Inherently -- I think the issue at heart is the server not giving the players the same consideration that it expects the players to give other players. While they inherently have the right to change server policy at a whim, it seems unwise for a server just back from a relaunch with 34 players on at 1:00PM EST to take action in this method. A much better option would have been to just give them some pre-warning. Even after the fact, had anyone said "Yeah, you're right, we'll try to do a better job in the future on notifying changes that alter gameplay". They did not even have to mean it, but just say it to appease their customers.

The complaint made in the original post, regardless on someone's opinion, is a legitimate complaint and that person is, indeed, correct on the complaint, despite any issues with that player, his actions in the past or present. I cannot see why the utmost respect wouldn't be taken to the playerbase that has a potential to purchase a product costing $319.99. Regardless of who the response was to directly, it ends up being a response to all players with the same criticism, regardless of who they are.

 

Staff just raised upkeep per plot. It's now 100 and not 50. They did not supply a warning but us with towns have to give seven days to change taxes. We should at least be able to change them right now.

Would it hurt to put up a message "Hey guys, we made a mistake with setting the plot tax. We will be changing it from X to Y in a couple of days. Thanks for understanding."

This is just some weird double standard to expect town staff to put up a 7 day warning for their residents, but you double the price without a slight notice.

 

Pleaseeee stop crying about something so freakin small. Literally youre sounding like a bunch of whily brats. Ive been CRANKING out updates. Stated up for 48 hours straight twice in 1 week to keep pushing them out and youre mad we raised plot tax by 50 meebles? Un freakin believable.

Ive been transparent, it was on trello to fix it, reggles fixed it. You dont look at trello, its on you. cry about something else please im tired of hearing about this

 

Keeping in mind, it's their responsibility to keep balance on the economy. I just don't get the logic in wanting a successful server and replying to customers in the fashion highlighted in this thread. Sure, buttwhateverhisname is a problem player, but Dockson, ex-architect and ex-staff with 0 bans on his record has the same valid critique, responding to buttheadflywhatever is just the same as responding to him - And I'm not sure what he did to earn such a disrespect.

 

Exactly my point; you didn't plan. If buttfly haven't had made this thread, would you have even bothered with informing the players?

Anyways, how exactly did this change 'not affect anyone'? I would think that it affected some town's majors. Oh, wait. All of them, surprisingly.
