From what I understand, it doesn't matter. Its an issue with confusion and misrepresentation. If someone were to /msg Kling (not paying attention/not realizing he even did so) and it go to him rather than you, and for instance he either ignored it or give a nasty/hateful answer, that could look really bad on the staff team. I think the rule was initially set up to avoid the confusion in the first place. You can always ask an admin, but I'm fairly certain that no matter the reason/excuse, its still gonna be deemed "staff impersonation". Just lookin out for ya.
