I accidentally shot him (he was a Pyro, I was a Scout) and I was going after one of his teammates. I apologized to him and explained that I was going after another player and not him. IMMEDIATELY, he said to me "Well, you better watch yourself, Scout!" in the toughest voice possible.
I was in a Discord voice chat with some peeps. One was with me, and I said to him "He's being serious, isn't he?"
There's a good reason why I don't talk in voice chat often. Not because I'm female with the voice of a boy, but the fact that you get hit with such hostility out of nowhere. And I kinda don't want that negativity during a match.
Toxicity really isn't much of an issue if you pay no attention to it. Though, in MVM, it's kinda hard to avoid it sometimes. If you play with strangers, there's a 50/50 chance you get great players or sacks of sh*t who praise the Meta like it's an absolute necessity.
I recommend playing with friends to make MVM more fun (if you feel comfortable that way).
