Just letting you all know of some new skyblock changes.
You've all asked for spawners to be added again, so that all players to have the option to buy. This is about to happen!
We will also be adding in the afk plugin set to 1 hr, as with the spawners being re added we can't have multiple accounts afking at them. As in the rules it is illegal to afk for gain.
But by making it set to 1 hr it still gives you all a chance to have chunks loaded.

We want to try this out to see how well it balances spawn rates and keeping things even across all islands. We will give it a short trial and have a poll later to discuss changes.

Skyblock is a challenge, and if you're on your island working then the chunks will be loaded anyway.
The shop is being reworked and we are also looking at the challenges that are in skyblock, to make it easier for all players new/old to make skybucks.

We're also highly considering adding jobs for an easier beginning transition.

 

Just wanted to check on how people are doing, haven't talked to you guys in a wile. A lot off you will most likely not know who i am, but do not worry about that

I just want to write this thread to congratulate the meepcraft staff for dealing with all the problems so maturely. You guys rock!
(this is not sarcastic I am genuinely serious.)

 

okay. I know there have been an abundance of threads and appeals about staff but I just had to do this.

I know you guys do a lot to make this server the greatest but I feel there is a lack in community input. Is there even a communities word for who gets into the staff team or not? The staff are 1/10th of the community and it seems as though if 1/10th of the community is happy with a person getting staff, then they get accepted for interview. What's the point of having community responses on a thread if they aren't gonna be used lol. And stop being so bias lol.

about vkl's appeal. i'm feeling so much bias from the staff team around it. look at those +1's. he's nice i know but not staff worthy. im feeling as though people +1'ed him because you know, 'it's vkl, he's popular you know you gotta +1 the popular people because staff is a popularity game'
well sorry but it's not. if you think staff is a popularity game, leave this planet lol.

On the application note, I remembered one of the replies I got on one of my (many, many) staff applications, by Klutch (no hard feelings.)

I'm sorry but how was this suppose to help me improve? All you basically said was 'there are other applicants and the competition is tough but you are a very good candidate so we are denying you.' Some of the staff's responses to applications are in depth and well but some just don't even say what you can improve on. I shouldn't need to go ask you in personal message why it was denied.

Courtneyy, I appreciate your thread you recently made and I'm sorry for all the hate you've received.

Staff team, it would be great if you could at least write some response to the keepfighting ban appeals. I've already emailed them giving my response. It seems like you just keep denying without reading or whatever but there needs to be a response of some sort from the whole staff team, to us, the community. Why are you deleting them? Because they're toxic and you don't want people seeing them and start joining the toxic side? It's not toxic. It's truth. They're speaking their mind, and they are allowed to, right?

I have also heard rumours about staff talking behind players' backs. That's unacceptable. Staff and players should be equal. If you have a problem with a player, why don't you go talk to them directly instead of talking about them with some staff members making matters worse?

Many players have been leaving recently. Many are also backing 'keepfighting'. Deleting appeals/hate threads isn't gonna help, is it?? It will just make more people annoyed and angry.

I do love this server, don't get me wrong. I'll always be a player. It just needs some stability. Step up, I know you can.

Hello all, as you have probably noticed I have decided to resign. Minecraft simply doesn't interest me anymore, and hasn't for a few weeks. At first I simply stayed because I was a staff member, but I no longer see a point in staying on when I am bored out of my mind.

The staff team are a great bunch. They are severely under appreciated for what they do. They spend hours of their own time every day for the better of Meepcraft. If a staff member handles your modreq, please thank them, or wish them a nice day. It seriously does make a difference.

I don't know whether the future of meep is bright or not. I don't know if the server will still be here in a year. But if it isn't, know that it is not the staffs fault.

It's unlikely, but if I gain an interest in playing this game again, I will be back applying.

Well I guess everything comes to an end sometimes. I never thought I'd be making this post for Meepcraft but, I guess this run has come to an end, after almost 3 years of annoyance towards the staff and fellow members, I am here to tell you, as of November 27th, 2016 @ 11:30PM PST, I will be leaving Meepcraft. I will still be on the forums though . Most of you may not believe this but, I honestly appreciate everyone I got a chance to interact with, and I will never forget all the memories created on this server. I've made many good friends over the last couple of years on this server, and I want to thank them all. I wouldn't have been here today if it wasn't for them. Here's a (hopefully) full list of them:

Welp it's been 3 years as an ex forum lurker. I occasionally pop by I guess, dunno how the servers doing though, hopefully it's doing alright. It kind of sucks going from 100 to 0 in terms of time I can spend gaming, but I guess that's how life works...
I wonder if people know who I am...

After a few years of waiting, I put my baby together on Wednesday, 9/14/16.





Apologies for the terrible image quality. She is rocking a i5 6600k, an Asus GTX 1070, 16 gigabytes of RAM, a 128 gigabyte SSD, and a 3 terabyte hard drive, among other things. I have not attempted an overclock yet. I jumped into a singleplayer Minecraft world and I averaged 500 fps with maxed graphics without optifine or any mods or resource packs. Also, I plan to be back for awhile. I am sorry I abandoned you all. Life has been very busy, and I am in my Senior year of high school. I also work 4 days a week.

my demotion is something ill be able to shrug off because I have so much I can accomplish <3. I know what im going to do. I was even planning on resigning soon for the following reasons.

• I have two jobs
• My mother is suffering from lesions attached to her brain and cannot form straight words
• I have dreams I want to do
• I will be a singer
• school is gonna slay next year

Hello all, it's Owen Powell. I used to be an extremely dedicated Meepcrafter, going through all of the rituals that popular players would go through. I owned a metropolis, donated to get elite, and even served as a Helper in late 2014. I loved this server dearly. It was exactly what I was looking for on the Internet since before some of you younger players were even born, a virtual world where you could build your niche in an amazing community. Despite the great things that were on this server, I eventually decided I had to leave. I realized I was getting older, I was almost an adult, and I had to get my life started. I wanted to get a head start on my career of choice, being a musician. Meep was holding me back from writing lyrics, because I'd spend all my time here, instead of on a Google document, typing away. I did unofficially quit in early 2015, save for a couple of days in the latter half of that summer. During that period, my lyricism improved exponentially, because I spent so much more time cultivating it. Now, I've written lots of songs and I feel like I can take a break from it for some time, my brain needs to relax for a little while. So I thought to myself "Hmm, why not play some Meepcraft again". But then, I ran into a problem. It's too time consuming. I enjoyed operating my town, and I want to do that again. But with the initial starting price, upkeep, and cost of building materials, I'll have a hard time doing so, because earning Meebles is a challenge, especially for someone with a lifestyle like mine. I'm going to pursue music still, so there'll extended periods of time I won't be able to be online to get the money, and I'm a high-school student, so that'll also take up a good chunk of my time. Plus, I have somewhat of a social life, which would cut into some of my Meep time. There is gambling, which is obviously risky and I would probably end up doing too much and losing money, due to my fairly addictive personality. The only other option is being wealthy in real life and buying Meebles, which I am not. I'm in the middle class, I live with a single mother. I strive to climb high on the socio-economic ladder, but that will take time, time that I can't spend on Meep. Some could say I'm being too demanding, that I don't need to own a decent town to have fun. And for some people, that's the case. For me, however, it's not. To get the best experience I can, I need to have a sufficient amount of control over whatever I'm doing, and a town gives me just that. I can have more creative freedom with the space that I live in, and that's one of the nice things about owning a town on this great server. I'd love to rejoin this place, build myself a nice town, and interact with the awesome community. The problem is Meepcraft isn't super accessible to people like me, Middle-class kids who are shaping their lives and want a virtual place to hang out for a little while.

Ok so a little bit about boredom. For fending off boredom, most people recommend all of these lame time-wasters like cutting down trees or harvesting dead bushes. But I have this special kind of boredom. I want to do something new. Something fun that I have never done before. Something that takes longer than 2 minutes but isn't the same grueling task for about 2 hours. So these are the solutions I have came up with:

1. Set up a lot of tables in your yard or garage in towny. Sell the junk you don't need in a yardsale. Be sure to make the prices as cheap as possible!
2. Build a giant rollercoaster in creative and invite others to ride it! (Use plot flags to give people permission to place/break minecarts.)
3. In creative, use redstone to make different games to help build your skill in archery.
4. Create "posters" (banners) for your towny bedroom that are related to things you like. (I made some LOTR ones)
5. Recreate your real-life house and try to keep proportions as real as possible!
6. Remodel your current house in towny by adding some fresh details. Remember to take before and after pictures!
7. Think of a unique theme for a town that has never been done before and create it!
8. Organize your storage area so thoroughly that even the items in the chests are sorted by color.
9. Find a mountain in the middle of nowhere and build a large iron storage safe in a town outpost.
10. Build a treehouse, big or small!
11. Get hunter job, go on a nether expedition and sell all of the gold.
12. Get in raw meat fights with your pals! (my favorite pastime)
13. Try to build a boat that actually looks good.
14. Build some trampolines or bouncehouses and add friends and fireworks.
15. Try to make the biggest, most colorful firework ever and make like 10 million copies!
16. Go into one of the first towns you ever moved into on meep, and try to find your old house!
17. Reclaim said house and restore it to it's former glory.
18. Disguise as some aggressive mob and follow a random person at spawn. Repeat.
19. Make your own simple 5-10 note jingle with noteblocks.
20. Make the best dance floor ever and a DJ stand. Invite your pals!
21. Join fishing job, get a god fishing rod, build a small boat in the middle of a lake, and fish forever.
22. Blow up a whole biome in wild. You know you want to.
23. Get a 1-plot town on an island in the middle of the ocean and build a hermit shack.
24. Recreate a minigame in creative and use the magic of plot flags to make it realistic!
25. Make a shop that sells something unique! (World flags, pets, ect.)
26. Live the simple life by limiting your storage area to your /chests only. (Or a doublechest)
27. Build the most confusing, large, maze you can think of and have people compete to finish it!
28. Start with full hunger and have an "eating contest" (run around with ur friends until u get hungry and see who can finish a whole cake first)
29. Recreate Mt. Rushmore but using meep players. Build their heads out of different types of stone.
30. Ride every ride and play every game at /pwarp Magickingdom!
31. Promote your store/business with "flyers" (use anvil to name papers and throw them around popular areas)
32. Give your house a doorbell!
33. Recreate Wipeout/American Ninja Warrior in creative and toggle flying off. Host the show!
34. Wear all black like a burglar and raid houses in wild.
35. Make a large playable piano with noteblocks and pressure plates.
36. Start a weird collection on meep. (I collect spider eyes and keep them in my attic)
37. Make a secret entrance to a torture dungeon in your house.
38. Build a school to teach players certain skills.
39. Make a scavenger hunt with clues across different worlds in meepcraft.
40. Heed your redstone skills and try to make a Rube Goldberg machine. (chain reaction machine that is meant to complete a simple task)
41. Make a porch light on your house that automatically turns on at night and become way too proud of your basic redstone skills.
42. Freshen up your house by "painting" the walls (changing the material)
43. Build a giant walk-in closet with fancy piston doors and recreate your irl wardrobe with dyed armor!
44. Make the best strip mine ever with rails and stuff.
45. Try to make a 4-room house that doesn't go out of a 9x9x9 area!
46. Have a college party with trash, drinks and strobe lights!
47. Detail the roads in your town, if you own one. Add more materials to them.
48. Go into the wild and try to survive from scratch in a cave. (No /chest or god tools!)
49. Adjust creative plots perms and invite contestants to participate in a timed building contest.
50. Get 1 of every type of passive animal and keep them as pets in your home!
