Couldn't you just stay away from the portal to factions?

 

I don't think he means the game mode itself. Factions tends to bring a lot of toxic players who either rage when they die/get raided/lose stuff and lots of players affected by pride and it does harm the community. Not saying all servers with factions are like this but any server I've seen that added factions has definitely experienced a more hostile change in their community.

 

Let me point something out right now. If somebody is doing something they shouldn't be, they will be punished. Otherwise, they are following the rules and have every right to play here. If they are so toxic, they will be banned for being toxic. Alright?

Average servers that are normal like meep have an average 200 to 500 players and I know some servers that have gained hundreds and some times reach to 1,000 players. Factions will improve the average amount of players!!!

 

It will also bring many a toxic and mean player. Along with people that constantly whine.

If they are doing something that is bad to the server, they will be punished. Otherwise, if they are not being punished, they are following the rules and have the right to play. Please read what others say before you make points already answered.

 

If they're anything like any other toxic players in the past they won't be punished for a good long while.

Then they are obviously not terrible. Point is that they will be banned if they are toxic.

But Deinen, how do you know? Staff won't even TRY Factions! And we do have the resources to be both, we were both before. The reason they all failed was because they had awful management and no care whatsoever. We were also struggling at those points. Now, we are doing much better. If we add Factions, it could not hurt. Explain to me how one will suffer.

I don't understand why factions are so desperately wanted. Do play a factions server if you want factions.

 

Good point, I don't know. But I'll use an analogy to describe how I feel about us going for factions, etc.

Picture that we're a fast food restaurant that sells tacos. All up and down the street, there are fast food restaurants that sell burgers. But when customers come into our taco place, they ask if they can also buy burgers here. But from the point of view from the restaurant, is it worth the money to buy all the equipment to sell burgers, when there is 5 restaurants right there that sell them as well?

- I don't see the point of diverting resources away from the one product we offer that is actually unique, and putting it into a service that so many other people have, especially when I can say right now we won't get the players off our factions, we'll never be able to devote enough time or energy for it to be comparable to any actual real factions server.

 

Then again there are also many towny servers, so I don't fully understand your analogy. I do think that the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few, and in this case Meep specializes in Towny.

 

But what if there are many people who want burgers who are loyal customers to you? What if they want to stay with your restaurant. I would like to play Meep with Factions. I would like a taco and a burger from your store. And what if there are people who are not satisfied with their burger store? What if they go to you then.

My point is that Factions would give players another reason to join. And if it doesn't work, close it.

 

I am not positive about how this server runs, but I know that on some it costs more money to have another server up and running. There would also have to be many more plugins added and much effort, and like I said before "The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few."

 

As I previously stated, I'm not sure it would be a big issue to add more staff members who just moderate factions. Along with this, seperate chat between the two servers. That way, people playing towny aren't seeing a butthurt child raging on factions.

There are many people who want Factions. It's just that many have given up hope.
