Introduction: Hi! I’m Metr0n0me, though you can call me Mike, and I’m a junior in high school. In my spare time I enjoy reading about other peoples and cultures, especially cultural geography—this leads me to have a relatively open mind, something that will tie in well to being staff in MeepCraft. Besides geography, I’m very interested in biology, as the study of how the world works has been very fascinating to me. Additionally, I’m a member of choir (don’t know how I passed the audition), chess team, model UN, and history club at school. At home, I love to play the piano, play basketball with friends, and (don’t judge me) study.

Why should you be Helper? Well, quite simply (as I’ve said on several applications by now) I enjoy helping. Outside MeepCraft, I’ve had experience teaching a math class, teaching piano, and managing a summer camp for elementary schoolers. Through these experiences, I’ve learned how to deal with most people, be it high-schoolers, middle-schoolers, or elementary schoolers. I also can’t state enough how much I enjoy helping others, and the satisfaction it brings.

Another aspect I can bring to the staff team is my communication. At this point in time, I feel as if the communication between the staff team and the playerbase is sorely lacking; staff seem to do their job, and the players play. I seek to change that by interacting as much as possible with the community, having fun, talking, etc. I can only speak for myself, but I enjoy playing with active, helpful, chatty staff more than with a morose staff team. As a staff member, I’ll strive to communicate as best I can with others, and to close the rift between the staff and community. Before taking an action, I always think: “How can this benefit the community?” which I believe is the most appropriate mindset for this job.

Moderating PVP is another strength I have—as a staff member, I had a lot of experience moderating PVP and KitPVP. Since Foretvert resigned and I was demoted, KitPVP has been suffering from a lack of staff attention, and hackers have been running rampant (no offense to any staff members who HAVE been moderating KitPVP, but there will always be hackers). I’ll seek to change that by banning hackers in KitPVP and encouraging the implementation of a sufficient anticheat system.

I vow to stand up to authority and support what I feel is the right thing. I refuse to “suck up” or twist my values around in order to obtain power, money, or glory. If I ever feel as if someone, even a superior, is doing something I don’t believe they should do, I won’t hesitate to notify them.

As a former helper, I already have a thorough understanding of prism, ban lengths, and such. When there’s anything new to learn, I’m a very quick learner and will do my best to grasp the concept completely.

I promise to always give 100%, and my work ethic attests to that.

What are your weaknesses? While I believe I should be a helper, there are several things I need to work on.

My language is something that needs to be improved. As a player, I have numerous language-related bans, and as a helper, language incidents eventually caused my demotion. I feel as if I’ve learned from this experience, and that this will not repeat again.
Similarly, I feel as though my criticism can sometimes be too blunt and unjustified. As a helper last time around, I tried to work on this, but I still have a ways to go.
TS usage: My parents don’t allow Teamspeak, but I’ll be able to come on for meetings and such. However, if you’re looking for someone to moderate teamspeak, I’m probably not your guy.

Please give any other information you might think is useful for us to know: My demotion: I was demoted for cursing too much in shout, and “too many little mistakes adding up”: Claiming multiple modreqs, (though to be fair, I always got them done, I just was really bad at remembering to /done) accidentally advertising another server in /g, multiple unfortunate typos, and the like. I feel as if I’ve learned from these experiences, and that I need to remember to look at what I say before I hit [ENTER]. Over the last few months, I’ve definitely been more careful about this.
