I completely agree with this, however perhaps there can be a few more categories to help better organize the thread like...

1. Completed
2. Deined
3. Open
a. PvP Suggestions
b. Minigame Suggestions
c. Forums Suggestions
d. Economy Suggestion
e. Etc...

This would help organize all the suggestions and still let them be not locked.

 

Doesnt even matter if they get accepted.
They'll just sit there in the accepted pile rotting away.

 

There are 57 threads in the suggestions feed. I'd rather see them get denied than see them just pile up. Is there a way, or maybe a a new system that can be arranged that will get suggestions complete, denied, accept, under consideration etc. This IS NOT a rant, just a suggestion to the staff on making suggestions get cleaned up a little quicker.

Come up with ideas, and Ill post them in here.

Hornemans Suggestion:
I agree with I think the suggestion need either a new system or just re-organized "a lot" to be a bit more realistic. However, I disagree on the current "categories" or any similar. There should be only 2 sub-categories under suggestions: Completed & Denied. Those should be self explanatory! Every other suggestion should just say in the normal thread for several reasons.

1. When they are moved to another sub-category the suggestion have no way of being enhanced/upgraded with further ideas, not everyone reads the forums every 10 mins like some of us do, so it would allow NEW PLAYERS that join to give their thoughts, and those less regular forums readers to as well.

2. It would reduce or eliminate the constant RE-POSTing of the same threads over and over. New threads, would not have to be made if the original ideas could be changed/edited.

3. This would also stop things from being in LIMBO for 9 months 23 days 17 hours like a bunch of threads in the current "accepted" pile.

A Change in the system needs to be addressed too! Currently ANY staff (it seems) just randomly move them to "limbo" based on personal thoughts or whatever reasons. Some major changes would be things like:

1. Someone that actually has the power to make these suggestions happen, so: Fuzzlr or Onis would actually move them (which mean we all know they will probably never happen).

2. If no one with power is "actually" going to do this then we should just close it and waste our time posting pointless things in the discussions instead.

3. A CLEAR and STRUCTURED system would also help this to be used by all staff, in the absence of Fuzzlr and Onis. Such a thing like detailed responses that actually explain why it won't be done. Examples:

a. This is a good idea however, since this would required a good deal of coding and the benefit to cost ratio is not optimal it will never get done, Denied!

b. Yes, This is a good idea and an admin could easily do it in 30 mins time with the approval of Fuzzlr/Onis but they are all busy doing "other" stuff / don't think it is inline with meepcraft views / whatever "legit reason", so Denied!

c. Great idea this is really simple as will benefit the server greatly and should not require Fuzzlr/Onis approval, so an admin will be online shortly to implement these changes, Pending Status! (Admin does it in like 20 minutes, and moves it to Completed).

Note: The red highlighted "response" is how this particular suggestion about suggestions should get answered? Well, my opinion I guess.
