Helper Application from Beaufx

-1 I don’t agree with this because you’re trying to sell all your possessions thinking it will help you get staff. I don’t understand the thought process of that, is it because you think you’ll have to give up everything to be staff? Not a fit candidate.

He is very good at communicating and he has a very nice manner. Maybe I haven't talked to him much, but the times I have, he has done as anyone should react/respond and is very well-mannered. +1 For me and I hope Meepcraft takes his application serious.

Listen Beau,I usually don’t comment while having an application up myself, but you’re quite a player!
you’re a nice and kind person, and I have no doubt you’ll some day make a great member of the Staff team, though I have only two issues.
1. You seem to have trouble confronting problems, earlier today, you mentioned logging off when you got confronted for something you did or said, I recall?
2. Only a few days ago, you were asking players if they’d like to Halo farm for “quick and easy 30k”. Though it’s fine for new Helpers not to know everything things like this, things that can get your permed, should be known.
I can see you’re really kind (You helped me purchase a rank, you made a town for your friend..) but I feel you should get to know the server’s community and “no-no”s slightly more.
Maybe this will come in your staff journey?

The halo thing I checked first thing to see if that was accepted - as a lot of people were doing it. I never really liked PVP. So that was corrected - and I let others know (who also seemed unaware).

For a shot at interview

 

I've been selling items cheap to gather money for Morgen_ and I's new town - Lost_Paradise. As a helper, I honestly don't believe that has anything to do with helping people out with meeps/items. We've been very active with our new town and bringing in new players, teaching them the basics of Meepcraft (Morgen_ has been just as helpful). Not once have I asked a new player to consider my application.

I forgot to mention that once I did learn of this being extremely illegal, I suggested to lord (tech) and clueless that we somehow monitor some of the sessions that happen in Halo, because I know it still goes on.

 

I think everyone should cut @Beaufx some slack. The correct intentions for becoming a staff member—wanting to give back to the community and play a role in the progression of the server— are present and I think that is what matters. @Beaufx is an adult, has a family, and I think we should at the very least give him a shot at Staff. No harm done, and I can bet that he will turn out to be a very beneficial part of the team. Look for instance at some of MeepCraft’s other adult staff/retired-staff members such as @Jess_4Ds and @NinjaRoxy who have turned out to be some of the best there is.

Point being, we can jibe him about the length of his application all day, and all the little things, but what we would really analyze as a part of the bigger picture is his intentions.

Beaufx is very, very nice and is helpful. I think he deserves the rank of helper very much. I think he will not misuse his power and will use it to help the common good of meepcraft.

Work experience: IT Support in my senior year in 2003. Kept job for 13 years until my fiance passed away (mother of my girls). Decided to relocate about 2 hours away closer to family and start a new career in a different setting. As most of you know I'm waiting to hear back for a final interview at a new job but that will just cut my MC time from 18 hours down to about 10- which I'd think is sufficient but that's up to staff.

No health issues or anything personal that I can think of - I like to play around with DIY things, drones, etc. My kids really enjoy the drones.

 

I think Beaufx is a very nice Meeper, and people should cut back a little. I mean, I think we have enough weekday staff for an average of 30 players on at a time, but still would be a good candidate for the future! +1/2

You asked for what some of us may have wanted to see in the app;

I look for more detail on all of your main points. Explaining experience or extra maturity you have would be beneficial. Maybe adding what would make you unique on the team.

The weakness section is the next biggest; do you have a time commitments that could prevent you from coming on meep for extended periods of time? Have you ever had trouble breaking rules? Or trouble with other players? Or anything you are worried you may not be good enough at, that could be a weakness as well.


Anyhow; you seem to have good intentions, and seem to be very mature. Despite showing amazing potential, you don’t seem to have as much knowledge of the process as I’d hope (that’s make me think you aren’t familiar with the rules in game either). Also, there are many threads in the application section that go into how to write a good application. You can use those if this is denied or if you need to write an app for some reason.

For now I’m a -1, because of the lack of knowledge in some general situations. But that could easily change to a +1 if you figured this kind of stuff out.
