New spawn sucks. I'm sorry, but it sucks.

It's exactly what I thought it would be - it is large and annoying to navigate, even with /fly, and ugly as all hell.
It's uninteresting to look at and is very very bright and white. This hurts my soul.

Along with that, some of the best things of old spawn are no longer there.
/warp heads
The fireworks trader
Good looks that actually fit meep

Lets take this one at a time -

I did not lag hardly at all, IF at all, in the old spawn. I freeze every few steps with this mess. I have a pretty nice PC that can run lots of graphic-heavy games pretty damn smoothly. Minecraft should be fine.

The looks definitely do not fit meep's style whatsoever. The style is completely different and doesn't look all that great. The forestry under spawn is more fun to look at.

Shopping. Shopping is now a pain. You cannot see the prices unless you are facing one direction, and it's lost it's openness. It's not as cool looking, nor is it close to being as convienient.
Fix: Put signs on all sides of the blocks. remove the elevator that froze my computer for 8 minutes. Seriously. It should not do that.

shopping 2.0: The cool things are gone. Head shop and the fireworks trader are gone, and it's not really close to the bank making it less convenient for players.
fix: Add head shop. Add firework trader. Add pet trader. Add stock broker. Add a bank villager. Those things should be ready and at the shop, convenient and easy for use. Put them in front of the cit/vip shop entrance.

It's just bad. Guys. Bad. I could have built something like this. You took away something amazing, pretty, and fun, and replaced it with something not fun at all and laggy and not pretty at all.

Muunk is disapoint.

 

I wish the time and money had been spent on a survival world, or more custom content for towny; rather than a new spawn that has a very limited ability to draw or retain new players.

 

Tbh I hated last spawn it lagged to hell. Didn't look that good bad area placement, plus it looked like a fail spawn due to the arcade etc being unused.

New spawn although I'm not a fan l, you have to remember that it is still a shell. It was opened too soon and still very much unfinished. There is still a hell of a lot of stuff to be added and the admins owners and staff wanted to give you something special and New in time for Christmas. Judge it in a month or so when it's more ironed out.

Not even sure why a new Spawn was a priority among all the things.

 

This community have been loyal to this server for such a long time they feel part of it . Which they are. When you have stuck with something for such a long time you want it to thrive, develop and be competitive with the big servers. If they feel the server has taken a step in the wrong direction, they should voice it.
It may just be a server for you, but this is also a server of outcasts mentally challenged etc that may find it hard to go out make friends. This community are their friends.
I know this isn't a direct answer to your post but it's still just.

 

"Oh hey, player numbers are declining again, let's make a new Spawn and ignore the obsolete Towny plugin, that'll show 'em!"

One more thought: The moment I arrived at the new spawn, I couldn't stop myself from thinking that Rainbow Dash would pop-up at me from somewhere.

 

Its still going to have the same nasty style that doesn't match meep at all.

Its easy tobmake friends, but its hard as hell to leave my hole.

I have autism. I'm passionate about a few things. This dumb server is one of them. Yeah, call me sad and all, but I'd rather be happy and enjoy something I have until its gone.

 

Finished or not, they're not editing the structural part of it. They're probably just adding some signs, tags, and other little touch-ups but nothing to do with what has already been built. The drop-in style Terrarium, for example. Many hate it, but since it's there, it's there permanently so long as this spawn stands. Again, none of the structural part of spawn is getting edited, so the same complaint made before it's finished and after will get the same feedback.

 

In some sort of way, yes, that's true.
But in a more serious context, the spawn is where majority of the players usually are, because it's the link to every aspect of the server. If not for it, people would get easily lost, especially people that first join.
So why the fuss?
Because it's not straightforward. It's not clear. Nothing seems to be in place. It's....changed. And it can be hard to get used to change. Oh, it's ugly. Oh, it's blinding. Why the heck did Fuzzlr spend ex ex ex amount of money on it. It helps the server none. Blah blah blah. If it's not convenient to navigate through, then yes, of course it's a big deal. It's asking someone to not know the basics of one thing and move them to something in that field, but more advanced. It completely defeats the purpose. If the basics is confusing, people will think that everything else after that will only seem more complicated. It loses players to confusion. The whole plan falls flat. Yeah, the world ends. Story finished.

a server on a video game changed their spawn and I hate it so much that I have to make a thread about it, complaining.
when really i could totally just get off my computer and join the real world!!!
but nooo i have to complain and start a big fuss when its not even finished! ugh such a TRAGEDY! My life is OVER!
