Right, but 15+ trillion dollars is a bit much, don't you think?

I think most economists would argue that it's not actually the size of the debt that is the main issue, but the size of the debt payments compared to the GPD of the country.

I am far from an economist; however, I see the situation is like this.

You took out a loan from the bank for 200,000, and in the end you will end up repaying 250,000. This seems like a LOT of money until you factor in you make 175,000 a year. While if you had to pay the entire debt off immediately, you couldn't. But by getting into a 30 year mortage with good rates, this is extremely doable, and even "cheap" compared to your living situation.

The same applies to national debt. We owe about $18 trillion. Our GPD is just under 17 trillion a year. In 2015 the US spent about 7% of their GPD, or about $229 billion a year.

In a micro-scale, that 7% is like paying 14,500 a year for a 200,000 hour. That is astoundingly not a giant number.

    - Let me ask those here that are voting Republican because of the "debt"

Under what party did we invade two countries, and bail out the banks? I'm pretty sure that was Bush that started both, right?

The last year America had a surplus was 2001.

    Bush was in office 2001 - 2009

    Obama was in office 2009+

Neither one side was innocent in our debt, therefor no one side can inherently fix it. They both caused it. It's not Obama's War, or Obama's debt. It's Bush's war, and America's debt.

Ahh, the good ole days when Presidents lied to go to war, and Vice President's shot people in the face.

Sanders definitely seems like the best fit for our countries needs out of all candidates. Since he has been gaining so much momentum it's beginning to seem plausible that he'll have a chance at winning the democratic election; which I really hope happens.

If it comes down to monetary success (which Trump doesn't even really have) then why not choose a better candidate for the job: like Bill Gates? He has much for financial success than Trump (fact) and has probably done more for the world than any one other individual person in his lifetime (opinion):

    http://www.gatesfoundation.org/
    Plus more

Trump is nowhere near the type of individual fit for presidency; he's not even fit for any political candidacy within our country. He's a joke that has lasted way too long. The only hopeful event of Trump winning is Sanders beating him easily when it's 'crunch time'.

Aside from his political views, which I agree with most, I'm voting for him because he is the Ron Paul of this election. He's a candidate who has lived a life of proof in support of his believes, he acts on what he thinks, and he is true to himself, and how he represents himself.

I find myself wanting Al Franken to run one day, as a side note. :)

I don't think there is any definition as the best nation in the world. I'm not sure America ever was truly, but we were close. Just my view though.

WARNING, has some vulgar language in it. Viewer discretion is advised.

Replace every instance of Trump with Obama, and you have our most recent president, except with extra charisma, and less financial skill.

Since when is owing someone else money a good thing?

I'm not sure where you got your numbers, but I got this: In fiscal year 2015, the federal budget is $3.8 trillion. These trillions of dollars make up about 21 percent of the U.S. economy (as measured by Gross Domestic Product, or GDP). It's also about $12,000 for every woman, man and child in the United States.

I also found that about 2/3rds of this budget is spent on Medicare and Health, unemployment, social security, and labor.

Has been bankrupt, therefore no financial skill... That is the worst bit of logic I have ever heard. Can you be as rich as he is?

Don't get me wrong, I'm not angry. I'm just the guy screaming when there is a fire, and for anyone to consider Donald Trump as anything equal to competent, intelligent, or a basic decent human being needs to be looked straight in the eye, and asked "....Seriously?"

To be fair, successfully declaring bankruptcy when you're that rich takes some skill. Not that I like Trump; I'd rather vote for Ben Carson; I think Donald Trump winning would be the worst thing to happen to the US since 1812.

    http://news.yahoo.com/republican-bush-steps-criticism-donald-trump-162103792.html

When even Bush is criticizing you, you know you're doing something wrong.

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/...just-how-amazing-donald-trumps-rise-has-been/

Most republicans didn't even support Trump initially.

While I fundamentally disagree with Carson on issues, I think he is a much better representative of the conservative ideology, additionally, he's not the quintessential scum bag of this Earth.

Not necessarily sourcing it, but what it says about Trump is true, lol. That is the guy you'd get.
