Okay guys, as some of you know I've been donating a huge amount to the server and have given away in total about 20+ ranks altogether and about 4mil+ meebles. It's okay to be cautious and know there is a possibility I could be one of those people that chargeback, especially considering my age. I get that and all, but many of you rushed to saying I was COMPLETELY a fraud and a scam, and how I was doing bad things to meep, when I've done nothing wrong since I've came back. Now, 3 of 20+ rank packages were charge backed by my PAYPAL not by me. 2 were small amounts of $60 but one was $850 or so. These will be paid back most likely within the time zone of two weeks, and everyone that I bought a rank WILL have their rank!.. but it's funny how everyone is your friend until there's a slight chance that you scammed someone, like how ConeBobz filed an appeal because he package got charge backed by PayPal and I hadn't even known about it at the time, then suddenly more than half of you fled to accuse me of being a scam, people that were previously asking for a rank or meebles saying how kind I was. Well Fuzzlr cleared up that I didn't file the chargebacks and that it was, indeed, PayPal, so a lot of you went back to asking me for meebles or ranks when you just finished accusing me.. I'm disappointed in you all. I'm trying to help the server, and I've proven I'm legit, and I'm trying to prove I want to help the server as much as I can, and you guys just take me and accuse me for things I haven't done. I thank you @Empoleon_master and others ( especially @Fuzzlr ) for coming to my aid and clearing the smoke. Some people still believe I'm some fraud or whatever. Things just aren't going my way for now, but all will be repaid to meep. If I was a fraud I believe I'd be banned by now. And I heard something today, something whoever made this up or started it, or even kept it going, should be ashamed of themselves for speaking of like it was me. Apparently someone was on the news that did something to a bank and stole a lot of money from bank accounts, or defrauded the bank, I don't know it was something like that. Well guess what? I got accused of being that person... I can't believe you guys.. It wasn't even a cit. (you guys matter too, tho) it was ults that were saying it I heard. I think I'm through donating after I pay back the chargebacks. Can't do something nice, I'm not sure why, but you just can't without being hated. Why? Why would someone hate someone else, and accuse them of such things when they've done nothing wrong!! Good god meep, get ahold of yourself.

    Introduction:

We live in troubled times. Covid-19 is undoubtedly changing the way we go about our daily business. Many of us are forced to quarantine in our homes, being forced in front of our computers; Minecraft. Troubled times, indeed.

With a little bit more time on hands than usual, a perfect time has presented itself for a fact based research in the environment of Meepcraft's moderation team - past, present and future.

    Abstract:

The following work is based on a limited sample size (n=42) of various staff members of Meepcraft. The goal is to find a well defined correlation between one's politeness in regards to the stage they find themselves in the process of moderation. The samples span a significant portion of the server's life, various genders (there's a specific number of those outside of the scope of this paper) and also include those weak of thought, possibly robots, even (please, refer to the discussion at the end).

    Diagram:

The following diagram shows the accumulated, mean results of the samples.
The y-axis represents the politeness of a subject, on the x-axis well defined points in time have been plotted.

A person usually starts on the bottom of the politeness scale following the linear, green line. This time period can be identified by the person rebelling against most of the current moderation staff, occasionally throwing in the snarky comment in all chat, posting passive aggressive forum posts about the downfall of Meepcraft and being a general nuisance to anyone who's not the subject's friend.

At time = t1, a thought of applying crosses the subject's mind and they start moving up the lime line. The person starts welcoming new people in chat, saying 'welcome back' to people saying 'back'. One can notice the appearance of punctuation marks in their sentences, frequent pleasantries, giveaways and competitions. At this point, the subject starts working on their application form asking most of their friends and their moms for approval. They go to great lengths of describing how they would 'love' to help the server, but more often than not are forced into this position unconsciously with the promise of instant gratification of seeing the green 'helper' tag next to their name and a sense of power over their friends - and enemies.

Time = t2, also known as the breaking point (also a significant point in the progress of a pandemic), represents the stagnation of the subject's resolve. By this time, the application has been submitted and the waiting starts. The time span between t2 and t3 is crucial as it defines the burnout rate and the following rate of politeness recession. On average, a person peaks on the yellow line as they await the sweet 'Approved for interview' response.

The last point on the time axis, t3 - the inversion point - marks the start of the post application process behavior. If the subject has been accepted, they slowly start regressing to their previous behavior on the orange line, but end up higher than they started (green line) thanks to the journey and the friends they made on the way. If the subject has been denied, however, after sliding down the red line, one of two things occur. Either the subject goes through a horrific process (for the server) of struggling to get back to at least the green line and restart the cycle. Or they get banned. And unbanned. Restarting the cycle.

A notable case of cycle repetition would have to be GummiBirr (MisterBacon, Sqreix). I will leave the comment of my honored colleague to speak for itself.

    Outliers:

Even thought the above diagram represents an overwhelming majority of people, there are some interesting outliers that need to be discussed.

    Case 1: VKL

Even an untrained eye can immediately see, that there is something horribly wrong with the politeness-time function, which seems to be ambiguous at various points of time. You, my dear reader, are not incorrect to note that. This subject defines what is possible as he finds himself at the lime line part of the diagram, growing to be a better person and surprise us all (Good luck, Frank.).

    Case 2: CluelessKlutz

If the first thing you thought of when seeing this progression is; "That looks suspiciously linear", you are, again, very much correct! This 'person' only shows slight dips in the diagram and provokes the thought of rethinking his participation in this research as a human sample.

    Case 3: PseudoGod

At first glance, it is obvious that this subject was not given the same cards as the average subject. Started at the negative side of the politeness scale, barely worked their way up to be considered acceptable, then dropped and burned.

    Discussion:

Thank you for reading and apologies to anyone (especially VKL, CK, Sqreix and Pseudo) if you feel personally attacked by the facts. No harm was meant. I honestly have way too much time on my hands and needed to produce something. Hope some of you had a giggle and wish you all a blessed quarantine time, still.

Well, today, 3:30 pm on a Sunday afternoon - 7 people online.

At this point I've come to recognize this server no longer has a functioning player base. But this isn't a thread to call out how meepcraft is dying, or how bad of an owner Fuzzlr is.

This is a thread to recognize how important of a part this server was in my life.

I joined sometime in late 2012, when I was 9 years of age. My friend, at which a school I no longer attend, had invited me to buy minecraft and play it with him. Most people will say that they spent a year on singleplayer - for me there was none of that. I went straight to multiplayer on this sort of "economy" server, of which I knew nothing about. Since then, I have played next to no singleplayer in this game. Anyways, together me and my friend joined a town - Dylantopia. It was a thriving city, a good bit of residents, although at that time in meepcraft's history those who could afford a town were well off. We bought houses next to eachother, and sought to make enough money to buy ourselves a sheep.

It was here I met lordusan. Lordusan let me tell you, as lame as it sounds, one of my best friends at that time in life. He's (I believe) 4 years older than I, and at 9, I felt that was a huge difference. Me and him set up a rigged casino at our house in the town, and he moved in with me. We were one of those weird annoying groups of people that would build our home a literal 10 stories high. Eventually, my friend with whom I had joined left the server, to play factions. I stayed for a couple months after, but eventually followed him into the world of factions.

I left meepcraft for quite some time. I forget how long, but it was somewhere from 6months to a year. I would come back eventually, meepnetworks had risen and fallen, so I missed all of that era. I started a town - cooeyville (the first of many many many cooeyvilles) with Lordusan, who was still playing. I bought premium, than exclusive, and than elite, and worked my way up in the world. I became fairly well off, and my town did pretty well. I don't remember much of this, to be honest, so I'll spare you the details and skip ahead.

Somehow, the first cooeyville had fallen, and after several intermediate cooeyvilles, I created one just for me. I created a sizeable amount of wealth (through gambling, of course) and felt I should become a staff member, so I worked at it. I feel I would have been a good one, and on October the 28th, 2015, at the age of 12, I applied for staff. It went pretty well, the whole application process, and I was eventually accepted for interview - which is where it all fell through, I messed up pretty bad. I would apply 2 or 3 times after that, all of which were denied. For around a year after that, up until I was around 13 and a half I played incredibly actively. When I started high school, it kinda fell through, and I didn't connect as much with the server.
I started playing again this summer (mainly cause i was pretty bored) and realized how the server is on its last legs.

I had a pretty good time here, at one point I was the richest player on the server. (got there through dicing burritoh, of course, if any of you guys remember him, yeah I stole his 100mil) But I really appreciate everything the players on this server have done to me throughout these (gosh 5 years thats quite a while now) It was a really big part of my life. I skipped some ( a lot ) of important events, but I felt some of these were the biggest highlights. Sorry this kinda went on and on, just felt I wanted to post this before its gone forever.

After all this time, again, I thank a lot of you guys. This is probably a pretty cheesy thread, but whatever I guess.

No one might of noticed this (except for @SpongeyStar) but I haven't been on Meep in a while.

I have been gone because: 1. I'm still mute, that's been a major bummer than what it ever has, 2. My parents got divorced suddenly, it's been a not so fun wild ride with arguments and many tears shed, and 3. I'm now officially homeless.

I don't know if I'm ever coming back, honestly. But thanks to everyone who supported me these years with surgeries and what not, thanks to all the friends on here that actually liked me, thanks to all dem friendly staff who made me feel happy and noticed, and thank you Spongey for being the best mayor ever while I was here.

    Peace guys.

So I'm going to lay out this situation that has been confusing/frustrating me everytime I log on.

A long while back, 2klassy made a dope floating clock tower funded by myself. This build was part of a town called Clockwork that 2klassy and I owned. I eventually left the town to start my own, and 2klassy became inactive. I'd send him money the few times he'd get on to keep the town alive, but eventually he decided to quit completely. The town fell, and I claimed an outpost there because he and I kept a lot of stuff stored there. I failed to claim the rest of the clock tower before someone else did. This player then proceeded to make the clock tower the spawn of their town called Detroit. This rustled me, especially because they took the awesome build that was the floating clock tower and surrounded it with what one could only describe as an **** of a town. I let it go though because I knew there was little chance of me ever getting it back.

Nothing changed for quite a few months until I got a mail from RefugeeCrafter telling me to unclaim my outpost at the clock tower. There was roughly 0% chance of me doing that because not only had I claimed the outpost before they claimed the town, but it was 2klassy and I's build in the first place. I decided to put some signs up on my portion of the clock tower proclaiming my right to the outpost.

Now comes the confusing part: I get messages from RefugeeCrafter still suggesting that I remove the outpost. (notice that he suggested instead of told because he realized that the outpost was rightfully mine) This was followed by someone putting a sign up on the Detroit section of the clock tower saying that I better unclaim the outpost before I get banned. Oddly enough, at the same time I see both of the aforementioned messages, I also notice that the owner of Detroit has mailed me saying that he is going to unclaim the clock tower, and give it back to me. Now I'm confused because there is a staff member and at least one co-mayor/assistant of Detroit telling me to unclaim while the mayor is telling me that he will unclaim.

A decent amount of time has passed since I received all these messages, and nothing has happened. The whole situation is just frustrating, and I wanted to vent about it.

I'm tired of watching this server shoot itself over and over in the foot. I want to know something: when will Meepcraft care about player count? This server has gone from the top to rock bottom and I guarantee that it will go farther down if we don't do something now.

We have to stop wasting money on plugins nobody knows or cares about. If we spent time and effort into a server that people were familiar with, numbers would go up, we'd make money (since that's what makes Meepcraft run), and we'd be able to have the money left over to waste it on unique plugins.

It hurts me to watch such a great server go from top dog to absolute trash. After MeepNetworks, we thought we were dying once we were hitting 300 players max.

@Fuzzlr called 300 a hamlet. What is this now? We cannot hit 200 players at all. Where has unique taken us? DOWN THE DRAIN. You all act like this doesn't matter, but it does. Sooner or later, Meepcraft will have diminished enough to the point where you'll realize what's going on, but it'll be too late because we won't have a player base to build upon. Although popular gamemodes might not be attractive to you players, it's what we need here to revive the community.

Before you comment saying that this is all false, look at facts and try to argue my point. I tried my hardest to use only facts in this.
