I think it would be really cool if we took out one of the broken/not used plugins and replace it with a survival map. The difference is that this survival map would not link up with MeepCraft economy, no meebles, no spawners, etc. This would be a truly survival gameplay, the wild west, living off the land, meeting others, trading. Defending your bases and hiding your things.

I remember I joined MeepCraft originally because I was looking for a thing like single player, but with a ton of players. :) I think it would be cool to play in basically a dog eat dog world.

Another idea I'd potentially like is if we made donor less of an impact on this server, perhaps give donors just a kit with a couple extra tools & food, or something. As an Ultimate I'm ok with giving up the perks in this world, to enhance gameplay.

It's just another way to avoid fixing the current problems.

No avoidance necessary, due to the minimal frame of this type of game, it would take minutes to implement, not be intensive resource wise, etc.

I like the idea! I just have one problem with this: It will most likely be fun the first couple of months, but eventually it will devolve to xenophobic groups that get god armor in the first day or two after a map wipe and start running around killing everyone, mostly being players that cannot hope to defend themselves. That literally becomes their entire purpose of playing; to kill everyone. If you do not believe me, look at how these games ended up, even with constant resets:

    - Rust (Spending precious ammo to constantly kill someone that cannot defend themselves outside of their house even though he has no loot. For over an hour. )

    - DayZ (Being surrounded by zombies, when someone runs up to you with a shotgun instead of running away/fighting off the zombies. He kills you, and then dies almost immediately after by the zombies that he could have easily avoided by backing off. Killing other players is more fun than staying alive.)

    - Nether (Two or three people camping at hot spots/safe spots, with good gear killing anyone nearby so they have little to no chance of gaining decent gear. Even having a large 5+ team at this point makes little difference.)

They all started out nice, but at the end, the game became less of survival and more of bullying or killing as many new players as possible.

What do you propose to combat this? Because if your reasoning to have this survival map is so new players that do not have a rank will not feel disadvantaged, I doubt your intended goal will happen. Without restrictions, they will eventually be found and brutally murdered by a group of overpowered players that work together to get their gear much faster than any single player that just joined and doesnt know anyone can. I dont imagine the players this will attract will be the ones that are desirable to a towny server, where people work together to build themselves up, not break each other down. I do like the idea, though, if you are somehow able to enforce cooperation instead of kill-on-sight mentality. +0.5

Pretty sure this is called an anarchy server. They have no grief prevention, hacks are allowed, pretty much no rules(maybe besides ads and stuff). I've played on a few and they are always spammed with porn links...

Unless you just mean a basic survival server with no ranks, no meebles, just classic minecraft with maybe SOME grief prevention and rules, I like it.

Of course hacking/duping/etc wouldn't be allowed. I'd support some limited grief prevention, but I think the risk is the fun.

MineZ fits the description perfectly, but I have no knowledge about that plugin and believe it is private.

I am not really experienced in the world of all the different plugins that exist, but as much as true survival goes, MineZ and Hunger games are the only mainstream, that I am aware of. Although, there are a lot of restrictions.
Anyways, I am definitely for the idea, I would trade such a game mode for any of the actual ones.

Also, that is just pure gold. You will get a lot of 'hate' for that, but it is true. New players are really fast and easily discouraged if they participate in a game, they have hardly any effect on, due to the donators being 'ridiculously' stronger. There is a very fine line between giving the donators a 'lot' and not 'enough', we are slightly over the a 'lot' threshold.

EDIT: Before anyone of you points out that I am a non-ranked player and do not have a right to express myself on this matter, I would like to point out that I already donated to the server, but rather for Meebles than a rank.

I deinfinitely (see what I did there ;)) see the merit in this idea, and we should definitely consider it. I've always loved the idea of a survival world, and as long as we think it through, I really think it could turn out great.

Moving to Under Consideration; it deserves to be discusssed. Thanks for the suggestion!
