There was a post about this a while ago but I seriously don't know why Meep would rather stay w/ Teamspeak.
Discord > TeamSpeak
It would be free to run, easy to set up, easier to use for somebody who hasn't used either.
Somebody said setting up staff ranks would be hard, so just to show them that it would be easy, I have gone ahead and set up a basic server in about 3 mins.
Here's a basic channel all set up.

As you can see, roles/ranks are easily set up.

There's room to customize the ranks and make them better suited for each rank, obviously as you see fit. Doing this is extremely easy, as you just have to click some squares.

Creating a text channel is as easy as clicking "create new text channel", naming it, and clicking a couple more buttons. If you wanted to get fancy and limit things and make certain things channel-specific (like giving everybody permission to post images/emoji/etc in the trashposting channel), that's easy too.

You just go in, add the role (or keep it as everyone) and change permissions accordingly.
You can also lock channels and make them un-viewable to anybody who isn't on the set role-list by taking away "read messages" from "everyone", meaning that making a staff only chat is very easy, as shown here.

Voice channelsGyazo - c7751b29c1fc2b98b912b64f5de66cf6.png
Creating voice channels is even easier than text channels. All you need to do is create the channel itself, name it, and restrict people from entering if you need. ( as shown with the staff room, here: Gyazo - c778b8e7062a116a05956fd3ce7c80af.png )
You can also set limits on how many players/people can join each voice channel, as shown Gyazo - 47f97439b580e020ea2e70c51711aa14.png (in this case, general only allowed 19 players while alpha has no set limit)
No, this is not perfect. Discord is a newer program, therefore it's nowhere near as mature as TeamSpeak. But, it's been growing rapidly, and I've had zero problems while using it for the 6 months I've been using it as an alternative to skype. It, to me and many other people, is much easier and hands on when compared to TS. With the help of somebody who's used the program once or twice, you can add bots to your server and take it to a whole new level. Bots on Discord are surprisingly advanced, and with the help of a tech or somebody who knows how to make discord bots, you can easily make a Meepcraft bot that does anything you need it to. This was, like I said, 5 or so minutes.
I can't personally see a reason to not switch over to Discord other than "what if people don't want to switch" "they're used to TS" etc. To those, all I can say is what I've already said. Discord is easier to use, it's free, there's a very nice working app (making it even more accessible).
Please consider switching to Discord.
