Custom Mobs ~ Reggles was in your title editing stuff

it's like a magnet


Going into the wild can get boring if you have OP gear. There's no challenge or anything special. What if we had a plugin to create mobs that are stronger depending on how strong their opponent is(i have a way to make it work k)?

Here's the basic idea:

In a radius of 50 blocks around players, it will test for their XP level and the rank of their gear(no gear, leather, iron, diamond, enchanted leather, enchanted diamond, etc).

The XP level and gear determine how strong the mobs spawn in that radius. For example, if I had 15 levels and iron armor, the mobs around me would spawn with a little bit of extra armor(mostly leather and some iron) and their weapons would be better(instead of a wood sword they could have a stone etc)

If I were wearing enchanted diamond armor with a lot of levels the mobs that would spawn would begin to get enchanted bows and weapons, and diamond armor. Some might even have potion effects.


I know you're thinking "WHAT IF I'M MINING WITH A FRIEND WHO IS REALLY OP BUT I HAVE NOTHING AND THEN THE MOBS ARE CRAZY AND STUFF"

I have a way to fix that problem: Parties.
In the wild you can type /party (player). If they type /party with your name they will join the party. When you are in a party it will take the gear level and XP levels and balance out the mobs that spawn. So if one guy has 30 levels and another has zero, the mob spawning would act as if there were level 15 players. Does that make sense? I think it does...

good point...i guess it should have a way to detect bows sword and axes in your inventory.

 

What's the point of the XP thing tho? You could've just repaired something which would put you at a low XP level, which would suck if you have rlly good armor and are looking for a fight in wild. Same with no armor and high XP.

 

the xp is a minor factor, it's mostly the armor that determines it.

This could be added to make wild a little more challenging, +1, however this may be very hard to code, and is not worth the time of the mods at the moment.

 

That's a good point, it could be hard to code. What if mobs just spawned all over with fancy armor and weapons?

 

ever thought if it would be possible to code and keep it compatible with the other plugins on the server?

 

What happens when two very different players enter the 50 black radius at the exact same time? Will the wild implode?

Its already been in the works before as a plugin, Ill see if the developer ever finished it. Basically it checked your armor level and spawned mobs relevant to that. However, it also spawned mobs like enderdragons, Giants, ghasts, and blazes which can probably be removed in the config. Testing the plugin with him rendered the terrain quite desolate.

What if you also add some rareish drops with weapons/armor with random enchants? Possibly even custom weapons like wands.

 

Not sure about wands but custom mobs can be done easy
