Enable Forum Renaming Every 30 Days

To reflect the changing in-game names

this would be really, REALLY confusing.

 

Yeah, I had thought of this. However with IGN changes, it would also be somewhat confusing if we didn't have changes--especially once 37 days pass and we can start to see people take others' old names.

 

Most well-known people won't be changing names due to their ranks, so it won't be too bad.

 

Ranks are now kept when changing names; @Alex77034MC @Deinen0 and his ranked alt @DarkWarriorX5 @bass_flow (ranked alt)

Also a whole lot of other people who I haven't figured out yet

I think you should just ask an admin. It's not hard for admins to copy and paste what you want your new name to be. This isn't really needed.

 

I'm not entirely sure this is possible. There will be an obvious need for people to change their names at least once to reflect their new name, so we'll see.

 

yay I hope so... just add a ig name tab... so u can change your ig name and have a code for proof

 

There should be a thing on forum account pages or under usernames for a "Formally/previously known as;" for those who would use it.. it would clear up a lot of confusion and etc; One reason I'm not changing my name. Is this something we'd be able to do?

Changing forums names every 30 days is too much work for anyone and not necessary either. If you want to change your name every 30 days either make a new forums account or live with the wrong name on the forums.

The easiet solution woudl be to add a line in the Profile page that says: IGN - xxxxxxx and allow this to be displayed right under the forums avatar/name on the icons like mine would say (if i check the box turning it on):

Obviously i would not turn that option on cause mine is the same but others that wanted to change their name every 30 days and did not want to just make a new forums account could do it.

Only drawback i see is someone pretend to be someone else? but i guess you can just make that a rule that is bannable offense!

Yes it can be listed just on the profile instead too.
