How do people on a Minecraft server whom you've never even met IRL have nude pictures of you?!

Unfortunately, not all people in situations like this have the balls to actually just say "ok" and get over it.

I'd say the majority do, at least in every experience that I have seen
Not many people go through with the threat, and if they do what even is the harm? You lose friends because of it, they arent real friends, as I've expressed

    I dunno.

To me personally, its only cyberbullying if its some one you know in real life. (Spent 7 d@m minutes correcting that)

Thanks for identifying that I am not his mother. I never knew that! I thought I gave birth to him the entire time. But now I'm well informed, thank you.

I was just explaining to a person what something meant lol? If that makes someone a mother than I must be a mother of a million people.

This idea is flawed, as the things people say on the intrnet can hurt people, even if they haven't met them. Is a Youtuber not being bullied when someone says something mean about them? You don't have to know someone to bully them, as you are still being rude in a way which could easily harm the other person.

It can still be noted that the issues bullying causes can be avoided depending on how the recipient reacts. If you choose to ignore bullying against you, then you are dealing with the bullying. Some people may overreact because a comment wasn't meant to bully or the comment wasn't a very demeaning one. This doesn't mean that there wasn't bullying involved, just that the recipient of the comment reacted badly.

Cyber bullying is "real" in that people really do get offended over things said online. Weather or not they should get offended over mean lines of text is a separate question. I don't think its unreasonable for someone to get offended, but I think treating it like IRL harassment and attempting to prosecute it starts you down a slippery slope that ends in things like banning conservative journalists on twitter for having the wrong opinions and criticizing the wrong people.

Your argument is entirely situational and tailored to yourself only, its something called anecdotal evidence. You only have the power to say "ok" because the person who has your nudes doesn't know you in real life. If you went to a school and your nudes got leaked, it would be a serious issue because your reputation would never recover. You criticized Midnight because he said that you would lose friends over an issue like that, and although I agree with you that no real friend would leave you for that, you would lose almost every chance to make new friends after you've had your credibility attached to being "that girl".

I disagree with you in regards that the "stop bullying" movement is just making more bullies. As someone whose been bullied when I switched schools, I actually had been positively impacted by it: it toughened me up, and made me into a much more assertive person.I stood up to myself once by punching a bully in the face and I was never bullied again. But besides that, I've seen "stop bullying" programs in school, I know just how effective they could be; I've seen people in my school stand up to bullies and refuse to be bystanders probably just because of two assemblies we had back in fifth grade that taught us a basic rule that went a long way: we were the solution.

Sometimes, online bullying trickles in with the actual world, and thats when it becomes an issue. You cant "ok" away blackmail, it doesn't work like that when someone has real leverage over you. But I agree with you on your points that ignoring bullies makes them go away, its what fuels bullies and ignoring them usually makes them go away.

I agree, son. Cyberbullying is a joke when its just text by an anonymous person on the screen. I dont think cyberbullying should be synonymous with someones beliefs as well, I'm no liberal.

There's a difference between being trolled by some random guy from Germany and your entire class at school on Facebook. One you can just let go of while the other can be pretty traumatizing. Kids you know bullying you can circle back to the classroom for further bullying. Otherwise, people need to chill tf out and ignore randoms.
