Introduction: I had been on the road for 24 days. I put my fate in the hands of Americas’ backroads to experience a journey I sorely longed for, and one I would never forget. From swimming at midnight in an eerily fog covered forest to dancing while stranded in the volatile desert heat; every new day brought an uncertain adventure awaiting me, and I was always sure not to keep it waiting for too long.

In May I graduated from University; it was a huge milestone in my life. This also created a transition for me, I was moving from a college student to a full adult. For most people this is an easy transition, they just spent 4 years of college laying out the plan for their future so they know what to accomplish next. It wasn’t so easy for me, however, for weeks leading up to my graduation I was unsure of the direction I wanted in life. I was set and groomed for the corporate world, with my BBA I had primary concentrations in Accounting and Human Resources with a secondary concentration in Finance. Everything in my life had revolved around the business world, but my soul was always longing for the freedom to wander. I wanted to experience a life on the road, travelling from town to town meeting anyone that would care to listen or speak.

My uncertainty led to an ultimatum: I would try my best at getting full-time employment, but if that failed then I would travel. This all culminated in my recent resignation, after I had a poor job interview I decided that I would ‘hit the road’ and go wherever fate would take me. I contacted my best friend and told him my plan, he was immediately up for it and we decided that nothing would stop us from an adventure. Using a little over $2,000 we had saved up we prepared and set out on our journey: together we had a tent, 2 sleeping bags, a grill, a few pounds of rice, 7 gallons of water, 8 various knives, and an old Chevy S10.

We travelled over 3,000 miles crossing 10 states, we spent the nights camping and the daytime driving through America’s backroads, usually unsure of our next destination. With nobody to rely on but myself and no governed rules to follow while alone in the middle of the wilderness, I had felt such a profound sense of freedom that I never felt before. Even when the conditions seemed desolate and bleak it was exhilarating to be facing challenges and overcoming obstacles.

My favorite memory arose from our most bleak situation: In southern Utah, our truck gave away to the 110F heat and the mileage it had accumulated over 3 weeks. We suddenly were stranded in the middle of the harshest environment we experienced; 60 miles away from the closest town and 24 away from the nearest campsite, we loaded up only what we could carry we set out in the blazing sun towards camp. During the walk I was worried about how we would make it through the situation, everything seemed hopeless and the heat only intensified my paranoia. I was trying to figure out a plan when suddenly I hear music behind me, my friend was playing the Beatles’ Abbey Road album and he started dancing to it. I watched him baffled for a few seconds as he nonchalantly danced down the road, then I decided I may as well join in too. For the next 3 hours we danced down the entire road playing the Beatles, we probably looked like maniacs if anyone was around to see it. But in that moment I realized that life doesn’t need so much worry, even when all seems hopeless you can choose to enjoy the moment for what it’s worth. I was happy, I wanted to see what the world would throw at me and I finally experienced it.

Sorry for the long intro, trust me this was the shortest I could get it lol. I just hope anyone that read it learned a little about me :)

Why should you be Helper? Many people probably know how highly I praise the Helper position. It’s a position that I spent a lot of time in during my last two runs at staff and it’s a position that I feel very comfortable with. The Helper role is a great learning ground for newcomers while also still being as effective as the Moderator role for experienced staff. It’s a very manageable rank, and I have the qualities needed to perform exceedingly well in that position.

Experience: First and foremost my best quality for Helper is the experience I have. I previously spent 3 months as Helper in my last time as staff, and it wasn’t because I lacked the qualities for promotion, but because I wanted to learn the rank 100% to see how far it extended. I would make test scenarios in my abandoned town so I could master prism commands. I would collaborate with Admins or Supermods to individually go through the piles of forums bugs/suggestions. I explored and handled forums very well, knowing what was within my scope of power and always getting permission before venturing beyond that. I also performed well at modreqs, ensuring that it was pleasant and fun for the players while still being professional; I also know the proper ways to administer punishments for infractions when needed.

During my 5 months as Supermod, I got a good insight on how other people perform the Helper duties, along with seeing what High Staff strives for them to achieve. This insight gave me a lot of feedback on how I personally performed, it even helped me see things I was doing incorrectly which I could promptly fix. Finally, I spent many months as the sole trainer on the staff team, I’ve trained more than a dozen people during my time as Supermod. I’ve repeated my same 3-hour process on ‘how to be a helper’ soooo many times that I doubt I could ever forget a single thing lmao. I’m positive that I can excel better in this position now that I ever have because of my extensive experience.

Professionalism: Thanks to my business background I know how to act in a collected professional manner at all times, I’ve gained many skills that can be valuable to a Helper. I’m unhurried and deliberate, this ensures that I get my point across without sending the wrong tones through text. I ensure accuracy in every case when I have a modreq/ban report and I will check the proof 2 or 3 times to make sure I haven’t made any mistakes or errors. When solving problems I am thorough and concise, I’m able to provide timely and realistic solutions.

Team player: I strive in a team setting. I know how to work well with others, and I do well at encouraging others to always try their best. I love to promote success and achievements for people. I’m good at listening to others state their ideas and suggestions, and do well at articulating my own thoughts. I connect with the team as a whole through the constant use of staff chats, and individually through private messages. I put trust in my teammates and I’m confident that they do the same.

What are your weaknesses? I definitely have a few weaknesses. At the age of 96 my great-grandfather once told me “We can’t always make the world a better place, but we can always make ourselves into a better man. Today we need to do something that will make us better for tomorrow”. I was only 7 at the time, but now it amazes me that even at his age he knew he had something to improve upon. I promise to work on my weaknesses, and in the process, I promise to uncover other ways to improve myself.

I may be seen as aggressive or intimidating over text.

It’s often hard to discuss important matters over text without sending the wrong tones, it’s a problem that I have noticed from myself. To correct this I need to think before I speak and think of how my messages will be received, when it’s a very serious discussion I will even read it out loud to make sure it doesn’t sound aggressive or intimidating.

I may seem tough-minded and directive.

I take a firm stance to one side in some discussions, sometimes my stance may be seen as too firm and I appear as tough-minded. To correct this I need to practice better communication skills by encouraging people to express their ideas thoroughly and using multiple sources for my input.

I may seem overly talkative and superfluous.

Sometimes I say more than I should say, which leads me to be overly talkative. To correct this I need to consider how much information is needed to communicate across the board, and I need to encourage others to contribute and influence outcomes.

I may seem to over analyze situations or be too cautious.

When doing a project I may over-think the project and make the task more arduous than necessary, to be overly safe. To correct this I need to recognize the pace of my teammates and manage our differences effectively, and I need to know when enough has been contributed to move on to the next step.

Please give any other information you might think is useful for us to know: I want to help make Meepcraft great again.

Finally! This doesn't even have to sit here in my opinion, as you are more than capable of doing the job and will be great at it again. Staff should just automatically accept this right now. +1

Honestly, I don't see any reason against your acceptance. You clearly have the experience, knowledge, and personality needed for this position. You have served as far more demanding positions, and can clearly handle them. All summed up, +1

    +1.

You honestly don't know how glad I am to see this application.

You were an incredible SuperMod, hands down. Friendly, very experienced and knowledgable about staff and Meep in its entirety, and a role model for everyone.

Heck, staff should promote you back to SuperMod immediately :)

Honestly it would be extremely ineffective to put you back into this position. You're extremely smart, active, dedicated, involved, and an outstanding person overall. Extremely overqualified and a great role model. As it has been said, you're a legend, and you deserve to be at least a mod again.

+1 for a position moderator or above.

God, go straight to mod or super. You are so overqualified, you're one if the best and most logical people, you're super nice and great.
I don't think I could name a reason to say no if I tried.
    Giant +1.
