good idea, but yours is too severe. Too few people would be able to start a town. It may drain the eco but would certainly not fix towns.

Although, the resident tax system is not a bad idea. While residents are few and far between, plots are over-abundant on Meep. Thought 1k/res does seem a bit too mass town-destroying for my taste, I think 100-150 is a fair tax Using this system would provide some use for nations' plot bonuses. One could very easily argue that the resident tax system encourages hermits, but this is solved quite simply, albeit only in part, if the amount of plots allowed increases based on the number of residents. This also ensures that towns aren't all capped at one set plot limit.

That is the whole point! Why have taxes in towny if no one ever pays them except 1 person (aka the mayor). Either way, if you keep all the other prices the same as I listed, it might be easier for the masses to "try" different upkeep numbers: say start at 125 per plot or 500 per resident.

The problem is that managing a large town is difficult enough without forcing them to have to more quickly downsize. An immediate increase in general taxes would more quickly take inactive player plots from those players. Large towns have practice recycling these plots but the tax increases suggested would leave towns with more empty plots than ever before, forcing them to quickly downsize or foot the bill of having tons of unused plots.

At the same time, the prices should be eventually adjusted to fit the state of the economy. Since voting is what has most greatly inflated the economy and the server staff plan on adjusting voting soon, I am certain that any changes to towny prices should be adjusted only after these adjustments have been made and the economy has had time to settle from these changes. Changes should also not be too drastic at one time or large towns will have management nightmares.

@Hornemans , I think many people agree with you that towny prices should be increased, the expenses of towns should be spread between the residents, and that there are advantages to allowing resident taxes. Most people would also appreciate it if you would stop making your suggestions in other suggestions. We shouldn't have to debate two different suggestions here; we should just be talking about towny prices, not resident taxes.

To me "resident/plot" Taxes are "towny prices"... but sorry the OP was not more clear. If the OP was only speaking of, INITIAL or ONE TIME costs then I still stick to my numbers posted above... just ignore the "resident/plot" taxes section I posted. Thanks.

    Denied.

There will be implementations made to counteract the increase of money into the economy. This would make it really challenging for an inexperienced players to tackle an already daunting price.
