Well since we are staff, we make decisions.
As much as i can accept that an opinion is an opinion, I dont feel its nessessary to have to justify our decisions with players. Most players, yourself included, feel that just because our staff team is VERY player based and interactive with the community, you get to judge and scrutanize our decisions as if you know what needs to be done.
It gets old. Make a post about pokemon and for the love of god, let us do our job. :]

But I also do agree with you people like kling should be staff again. But he needs to apply again, explain the demotion and such.
Someone can be an exceptional staff member in their own timezone. Sometimes it's just impossible to accept some people as staff and be okay with it. Not everyone in every timezone wants to apply, and those that do may or may not be qualified. We aren't going to accept someone based off of their timezone and their timezone will never be a deciding factor. We will also encourage you to apply but we most certainly aren't gonna force anyone. -

I See that I have been a little topic in here so I would like to just state I was great in game with helping, connecting with players and also having a laugh. But when it came to forums not so much I made a hand full of comments that never needed to be said, I have never taken into account how you all perceive me I just do me and whether you all liked me or not that's how it would turn out (which for the foremost was/is positive which is great). So with a hand full of comments I made it would have not just make an impact on myself but the team as well. The way I seen it though the demotion was a good thing, sometimes you need to take a step back to continue forward. As well as having a low modreq count I did complete them when they were there but due to timezones there was not that many, I always continued to help when people would message me and when other staff members needed help with modreqs I would get online to help whether others are there to help or not. I see it nothing more than professional, I was a bitter at first because I really enjoyed it but it was the right thing to do to clearly state to me that stupid comments like that will not be tolerated.
With all this being said have a look on forums, see me in game and join in on team speak to see what I am like all round.
A month has gone by in which I do believe I am ready to be staff again, that will all come down to you the people and the team.
All we can do is continue to help each other and wait until it opens again.

I thought I'd speak my mind in regards to the staff team choosing to close the helper apps.
I thought that the staff team "rushed" to accept a few people, then simply closed the option to apply for helper. Let me be straight to the point: Its dismal that there are over 15 mods/helpers, yet at certain times of the day, there are no staff online. For hours. Happens every day.
Rather than accepting 3+ different helpers who can't even perform their role, who are no more capable than some of the existing staff, I suggest choosing people who can be online when others are not--people who live outside the US. I'm hinting at @Kling here, as he was one staff member whom you could count on to be online at those odd hours of the night.
I understand that if staff choose someone for helper, its because they think they fit all the requirements, but does it matter if someone is an exceptional staff member if they can't be online when they are needed the most? And yes, there are many times when staff are needed during the odd hours, more than you probably think.

Also I agree that we do need helpers in more time zones, we advertise 24/7 staff but it's more like 20/7 most of the time.PhoenixPuppy, kyle_docherty7, 2leah2 and 5 others like this. -

Let's take a step back shall we?
1. Are you personally wanting to apply for the helper position? If yes, then awesome I so look forward to your application once the time becomes available for us to open them back up. I advise you to take this time while we have them down to become an outstanding member of the community and continue being active while you are continuing on making your application TOP notch! If not I don't understand why this is needed.
3. While we have the application process closed temporarily we've given our staff team the time to get things done that are 100% needed with 100% focus from everybody on the team. IF we had them open right now a number of things would happen one being letting the applications sit there while making applicants feel unwanted and very discouraged because we simply don't have the time nor focus to train new helpers since there is so much going on and we do not want that.
Now jumping back is having the staff application section closed THAT big of a deal as to where it causes so much chaos. The answer is no, it's not and regardless if I am staff or not I think this decision by the staff team is very purposeful and I apologize that you cannot see that.
Honestly we are damned if we do damned if we don't. We recruit new members and we get criticized for having "too many helpers" but when we don't we get criticized for not having enough helpers regardless of time-zones. All jokes and banter aside, it's unfortunate to see so many complaint threads about the staff. I've ceased playing in-game but I do hope it gets better sometime, if it even is that bad. Right now I think the main issue is the eula, and that is big, so they've taken time into alleviating that problem.Pmx728, interdesirename, PeriHeika and 1 other person like this.
