Introduction: Hey there, I’m Matt but most of you know me as either Bolthur, the guy from /pwarp grind, or that guy with the cute baby in his profile picture. I own a small residential Solar Company, and run two foundations. One to help provide free Solar Energy to small non profits such as soup kitchens, (a recent project) and the other (a work in progress currently seeking 501c status) to erect protected orphanages in southern Sudan and Uganda. The nature of my business allows me to play minecraft on one of my three monitors a lot while I work so accessibility won’t be a problem at all! I have also been an amateur-paid graphics artist, web designer, and electrical engineer (with true applicable degree’s/certifications) for many years however.

Why you should be Helper? Honestly because helping others and interacting with the community is literally the only thing I even care about in minecraft. I’m a decent builder and a great redstoner but those things are things I could easily do in single player and just be another JL2579 or something. I am a very humble person at heart, don’t get me wrong I’m very proud of where I come from, but when I am wrong and I try to own up to it as best as I can and move forward. Furthermore I am very good with interacting with the younger generations in a mature and adult manner. I was raised in a daycare family where I would come home from school to a collective group of kids of all ages. By the time I was 16 my aunts and uncles were pawning my nephews and nieces off on me for unpaid babysitting and honestly I loved it.

I'd like to split my why section into two parts because I have recently had a paradigm shift, the above statements are still true however my internal motivator for this application is change. I see some integral flaws in the way reports are handled leaving the victims more vulnerable in some cases. I am not here to blame anyone but I want nothing more to keep that from happening in the future. At first I thought the only way for me to make a change would be to make a statement by quitting, but following the advice of Diana I believe I may be able to contribute more to the solution by becoming part of it, not just the wake up call.

What are your weaknesses? I know this isn’t something people would usually call a weakness but my passion. I am a deeply passionate individual and because of that sometimes I bump heads with people unnecessarily, or I just don’t understand why things aren’t happening more quickly and want to just push through and get it done. I try to be nice to everyone but sometimes I have to genuinely catch myself and just say, “Really Matt? Come on you’re 22 you don’t need to be involved in this kind of argument.” Also my pvp skills, I’m sorry but if you ever need a representative to fight for you and you choose me I better be able to use redstone machinery too or else we’re going to lose.


Please give any other information you might think is useful for us to know: I genuinely just really want to help. I spend millions trying to create helpful places and much time helping players who are having issues either resolve those issues or connect with staff more effectively given my personal network of connections in this server. I’ve honestly been resisting applying for close to a month now but I’ve come to a plateau at which I really have no better way to help than being a helper. On top of that I can say, every single day there are times I am on where when I do /modlist to see if any of my staff friends are online it says “There are no staff members online.”

I am having an issue with my ts which I have had in the past, what is required for me to get onto it is to not use the mirror ip/web address and use the actual numerical ip. 2 minutes with a server admin or even just an inbox msg with the ip number will correct this issue.

Your argument against dein on the donation issue was very strong and a lot of fun to read. Though you were seen raging and threatening to quit very recently. If you have any explanation for that, it would be appreciated.

I'm confused was this supposed to be a -1? Either way I'd like to thank everyone for their positive feedback and constructive criticism. I always welcome well thought out suggestions on how I might improve upon myself as self improvement is really one of our few true purposes in life next to helping others.
