I demand we deny all applications that have less than 32 references and don't mention ice cream

I like the current format, it's pretty to the point and is flexible for every type of person. You can give as little or as much fluff as you want and it won't affect your chances. Here's my dissection of it:

Member Name: who are u

Additional In Game Names: who were u

How old are you? are you mature for your age? immature for your age? or do you act your age?

Location: time zone

Do you have TeamSpeak? weeds people out who don't know that you need it (an awful lot)

How many hours per day do you play MeepCraft? (weekdays) availability

How many hours per day do you play MeepCraft? (weekends) availability

Have you ever been staff on this or any other server? experience in a minecraft environment

References: Please give IGN's who do you hang out with, who on the server have you built trust with, also, people who don't ask for reference before hand and list reliable people are commonly called out.

When did you join Meepcraft? how old are you in the community

Introduction: this is the fluffy bit, let us get to know you!!! This can be as long or as short as you feel necessary.

Why should you be Helper? why do you want this job? are you qualified for this job? what skills do you have which could benefit the team?

What are your weaknesses? what are your REALISTIC faults as a person and how do you plan to work on them or ensure they don't affect your work? Be honest, because we probably know a few already or will find out.

Please give any other information you might think is useful for us to know: information not regarding your qualifications for the job but rather a disclaimer or sweet ending.

Player votes how does the community feel about you? Do people have beef with you? Have you helped out a lot and never asked for anything in return? Does anyone in the community even know who you are?

This format allows for a variety of staff members to be accepted, like the short-and-sweet Jess or the long-and-frozen-treat Deljikho. I don't believe the format should be changed at all, and the system we had in place to review applicants was very efficient when I left. So I'm not sure what you're complaining about tbh

 

You guys are all wrong.

Keep the current like beginning format, keep the introduction, but then make what is your favorite food and why, then make what is your least favorite food and why, then make your final statement.

If vegetables are mentioned as a favorite, the player is auto-denied and permanently banned with no appeal.

 

yea the whole "references" part of the application is getting stupid these days

 

Without members there would be no server, so I wouldn't devalue the regular members too much.

Not everybody is like you, and maybe not everybody trusts the higher ups as much as you. I'm not saying I don't and I'm not saying I do. But trying to censor people when just having a simple suggestion is completely unfair, and it's not like he was degrading anybody.
