Hey, everyone! Projekt:M presents to you the cinematic trailer for the latest quest, the Ocean quest! The intention of the video is to highlight the journey of the warriors underwater and into the deep territory of Levidro. Without further ado, here is the cinematic trailer!

Caleb and VKL should not be banned.

Backstory:
Legendcaleb and VKL were mining at the end of the world. They didn't glitch anywhere, they just walked or nether portaled to the world and mined. That's it. For clarification, these are two separate instances.

However, someone messed up and the world gen at the world borders was vanilla terrain. Did Legendcaleb cause the world gen to be messed up? No. Did VKL? No. They got there by legit means. Besides that, VKL was there for only 4 minutes.

You guys are banning people for your mistakes. They had every right to mine in the world as it was created, glitched or not. It is your fault for creating the world as it is. The burden should not be on players to report bugs, it should be on the staff to find those bugs or reward players that do come forward with reports of bugs. Players should not be punished for doing something as mundane as mining the world, whether they knew about it being a bug or not.

Did you guys know there is an amazing thing called talking to the players at fault? Do you think that Legendcaleb or VKL would have continued to mine had they been warned? The playerbase on this server has grown up. We are adults and just talk to us. Quit treating us like children and quit acting like ban happy mods. You have a very fragile playerbase and got lucky that a worldwide pandemic has people playing this server. I guarantee you guys keep acting like this the longtime players will stop playing, especially after this pandemic is over.

Ok honestly after seeing all the posts about reviving meepcraft, I can't help but not believe that it's even possible at this point. For one, Minecraft itself is a dying game, demonstrated by Badlion's closing and the fact that Hypixel is peaking at a player population 50% of its peak. there is no way in hell a server as dead as meep with a server quality dwarfed by that of servers like hypixel and minehq comes back when the game it is based on is dying. Plus, all the ideas I've seen on how to revive it are so dumb it's unbelievable. No amount of stock plugins or gold value manipulation is going to save the server. Just let it die peacefully and don't spend any more money on Ultimate ranks - fuzz doesn't deserve it if he's not going to put effort into his server. Reviving meepcraft would be harder than making FNAF into an esport - it's just not going to happen.

I completely rebuilt Slicks' Ice Parkour in Creative by watching old YouTube videos to remake the map from the ground up.

It's probably only around 90% accurate, I couldn't fit the entirety of the path to the right from the start and part of the big curve at the top had to be shortened.

But Slicks' Ice has made its long-awaited return (until they reset Creative again), so feel free to check it out right outside of Creative spawn or at the coordinates x: 196 and z: -159.

Recently there seems to have been a spate of negative sentiment regarding some of the staff team’s recent actions. I won't go on a huge rant about VKL’s denial, since, well, VKL is VKL. However, the result seems to have caused some anger amongst the community. So this is an open letter to the staff team—a plea, if you will, for answers.

First off: How much input does the community really have in determining the status of applications? While VKL received numerous upvotes, the application was still denied. Denial of a candidate who the community highly values has become a trend. Although in VKL’s case this denial was justifiable due to his rude comebacks to commenters, I feel that there should be more of an effort to explain the rationale behind decisions. Having already been staff before, I can confirm that there are closed-door discussions on both suggestions and applications. Therefore, I don't think it's too much of a stretch to ask for a bit more transparency there.

For example, an application denial might look like this: “Denied. While you've shown great improvement over the last few months, we don't feel as if you're quite ready to handle the responsibility of being a helper. Your last ban for duping on 9/29 indicates that you wouldn't hesitate to jump at the chance to abuse power for your own benefit, and we can't condone that kind of behavior on the team. If you keep your record clean and continue to help people in shout, we'd love to see you apply in the future!”

It doesn't really take that much effort to write a quick summary of the discussion, does it? Now don't get me wrong—sometimes denials are written this way. But other times, the applicant is left completely in the dark as to where they need to improve.

Now as I mentioned earlier, I won't really argue that denial, as I personally think the staff team made the correct call. However, after the denial, a few threads and comments have been removed by the staff team. Ideally, there's room for dialogue. Though oftentimes these threads can get tricky to moderate, neither deleting entire threads at a time nor removing comments critical of the team is the correct way about this. As we can see, these deletions have led to situations such as an unidentified member (it's not Lordusan by the way, Courtney) writing in the ban appeal section. This “us-and-them” attitude between the high staff team and the player base cannot continue, and I'd like to see that addressed, either in this thread or elsewhere.

So in short, please stop deleting threads and removing “anti-staff” comments. They really just stir up bad feelings and inflame tensions even more.

Finally, on a completely different note: ban appeals. While I agree that some members may be toxic and don't necessarily deserve a second chance on the server right away, I'm not sure denying ban appeals with a message like “Denied. You are not welcome on the server again” is productive. When people see that, they're unlikely to give up on the server and walk away. Rather, they'll ban evade, troll the server with alts, and create a nuisance. Therefore I propose leaving the door open—something like “If you don't ban evade for 2 months, we’ll let you back onto the forums. Then if you contribute on the forums, we'll let you back on, but you better not cause trouble.”

And finally, a message to the community: don't treat members of the staff team like crap. They spend a lot of time ensuring that Meep stays up and running, and none of this would be possible without their efforts. We can't go “$&@! THE STAFF TEAM CORRUPT HATE DOWN BAD REVOLUTION,” because that stirs up emotions on their part, and makes them more resistant to change. So as the cliché goes, kill ‘em with kindness (but firmness).

I want to discuss something with you all. Why does ambassadors have more powers then certain admins? I can understand that admins that just transferred to ambassador has powers. But if a ambassador has been gone for a long time and comes back, should that ambassador be able to boss around like a admin? To be honest i do not think so.

I might be a ignorant 19 year old kid that doesn't know anything about the admin rank and the high staff. But if a helper, mod, S-mod or admin is gone for a long time they get demoted for inactivity should it not be the same for ambassadors? Ambassadors are not staff members, that is what i have been told over and over. But even so they have OP and access to high staff chat channels and other staff perks/channels/communication systems/staff forums powers. Is this ok?

As i stated i might be ignorant and i might not know what i am talking about, so i hope that if you read this you will not tear me open like a present on Christmas eve. And one more thing i want to clarify i am BIASED when it comes to this because this pushed my resignation forward by 2 weeks.

As stated read this and you can also look at it as a simple way for me to get some of my anger out to the world

Although I have played Meepcraft and towny for a couple of years, it was only this last week that I decided to give Skyblock a try. At first I was hooked, because I loved the challenges that the game itself brings. But recently, I find my progress being stifled because of what I learned to believe, is a flaw in one of the plugins or server settings.

My first attempt at making a mob spawner was pretty small and simple; just a basic dark room that I would stand 16-22 blocks away from, especially at night, to get some mobs to show. Many a Minecraft night would come and go, and I would see little to nothing in my sad little room. Maybe it’s not big enough or dark enough. Ok, fine. So then I went searching on YouTube for step-by-step instructions on how to make a no fail mob spawner. Although I made it look different, I stayed within the guidelines to make it work. And over the last 2 real days, I have seen only a handful of mobs. At first I thought maybe it was player error, so I asked people to take a look and each person said it looked like it should work. What’s more, I went to another person’s island and saw that their mob spawner, with a similar design to mine, was working like gangbusters.

After making sure I did everything on my own, I finally did a /modreq and Deljikho was kind enough to take a look. Even he agreed that it should be working, but he said it would need an admin to look at my island to see why I’m not getting the spawns. He said he would pass on the information, but it may take a while. Maybe an hour or so later an Admin was online and talking to people in chat, so I tried to mention my problem and was completely ignored. He had time to try and argue with a player that was being rude and inflammatory, but for someone that had a legitimate gaming concern, I was practically invisible.

Today, many Admin, including Fuzzlr, were on the server addressing some gaming changes. Once again, I briefly mentioned that I’d love for someone to come take a look at a problem that even a SuperMod said was worth looking at, but the only time the Admins seem to have a reply, were to the people that are being disruptive and negative.

Maybe my old age is making me grumpier, but I’m starting to resent how much trolling and negative behavior is tolerated, while players like myself, get ignored about legitimate concerns that affect their gaming experience. I have been a loyal and mature player for at least 3 years here at Meepcraft. I was around before the big server shift and I came back once it returned to its former style. I don’t grief, I don’t troll and except for the rank that I won because I vote practically every day, I am also a paying customer. Is it really wrong of me to expect a higher standard of treatment? Sometimes I think about spending the extra $100+ dollars to get the Ultimate rank, but then I see how much my loyalty and easy-going demeanor is easily disregarded and it reminds me that I’d probably be better off spending that kind of money on something better.

So lately Ive been getting asked by almost everyone what types of changes are staff making. Some of you guys overhear on teamspeak and some just hear from friends. I also understand you have a ton of questions about other things as well. Deljikho came up with an idea for an AMA so this sunday (aiming for 5pm EST) Im going to jump on twitch (twitch.tv/klutchdecals) and answer as many questions live as I can for you guys.
