Cyber Bullying

Yeah, I'd say that's logical but we can't change what the server has become. I personally feel like if someone makes fun of you or says something you don't like over the internet you don't know you shouldn't take personal offense to it. After all, when you get out in the adult world, get a job etc... all your co-workers won't like you, you will be mistreated by customers etc.. You just need to forget about it and proceed with your life. Being in the healthcare field I have been cursed at during my rotations by random people wanting to pick up their Oxy and other meds and I just dismiss it, I don't take it personally.

 

I know I've said this on the forums but I'll say it again here. If you want everyone to treat you nicely and respect you, the internet is the wrong place to be

I've always thought that the whole "just turn off your computer to prevent cyber bullying" argument is stupid. A large amount of cyber bullying is done on social media where you are getting bullied/teased/humiliated in front of all your friends and whoever else follows you on social media. That doesn't change whether you log off or not. It's not like these posts disappear when you log off. Everyone will still be able to see them, and you'll still see them when you log back on.

I agree that kids need to be put in positions where they have to learn how to deal with this kind of stuff, but don't use that as an excuse to be a jerk. It's still more important to set the precedent that people should treat each other well than that people should learn to deal with bullying.

Right, but "cyber bullying" over a relatively anonymous community like Meepcraft is vastly different from the bullying you described.

 

It stills applies. If someone were to, "turn off their computer" it would still be here, it was just based in a different setting. No one should have to just 'turn off their computer' to get away from it, it just shouldn't be there, or at least so much. I can't completely get rid of it, but it needs to be cut down to a certain point, at least.

 

Oh no, I'm in no way condoning rude people on MeepCraft! I was just pointing out that his analogy wasn't necessarily valid.
