To be honest, I saw this coming from a mile away. While you're fairly pleasant and decently helpful, I think you're trying too hard for the position. You're constantly mini-modding in /g (to the point where you've become an annoyance. Attempting to enforce rules before you actually get staff isn't really something we need to be seeing, as we have enough staff to actually enforce rules; it seems as if you mini-mod to try to show us you can be an effective staff or something.

There's a difference between "being annoyed with rule breakers" because they willfully diminish others' experiences for the sake of furthering their own, and constantly saying "___, please do not caps-evade" AFTER a helper has already warned the guy. Similarly, oftentimes if someone asks a question in shout and someone beats you to the answer, you'll be like "^." What exactly does a ^ contribute? It's better to not say anything at all.

You really can't bend yourself or put on a mask to get staff--your true personality needs to be compatible with the atmosphere of the staff team. If it's not, sooner or later your real attitude will show, and will likely result in a demotion. Besides, you won't enjoy it either--trust me.

Making a joke in global chat makes you not qualified to become staff? That’s odd considering the current members of staff atm.

You apply 2 days after jess says her server closes and you were/are still staff as of the end according to your forum activity. You were active within the past day.

    -1 no dedication staff wise

edit: you talk about being unable to use ts in your weaknesses. Are you even aware that we dont even have ts anymore? lol
also editing screenie in as proof that you are still staff on said other server and currently active

I know you all shall be wondering about my demotion so here I have copied this from a thread I commented on. I would like to just state I was great in game with helping, connecting with players and also having a laugh. But when it came to forums not so much I made a hand full of comments that never needed to be said, I have never taken into account how you all perceive me I just do me and whether you all liked me or not that's how it would turn out (which for the foremost was/is positive which is great). So with a hand full of comments I made it would have not just make an impact on myself but the team as well. The way I seen it though the demotion was a good thing, sometimes you need to take a step back to continue forward. As well as having a low modreq count I did complete them when they were there but due to timezones there was not that many, I always continued to help when people would message me and when other staff members needed help with modreqs I would get online to help whether others are there to help or not. I see it nothing more than professional, I was a bitter at first because I really enjoyed it but it was the right thing to do to clearly state to me that stupid comments like that will not be tolerated.

With all this being said have a look on forums, see me in game and join in on team speak to see what I am like all round.

A month has gone by in which I do believe I am ready to be staff again, that will all come down to you the people and the team. All we can do is continue to help each other and wait until it opens again.

I copied this into wordpad but not here sorry about that.

Yeah VKL is a risky reference since he has been banned a lot, we talked on Teamspeak a fair amount and in game so I thought it would be suitable, I understand where you are coming from haha.

    Also Paincake is reference.

Introduction: (I will save all programming-related content for the next section)

Hi, I’m Jack, known as EnergyAssassin. I’m a senior in highschool. In the fall, I will be attending University of Wisconsin-Madison. I am very proud to have been accepted and look forward to the experience (but not the loans :/).

In school, I compete with my school’s math club in meets and contests. One of my greatest joys is problem-solving, and this club is an excellent outlet for that. I was honored to be part of the team that took 2nd in our most recent meet. I have also been the Co-President of Technology for my school’s technology club for the past 3 years. During that time, I demonstrated the entire process of building a computer, discussed new technology, and showcased video games. I am also taking AP Calculus BC and AP Physics 1 this year. I took these classes because, like the math club, they challenge me to think and solve. I am very fortunate to have engaging teachers for both of these topics, which I attribute to my passion in them.

Outside of academics, I keep myself busy. Year-round, I rock climb with my friends on our school’s team. Rock climbing is an amazing sport that I only started about a year ago, but I have fallen in love. It’s all about challenging yourself, and has a deep mental aspect besides being physically demanding. During the fall, I have raced with the mountain biking team since sophomore year, which I got the opportunity to captain this year. Mountain biking, while being an awesomely exhilarating experience, has taught me determination. With races lasting over an hour, and the body consuming in excess of 1,000 calories, I have found true exhaustion, and the will to keep moving.

Outside of school, I am the Vice-President of Programming for my venture crew. I am involved with planning outings, and holding effective meetings which includes being an effective communicator. I have met several long-time friend through being a venture scout, and had so many great memories too. This summer we will be going to Summit Bechtel Reserve in West Virginia, where they have a multitude of options for high adventure like downhill mountain biking, zip-lining and backpacking. This has inspired to show my friends the fun of camping, and I led a little excursion to a local state park for some rock climbing and tent camping this last summer.

With the rest of my time, I mostly play video games. Obviously I play MeepCraft, which I joined over 4 years ago. Something @Cooleysworld said that really stuck with me back in TeamSpeak a while ago was that Meep never leaves you. (I know I’m messing up the wording but the general idea is there) I have no doubt I have sunk over 1000 hours into Meep over these years, and I’ve always had fun. I also got into Breath of the Wild recently. It’s my favorite game from the recent past. I love how much fun is to explore and find little secrets that are hidden all over the place. I bought an Oculus fairly recently as well, which I love. Everyone should definitely try VR.

Music-wise, my favorite artists are Blink-182, Post Malone, Taylor Swift, Kendrick, Chance, John Denver and Billy Joel. Spotify discover weekly is awesome for finding new music, and it has definitely turned me on to entire genres. Blink is very special to me because one of their albums, Enema of the State, is my favorite of all time. Besides listening, I play Tuba in my school’s band, and also play bass in a band with my friends. My favorite TV shows are The Office, How I met your Mother, and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Please describe your experience as a developer. meepshowcase.mp4

Three plugins I have made in the past are showcased above.

Grow is a plugin that I made to be like Conway’s Game of Life, but in 3D. Conway’s Game of Life simulates a sort of cellular growth. It counts the number of neighbors a cell has, and that determines if a cell will live, die or reproduce. Too many neighbors, the cell dies from overcrowding, too few, the cell dies of loneliness, and at the right amounts, the cell will just stay alive, or reproduce and make another cell. In 3D, there are just more neighbors to consider and more ways for the cells to expand. I am very happy with the result as I have made the Game of Life in just about every programming language I’ve learned. (Visual C#, Javascript, Java, Python)

SimpleLog logs whenever someone breaks or places a block, and records the user, the block, and the time. This can then be viewed later. Data is saved and retrieved using MySQL, and it would be very easy to adapt this plugin for more events.

MiniGame is a plugin that introduces powerups to PvP. An admin can create any number of arenas they like to play this in. An admin can also customize where the arena will spawn players, and where powerups will spawn in the arena. Powerups include a speed boost, and a health restoration. However, the system would be very easy to build upon and add more power ups. Also something to note is that the Arena that an admin sets up can be saved to be loaded automatically when the server restarts.

Two plugins not shown in the above showcase are MBombs and MazeGenerator. MBombs adds a firebomb, a variant of TNT that sets nearby things on fire. It has its own crafting recipes, and works with dispensers. Any type of bomb could be made using MBombs as a base. MazeGenerator is a fairly experimental plugin that makes a maze out of random blocks, using a simple algorithm I made to design the maze.

This year, I am taking AP Computer Science Principles to improve my understanding of computer science theory. Last year, I took the AP Computer Science A exam, which is solely about programming in Java (what plugins are developed in). I am proud to say I received a 4 on the exam, which AP defines as well qualified to do the work required in an introductory class in college. In attending college in the fall, I will be studying computer science. Not only do I have the knowledge required, I will be only get better as I study in college. I have a deep passion for learning and programming, which I described in this essay I wrote for my college applications.

In competing through Future Business Leaders of America, I made a database application to manage a library’s users, books, and checking them out. It used Microsoft Access database, which is quite similar to MySQL. A big focus for me was to make it user friendly, and there are many helpful user experience improvements included. I programmed this in Visual C#, a language similar to Java. At state, I placed 2nd and will continue to nationals over the summer.

In AP Computer Science Principles which I described earlier, I made a program that simulates natural language based on Markov chains using Node.js. The most popular implementation of these is SubredditSimulator on reddit. My final product was a discord bot that continually adds what my friends say to its word bank for simulation. I have attached a version that works in the browser and doesn’t require Node for easier use.

Using unity, I am working on a long-time project called bricks. At its most basic, it allows building with lego blocks in VR. I have very big ambitions for this project, but for right now I have attached the script that snaps two parts together. The more I worked on it, the more it amazed me how much needed to go into making it work right. This script was written in C#.

One of my many implementations of Conway’s game of life was in JavaScript. It’s as described before: a cellular growth, this time in 2D as they traditionally are.

My official programming instruction started in 2015-2016 by learning Visual Basic, GameMaker and Scratch. Then, in 2016-2017 I learned Java in AP Computer Science A. I think that having learned programming in a structured environment, I have a much stronger foundation than a self-taught developer. Today, I continue experimenting with new forms of programing.

My most recent project has been making a plugin to add tab-completions to all Towny commands. It works for static commands, like suggesting a subcommand such as /resident friend, and for variables like suggesting players for /resident friend add <Name>. I made this as a part of Meep’s Community Developers, where Meepers can contribute to open-source plugins. I am very proud that my work will (hopefully soon) be implemented in MeepCraft and help out other players. It was an amazing journey working on it and I am very proud of the result.

What programming languages are you familiar with? Very Comfortable: Java, C#

Comfortable: Javascript, Python (MySQL, YAML, HTML, CSS)(These I realize aren’t programming languages but I feel are relevant to being a developer)

What are you most proud of as your work as a developer? I am most proud of my discord bot I created (I mentioned it earlier, it uses Markov Chains to simulate natural language). While I am proud of the code I wrote, I am more proud of the effect it had. My friends still check in with our “Friend” after over a month. He consistently replies to people with hilarious sayings that make him seem human. I love that my program could have such an awesome impact on my friends.

How do you plan to enrich the experience of MeepCraft with your development contributions? I plan to help out in any way to help ease the load of other Techs and contribute to solving some underlying problems Meep has. Given my experience and passion in game development, I would love to be involved with Meep’s minigames. However, I also understand the need to prioritize other projects. Ultimately, I hope my work can help out the server I love so much.

Do you have a GitHub account or personal website? If so, please provide the link(s) here. I do not have a large amount of work on GitHub, instead I have uploaded all of the code referenced above here: portfolio - Google Drive

Introduction: Hello, my name is CasualJaden, although most of you call me by my real name, Jaden. Right now i am 13 years old, and I'll be turning 14 on July 29th. I've lived in California all my life and I've never been outside of North America. Most of my free time is spent playing Meepcraft, programming, browsing the internet, or tweaking my computer. I'm not much of an outdoor person although biking and roller blading are my favorite sports. Next year I'll be entering high school (9th grade), and although I don't know what to expect, I'm very excited to see what the future has in store for me. My two favorite subjects are Math and Science, and I've always been a straight A student with the exception of 0-2 B's. When I grow up I plan to be a Systems Administrator or Programmer, although I haven't quite ruled out which one is better yet. I joined MeepCraft in late 2013 while looking for a fun server to play. Like many others, I instantly fell in love with it's community. Besides the community, Towny was was what separated MeepCraft from other servers for me. I loved the idea of competing with other players in the economy while helping new ones out to get started. After I joined Vamp1re_Man's town, Porkville, my urge to help people caused me to recieve Assistant. I kept that rank for months until I got perminately banned for xray in early 2014. To this day, I still question why I made that mistake. After three months of avoiding MeepCraft and reflecting on my actions, I appealed on the forums, and the staff were gracious enough to unban me, even though I didn't follow the proper format. For all of 2014 and 2015 I was an Assistant and Co-mayor of Sawfalls, a Medievil town with about 150 residents. In late 2015, the town fell from lack of funds and I quite MeepCraft out of fustration. I casually logged on every month or so to see how the server was doing, but I rarely played. In February of 2017 it came to my attention that the server had reset and was no longer EULA-compliant. I saw this as an opportunity to re-join the server with a clean slate. Now I am a happy Co-mayor of BraveHeart, and I've only been banned for a day since I came back. Since the reset I've made numerous friends, and I've seen many of my old friends come back.

Please describe your experience as a developer. I've always enjoyed creativity and problem-solving, and I love how programming allow me to have fun, be creative, and solve problems. It also allows me to make the lives of those who don't know how to program easier and more enjoyable. When I was about ten years old I had an old 32bit Windows Vista machine with an Intel Pentium and 4GB of Ram. The machine didn't have Wi-Fi so I saw it as useless at first, but since I had a Kindle with internet, I Google'd things to do with it. I learned about Batch scripting and for a few months I made console applications and games with the language. I soon grew bored of Batch because I couldn't do much more but parse input and write to the console. I then discovered an app on Google Play called "AIDE" (Android Integrated Development Environment) which allowed me to program Android applications with only the tablet. For about a year, I worked on a calculator app which I named "Ultra Calculator". It had everything from basic addition and subtraction to manuals on how to use trigonometric functions. My family and I then moved to another house, and I got a new computer with an i3, 6GB of RAM, and Wi-Fi! Back when I was learning Android app development, I used mainly Java, but had heard about C++ because Android supported it too. To get a better grasp on the language, I downloaded Code::Blocks, a full desktop C++ IDE, and I made a few text-based applications. For my 6th grade class talent show I made a Tic-Tac-Toe artificial intelligence which I garunteed would beat or tie anyone at the game. Some of my classmates swore that they could beat the computer, but they never did. Each summer I tried to learn a new language/technology, and that summer I gave the game a GUI with WinAPI. The next summer, I learned about Linux and since then I've used Ubuntu, Debian, and now Arch. That summer I also made a Snake and Maze game with OpenGL. Last year in school I enrolled in a Computer Science class, which taught me the basics of 3D printing and also refreshed my knowledge of web development. This summer I have decided to learn Bukkit API to make Spigot plugins. About a month ago I dived into the subject and my first plugin was a home plugin similar to the one MeepCraft has. My next plugin became a mail plugin that followed the new specification at Trello, which I am still trying to get MeepCraft to implement so that its players can enjoy a better form of communication. Finally, my last plugin before my application was a TNT Run plugin named "TNT Fun."

What programming languages are you familiar with? I am mostly familiar with Batch, Bash, C++, Java, Python, SQL, PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, although I am a fast learner and can learn other languages quickly.

What are you most proud of as your work as a developer? Currently I have two projects that I am most proud of. The first one I feel I put the most work into, and the second I am proud of because it got much recognition. The first project was my Maze game. I made this game last summer and it took me nearly an entire month. The game would generate a random maze using the Depth First Search Algorithm, which you can learn about here: Maze generation algorithm - Wikipedia. I recommend you watch the demonstration video, it is truly fascinating. The algorithm basically goes out on a random path and markes every block it reaches as visited. When it reaches a dead end, it goes back through the path and starts a new branch. Once it finds another dead end, it repeates the process. Eventually the algorithm will have filled up the entire canvas and backtraced to its original position, which stops the entire process. One the maze was generated in the game, it would render it with OpenGL. The player would start as a green dot and could navigate the maze with the arrow keys or WASD. Once completed, a point was given and a new maze was generated. The reason I am so proud about this project is because it was very complicated and required a lot of work, plus it was very fun to play once the project was completed. The second project I am most proud about was a Python script that I used during my last school year to win a competition against all of the class periods, including my own. Our Language Arts teacher told us that the first person to solve a riddle and email her the answer by a certain time would win a candy bar of their choice. Once I solved the riddle, I wrote a Python script in about 10 minutes to send the answer to my teacher through my school email account by the defined time. Although the script was fairly simple, it got a ton of recognition. The next day I got every response from "Congradulations!" to "Cheater!" to "How'd you do that?" Even though it required minimal effort, this script ultimately made me feel proud of my knowledge, practice, and creativity.

How do you plan to enrich the experience of MeepCraft with your development contributions? My ultimate goal as Tech would be to fix bugs and help new features and ideas become a reality faster so that the community can enjoy them sooner. For too long I felt like MeepCraft needed more developers then it has right now. I've always shown interest in becoming Tech, but now I've finally taken the effort to learn and practice the necessary APIs, languages, and skills so that I can apply my knowledge to this cause. I'm not sure what area of development I'd like to work on, as I haven't developed a preference yet. However, if I am given a choice, I'd like to work on the features that are most important to the players and my colleagues. I am also very trustworthy, as I've been assistant in one town and Co-mayor of two towns. I have never stolen someone else's property, and people have trusted me multiple times to keep confidential information. Lastly, I am willing to dedicate as much time necessary to ensure that MeepCraft has the security, stability, and enjoyable experience that its players deserve, and to learn new things that might be necessary down the road. One of my biggest fears in applying for Developer is that I might be tossed of as a "script kiddy." Although I don't have as much experience in plugin development as our current developers, I do have motivation and nearly four years of programming experience. If I get accepted, I'd like to learn more from the experts and expand upon my current knowledge of plugin development.

Introduction: Hello, my name’s Ellie (never would have guessed, right?) and I’ve been playing on the server for around 7 months now. As you can see, I’m 21 (soon to be 22 on February 13th! However, try not to remind me; I feel old enough already ;) ) and I’ve recently graduated university. I studied English Language and Literature and came out with a 2:1 honours degree from Hull University, Scarborough Campus. Living by the sea was pretty cool, but I do have a quiet vendetta against any and all seagulls because of it. If you’re thinking “a vendetta against seagulls?! Why would a seagull murder her family?!” I’m afraid it’s not that exciting, they stole my chips a lot.

Since leaving university, I’ve been taking some time out to learn new skills and apply for jobs. For instance, I know how to patch roofs, I taught myself to knit, I’ve been drawing more and trying to brush up on my writing (*Mario Kart) skills. I was employed by a telephone bank in October ‘16, so I have officially joined the working world and I hope to be there for quite some time until I’m ready to move on to something more degree oriented.

My hobbies include reading (an awful lot of reading), knitting, walking, going to the cinema, playing games (mostly minecraft, sims and Mario kart) and I’m hoping to get back into netball now I’m home again.
My current plans for the future are to save up enough from working so I can move out of my parents’ house and into my own.

Why should you be Helper? For the purposes of making this section easy to follow, concise and clear, I’m going to split it into sections.

    Experience:

I have no experience of being staff on a minecraft server but I’d like to tell you all about some game/life experience that I feel can connect to the role and its requirements.

Firstly, I am part of a testing group for an appstore game called Highrise (it’s a bit like habbo hotel for those who haven’t heard of it), as well as being an in-game moderator for several high volume destinations and part of a virtual Helpdesk for newbie players. We test big, new updates for a couple of weeks before it’s due to be released officially. This means we have to be critical of the work being presented to us as well as praising things that perform well. Consequently, I am not afraid to point out weaknesses in operations or the level of how user friendly something is. If I see an issue with something, I will calculate the problem and suggest solutions; if I cannot think of a solution myself then I will present the problem to our group and we’ll work it out together. I’m a massive fan of constructive criticism, why criticise something and not suggest a workable solution or improvement? That isn’t helpful to anyone!

I mentioned above that I work for a telephone bank; my main duties are helping customers out with lost cheques, unrecognised debits/credits, self-certification tax residency forms and direct debits and standing orders, to name a few (and apparently I’ve recently been promoted to draqq’s personal savings adviser, but that’s neither here nor there). Thus, I’m helping customers often in very problematic situations. I feel it’s important to keep a calm head (even when it’s ridiculous amounts of money eg. £100,000+), to reassure the person you’re helping that you can find a solution, and if not, then you can find someone who will find a solution. I believe the main thing is to remain positive and remain supportive with team members and customers/players.

    Characteristics and Beliefs:

One of the main reasons I brought my work up is because I am dealing with sensitive information entrusted to me by my employers and by the people I help every single day. If there is no trust in a partnership, then the partnership fails. It’s that simple. If a player can’t come to you in confidence with a problem that’s making them unhappy, then there is no point in being a Helper or other staff member. You need to be reliable, positive, trustworthy, up for some hard work when it’s required and you need to be mature enough to realise that sometimes things just aren’t going to work out the way you want them to. Realism is a trait I truly value. It is important to be upfront about something, to assess the whole of a situation and to realistically think what the best form of action is. I believe I have all of these qualities.

I’m quite a laid back person; I have my moments like everyone, though, I wouldn’t be human otherwise. Self-assessment is very important to me. If I’m not actively looking for ways to improve myself and work on my own characteristics and weaknesses and showing how to act in a mature and conscientious manner, then I feel it’s not prudent to comment on someone else’s if they’re acting negatively or with disregard for others’ feelings. I think hypocrisy is one of the major hold-backs when talking about improvements in someone’s actions and behaviour. If you warn someone for a distasteful joke and then make one later, why are you any better than them? Staff should uphold standards and be a rule abiding member of the community. (Obviously the last point is all hypothetical, I haven’t actually seen this happen).

I’m also going to make reference to my age; I feel a lot of players are younger than myself, so if I’ve been through something they’re going through (eg. Exams, school, applications, college and so forth), then if they’re wanting advice I will try my best to help out. I think there’s a lot of pressure in today’s society for young people being made to pick a job they want to do when they’re older and they’re still in school, barely starting out. Some are fine with that, I definitely wasn’t. I had no clue, and I still don’t, but that’s okay. I’ve met a lot of 30+ year olds who don’t know what they want to do! It’s important to reassure people that they don’t have to decide everything right that very second. I think this last point could relate to Meepcraft quite well, I think it would be valuable for everyone to have the mind-set that it’s a work in progress. It’s never going to be perfect, it’s never going to be everything some people want in a server, but we can do our very best to make sure it’s improving every day. Whether that be with the actual server or just general atmosphere for the players.

    Work ethic:

I am not afraid of hard work or difficult situations. I work best when I’m under pressure and am very methodical in my processes. I do a lot of admin work with my job, meaning I have to be time efficient so that when I’m not on the phone, I’m actively keeping up to date with my paperwork. In doing that, I can leave at the end of the day feeling like I’ve done some valuable work.

I take a lot of pride in the things I do; this means I do my best no matter what, I want to feel that I can say I’ve done a good job. If I haven’t done a good job then I need to take a look at myself, work out what went wrong and improve so I can do better next time.

Inclusivity is something very important to me. It could be just a simple “welcome to the server” or helping to get someone started out to speaking to someone you’ve never spoken to before, playing with people whose friends aren’t usually on at that time and they’re bored. Or it could be seeing someone getting shut down in /g chat and sending them a message asking if they want to hang out or just being friendly. If we want to see the server grow, then we need to be seen as welcoming to new players and not displaying favouritism.

    Involvement:

I hope many of you have seen me talking and helping out in /g chat; I realise I haven’t been here so long but I’m actively learning new things about the server every day and am becoming more confident in answering questions and speaking to all of you. If I haven’t spoken to you yet, then hello! I hope we’ll get to know each other soon and maybe play together sometime because I’d like that a lot. You can find me in the wild usually or just milling about in spawn doing some exploration and maybe playing a few minigames.

What are your weaknesses? I feel like I just want to stress in this section that everything mentioned here is a work in progress and I am actively working on improving my weaknesses.

I am rather insecure in the way that I doubt myself quite often; I know this isn’t something you want in a staff member but I am improving, you should’ve seen me when I was in high school, haha. I have trouble with being incredibly nervous before going into something but being absolutely fine when I’m actually doing it. This does hold me back in group discussions (especially vocal ones, I’m fine typing), so god help me if I get an interview for this. I think the main thing I’m trying to say is that I often build myself up to panic and think negatively even though I know I’ll be fine. Which can hinder me, but I am always pushing to get through it.

I’m also not particularly tech-savvy. Some things about computers and the actual downloading and crashing with minecraft are examples of things I probably would need to google the answer for. Most of the time, I would just advise to switch off and back on. However, I am learning; and it’s often from the younger players on minecraft, which is wonderful!

Because I work quite a bit in somewhat of a stressful job, I may not be available to log on quite so much on Mondays/Thursdays/Fridays/Sundays until late at night (and Thursdays probably not at all, as I work from 11:30-21:00gmt), by which time I am probably not concentrating as much as I could be. However, three days of the week I’m all yours, so I feel like I could make up for it there.

I am still getting used to the forums, so bear with me, I’m still learning but at the moment I’m a bit slow! I’m getting there, though.

Overall, I would absolutely love to be a member of Meepcraft’s staff team, I feel like we can all have a fresh start with the server reset and I’d love to be a part of that in helping players get used to everything again and welcoming back old and new faces. I know I could be a valuable member of the team and help in making Meepcraft an amazing server to play on. I just love the community we have here, I’ve never had a problem with anyone that I couldn’t sort out; like everyone, I have had my moments of frustration but this is what makes us human and I hope that we can all work together to pull ourselves back from the reset. If you see me in-game then please say hello, and let me know how your day is going, I’m always up for a chat.

Please give any other information you might think is useful for us to know: If you’d like me to elaborate on anything I have said, then please don’t hesitate to ask. All feedback is welcome :) Thank you for reading!

Introduction: Hello! As many of you may know, I am DeerlandingXD, a citizen of Meepcraft since early 2013. I have 4 siblings and live in a small town in Massachusetts. I love to make friends with people, and am a generally happy person. I’m 13 years old, and for those of you who don’t know, I’m a girl! I have, for almost all my life, had a passion, or at least an interest, in architecture. I have only recently begun to situate myself deeply in architecture, but for my whole life I have always loved to see new houses, unique buildings, and almost any structure that has an aspect of design. In Minecraft, I love to build houses, terraform mountains, or make any type of build that comes to mind. When I am at home, I love to research different types of buildings and sketch out some of my own. Along with busying myself in architecture and minecraft, I love to read, write, play sports (my two favorite being archery and soccer), and create art. I love to make things, whether they are drawings or paintings or sculptures made from clay, and I have always been told I have an imaginitive mind. Recently this past Summer, I attended an architecture summer camp, where I learned more about architectural design. In sports, I love to be part of a team, which is one of the reasons I’m applying today. I love school, and my favorite subjects are Science, Art, and Literature. I make a habit of reading all kinds of books and stories, mostly ones that feed my imagination! Now that you know me a little bit better, let’s get on to the application!

Why should you be Architect? I think, as an Architect for the server, I could do many great things. I love to build, as you already know, and I put loads of effort into my builds. I also take constructive criticism and feedback very well, which in my opinion is a very important asset to being an Architect. I am a determined builder who, though at times can be discouraged, will try my hardest to not stop until I get the build done. Even if it means sacrificing some free time on Meepcraft, so be it. Along with building things such as houses, I am a well-practiced terraformer. As you will see in many of my builds, they all have one thing in common: landscaping. Whether using WorldEdit or doing it by hand, I enjoy terraforming equally as much as I enjoy building houses, which can help me out in many areas. Along with determination and attention to detail, I also have a very good imagination, which may come from hours upon hours of reading books. My imagination will help come up with great ideas for maps, arenas, or any type of build. I am a well-rounded builder who knows of many different styles, and will not hesitate to learn more if needed. I am not afraid to ask questions, as I know that you can never learn too much! Naturally, I have a few weaknesses: As I mentioned before, I tend to get discouraged later in my build, but I think that the combination of (a) the prospect of building for a purpose and (b) all of the other architects yelling at me to get it done will speed up the process and help me keep on track. I also realize that my lack of teamspeak is crippling, though I hope it will not be too much of a detriment, for I have talked about this with other architects and have found out that they use other programs to communicate, one of which being Slack. All in all, despite my weaknesses, I think I could be a great contribution to the Architect team, and I hope you will consider! Thank you for taking the time to read this.

What builds have you completed on the server and where might they be located? My main builds are either in my creative plots, various houses in Freyview (alpha), town spawn for Raja (beta) and various houses in the town, and duel/1v1 arena for kitpvp (built with andrewrobins247)

Please give any other information you might think is useful for us to know: For those of you that don’t know, this might be helpful: I am going to highschool next year, so I may not be on next year as much on weekdays, but should be on the same amount on weekends. Even with highschool, I will try as hard as I can to get on. Other than that, I’m a pretty open book, so most of you may know almost anything there is to know about me. However, if you wish to know more, don’t hesitate to ask.

How much experience do you have using Voxel and Worldedit? I have plenty of experience with WorldEdit, and though I have little to none using Voxel, I am a quick learner and learned most WorldEdit commands through experimenting by myself!

    Introduction:

Hola, bonjour, hello whatever language you speak, it’s me, Naythen, also known as ReadingRockstar to most of you. I have been playing MeepCraft since November 17, 2012. Besides Minecraft, I love to swim, read, and play League of Legends. As the time I spent on MeepCraft progressed, I learned new things, had fun, and explored the world of what it is like to wander through the true, “towny,” experience.

Something I would like to address is my recent purging of account security. ReadingRockstar was recently hacked, but I assure you that I now have complete security of the account, as the email and password were changed.

Why you should be Helper/Mod ?

There are several different reasons I believe that I am qualified and ready for staff:

    Experience:

I have been staff twice in the entire time I have been on MeepCraft. The first was right before CG came, where I was TrialMod for about a week. As TMod, I worked vigorously and tried to achieve/complete the most things that I could. One of the key components of being staff I learned was patience. I learned that sometimes there are people who take longer to comprehend different situations, and multiple explanations were a common occurrence. The second time I was staff was at the start of the, “New MeepCraft,” where I was promoted to helper, and then to moderator in two weeks. Within a few days of being mod, I was asked to run an interview, which taught me that I don’t have to be nervous. I think the last and most important thing that I absorbed while being staff was to be efficient. As a staff member, you want to find out how to make the most things get done adequately in the correct time frame.

    Dedication:

While I returned on my main account about a week ago, I had been hiding in the shadows on my alternate account. I didn’t want to arise anything about me being back until I had the possession of my account that was hacked, as I mentioned earlier. My dedication originates in the fact that I was striving to play the server, and help others as much as I could. However, it was difficult as if there was questions in shout, most players answered before me. My struggle to play MeepCraft was a pure example of my dedication, and how I wanted to reconstruct my activity.

    Justification:

Now, you may be asking, why you? What makes you better than anyone else applying for helper these days? As I mentioned earlier, I have experience, but also, I have a lot of personality traits that amount up to what is expected of a staff member. I would recognize myself as kind to others. Although I am a blunt person, I attempt to more often than not show a great level of understanding and benevolence when speaking to anyone. Maturity is another one of my key components. I maintain a down-to-earth feel in a consistent manner, while trying to be casual simultaneously. Last, my empathetic disposition. I tend to put myself in the position of those I approach. I go through the thought process of, How would I feel if I were them? I find this to be the most effective way to conduct oneself around others, especially if you are assisting them with anything, i.e; modreqs, questions, etc.

    Weaknesses:

I have many more weaknesses than I will name here. I feel these are the most important ones that would influence my time as a staff member.

    1. Argumentative

I like to argue. Always have, probably always will. As I spoke of earlier, I am blunt and not at all afraid of portraying my opinion as it is. Sometimes, I do go overboard when I believe someone is acting rather incompetent. In a staff situation, arguing can be productive, but in past experiences arguing has had harsh consequences for myself.

    2. Inquisitive

Not that me being inquisitive would affect me being staff directly, but I ask many, many questions, which infrequently, but in intervals is referred to as me being nosy or unknowledgable. I like performing my duties precisely and accurately. If I feel a question needed, it will be asked, I assure you.

    3. Holding grudges

I don’t believe that it will happen, but if a staff member or a player did do something I found to be atrocious and obnoxious, rude and inconsiderate, etc., a grudge may form. While I will still cooperate with said member, I would try to avoid them at all costs.

    Conclusion:

As a staff member, I believe that I could provide many assets and provide new ideas within the community. My empathy and efficiency would ensure I get the job done right, but in a

timely manner. My experience would broaden my horizons to assist the the staff members who may be struggling or confused. Thank you for viewing my application!

Introduction: Hello everyone, I am TimtheFireLord and here is a quick introduction to my life in and out of Meep. In my free time I enjoy listening to music, playing on Meep and other games (mostly Meep though), rock climbing, playing with my siblings, reading, and building Legos. I usually play on Meepcraft later at night, which is why some of you on the East coast have only seen me a few times. If you want to catch me online check at around 11:00, which is when I usually log on. I am in 8th grade, and am enrolled in all honors classes and a program through Johns Hopkins University called the Center for Talented Youth, through which I was recently awarded a medal for scoring in the top 5% scorers in the world on the SATs. (If you're in CTY, tell me and we can talk. :D ) I have ADHD in real life (yes I was officially diagnosed) and I have to be medicated at the daytime to keep me calm. However, when I am on Meepcraft it seems to work as well as the medicine, because if it didn't then I would most likely have been perm-banned a few months ago. I am extremely active on forums, I am on them at least 4 times a day for 30 minute to an hour periods. I was the mayor of the Alpha town NightVale until a glitch removed my plot and my mayor rank (it is being fixed now). I used to barely be on TeamSpeak, but I have now been improving my activity a lot, and am on TS almost every time I play on Meepcraft. I have never been banned or temp-banned in the six months that I have been playing on Meepcraft, and am proud of that. I have made a whole lot of friends over the past half-year, and I honestly have as much of an attachment to some of them that I do to some of my friends I know personally. I tend to think of myself as a very social person, to the point that I almost talk too much sometimes. I have been told that I am funny, but I just speak my mind and it ends up coming out funny. I am also a pretty modest person, so some of this stuff will probably be a bit of an understatement. And now that you know a whole run-on paragraph of information about me, let us progress to the important parts.

Why you should be a Meepcraft staff member: I believe that I am fit for the position of helper on this server for multiple reasons. This section will be in the form of a list with elaborated reasons after the bullets, but you can simply look at the headings if you are tend to skim through applications.

[Community Involvement] - I like to think of myself as very socially active both in real life, and in Meepcraft. Whenever I am logged on, I am either talking in shout and TeamSpeak, or AFK to post on forums. I am active enough that I'm kind of well known in the Meep community, I think. And by participating in shout, I don't mean advertising my town, I mean actually contributing to conversations and starting some of my own.

[Helpfulness] - I know this is kind of a given fact for anyone who is seriously applying for staff but I love helping out. Obviously I do, considering I am applying. But anyhow, I try my best to answer any questions I see presented both in shout, and on forums. However, a lot of the time I message the person their answer if the explanation is longer and will clog up chat.

[Personality] - I have been told that I am nice, and I do try to be as hard as I can, and actually get upset if I offend someone. I am slightly sensitive when it comes to that kind of thing. I think it's honestly better to be a fun person to be around and tries to make normal conversation and make people laugh than to be someone who makes fun of people in shout and is well-known for that instead of their trustworthiness or kindness.

[Helpfulness Part Two: Personal Issues] - While I do love helping people enjoy their time on the server, I honestly get the most satisfaction when I help someone out with issues in their social or personal life. It literally brings a smile to my face knowing I have improved their lives. If you had read my previous staff application you would have seen the story about FlameViper, which literally changed my life view. But I have also helped @Killer2themx out when he felt betrayed by the rest of his friends, and needed a new one. I tpa'ed to him and we became good friends fast, and spent the next hour running around his town and trying to build a super-secret waterfall spy door. :)

[Staff Experience] - I am friends with a good handful of staff members so I know what it is like to have to stop what you are doing at a moments notice to take care of a modreq, and I am ready for that responsibility. I am also the mayor of the alpha metropolis, NightVale. In my opinion it takes dedication to have your money sucked out day by day out of a loyalty to the community you made and a sense of being a role model and home-giver to those that live there. I only have about 220k in the town bank and my personal balance is approximately 4k, which makes it hard at times but the town staff and I all find a way to keep it going. :)

[Activity] - I am very active on Meep, so active in fact that I once stayed up all night on a Tuesday school night playing Meep, and I still made the bus the next morning. You can even look in Xxnine_tailsxX Signature that I need to go to bed. :p

[Availability of Proof} - I record absolutely every time I play on Meepcraft so I am able to provide video evidence of any kick or ban that I make. I am also working on setting up a YouTube channel so that I can post these, because a select few are quite amusing.

[Free Time] - I am usually just running around towny or playing a minigame when I am in-game, so I have plenty of time to do modreqs.

Weaknesses:Here is a list of all the negative traits that I possess which may possibly hinder my ability to be an efficient and respectable staff member. Now keep in mind that these are simply the weaknesses that I am aware of, so feel free to include more that you have noticed in the comments section if you feel that I missed one.

[Personality] - I can be immature at times, but not in the sense that I am making offensive jokes or "trolling", just that I sometimes spell words wrong on purpose if I want to convey the sense that I am using a certain voice or I want to sound silly. I also can have an overbearing sense of humor and I like to make people laugh, which could be a negative.

[Typing Skills] - I tend to misspell words when I am typing rapidly, and still use what is known as the "pecking" typing method, which could hinder my ability to type commands in a rush, such as kicks.

[Sleep] - Due to staying up late constantly for Meep, maybe once a week I take a night off because too much Meep can be a bad thing. This puts a small dent in my activity, but hopefully it is not a concern, because my health is important. xD

Conclusion: Alas, thus ends Timmeh's Meep-staff application. Please feel free to comment on your opinion as to whether or not I am suited to serve the server (See what I did there? *wink wink*) Put a -1 if you believe I am not fit, a +/- if you believe I have potential, but am not ready for now, and a +1 if you think I should be a part of the team. Thank you very much for reading this application, and I am immensely looking forward to hearing your feedback.

Im pretty disappointed in the comments I see from you all. As I read through this, Im seeing a few comments that are positive whether they are + or -, and then Im seeing some super negative, disrespectful comments.

When someone files an app, its essential you maintain a level of professionalism while having the privilege to comment on them. Some of the comments are very discouraging and just rude. The point is feedback, not to attack someone with the excuse "you should be able to take it".

The more of it I see, the more I wanna make apps private.

You have complete control of your account so I see there being no reason for you to be denied anymore. If people are still a -1 from what happened 7 months ago it was extremely minor so she knows how much leaking is not tolerated. I'm sure Dylan understands how he affects your chances and should stay out of situations this time around since it should be clear by now how much this means to you.

I hope to see you on the team soon.

Introduction: Hello! My name is Zarduck I am 16 years old and many of you will probably know me. I have been playing Minecraft since 2012 and Meepcraft since around 2013. during this long time I have been able to make all kinds of new friends and build all kinds of structures and contraptions. In real life I am quite active, playing rugby often and football, I also greatly enjoy listening to music.

Why should you be Architect? I enjoy building and feel I am at a high enough level of it where I can help the server by building for it. I would say I would say I am most experienced in a 'medieval' theme but I am open to all kinds of building styles and feel confident in my ability to complete them to a high standard. I would say my strength are in my determined nature to finish a build once I have started it and I think I am good t interacting positively with people i work with and for.

What builds have you completed on the server and where might they be located? Flame's underground section
    Captaincreepz house

Please give any other information you might think is useful for us to know: If you ever want u can just /msg me in game or /tpa to me and I can show you my builds.
Have experience with world painter in world design and mapmaking
