Breastfeeding in public

i breast feed in public.

 

This topic always gets me frustrated because I honestly do not understand why a woman feeding her child is wrong, this is something that has been happening for centuries! A mother should be able to feed her child without being ridiculed and shamed. I don't see how a woman feeding her child is wrong yet men running shirtless or casually walking around shirtless is okay, when a woman feeds her baby you cannot see very much of her breast because the baby's face is actually covering most of it!

 

I think some of you are unaware how it looks
Do you know how much is exposed and how much you see?
It's not like the woman pulls down her shirt halfway for all to see. You see very very little and what you can see is mostly covered up by the baby's head. I bet several of you have walked past a woman who breastfed and didn't notice at some point lol.

I could care less if she breastfeeds in public. I'm more concerned about how comfortable the mother and the baby are.

Also, if you wouldn't eat in a public bathroom, then don't make a mother do it to her baby.

The an-us is defined as: "the opening at the end of the alimentary canal through which solid waste matter leaves the body.", but that doesn't mean it can't also be a sexual organ. Things can have two purposes.

Edit: Really guys, you censor an-us?

 

Does that mean we should censor feet because a large minority of people have a kink for feet? We can draw some safe distinctions on what is appropriate and what isn't appropriate. I feel like breasts, at least when breastfeeding, is a safe distinction.

 

I don't understand why people have such a problem with women breastfeeding in public (a natural thing, that they did when they were a baby) but don't have a problem with women walking around in stilettos, lace underwear with a matching pushup bra. Sure one might be more appealing than the other, but which one benefits more?

On a more serious note, why get wound up if you see someone breastfeeding in public. Chances are (some of you, not all) were breastfeed in public or any place.

 

You shouldn't if the property is "public" (counting public as like restaurants or stores, things that you can walk onto and be served etc) That creates pointless fighting and is just grounds to have discrimination again. If you want a business, accept the fact that not everyone that expects service is exactly like you or believes in the same ideals.

 

Would you rather have a few people look at you because you are performing a natural maternal function, or would you rather have everyone within a 100 ft. radius be very annoyed with you because your child won't stop screaming like a banshee?

 

Something tells me this perspective would completely change if you were a mother, let alone a woman.

Let's make this distinction right here. Public property isn't a business. It isn't a home. Public property is property owned by the government, and given the designation "public property", and is intended for public use. Parks, roads/sidewalks, etc.

It's fine if people don't agree with you, but you should still have the right to get them off your property if you want to. It is yours, after all.

 

I'm not the kind of person who gets irritated by a whaling baby. The baby would have to be screaming bloody-murder for over 2 hours, to get me annoyed. But IF I were the mother... desperate times do call for desperate measures.
