Hello Dawn, I'm going to give you some advice. Don't try to be something you're not.

What are you good at?​

• You're very loyal to your true friends. You don't hide anything from them.
• You care about the server.
• Very informative, and will get information for others when needed.
• You'll catch a grenade for those you care about.
• Can easily detect feelings and understands the outcomes of actions.
• Respectful of others feelings, and is very aware of how a comment may effect someone.

What do you struggle with?​

• Drama, gossip, and the gullibility to believe secondhand sources.
• Not always welcoming to newcomers.
• Easy to act on instinct, even if there is a clear understanding of consequences.
• Dependent on what others think.
• Not always the best at explaining things in a convincing or professional manner.
• Self-centered, does not pay attention to the emotions of others.

What are the average traits of a leader?​

• Emotional Stability: The ability to tolerate frustration and stress.
• Confidence: Trusting yourself to make the right decision.
• Enthusiasm: Enjoying and being actively involved in your job.
• Social Skills: The ability to explain things in an efficient and careful way that gets things done.
• Intuitive: Knowing when to trust your instinct, and adapt when things change. Be the psychic!

• Empathy: Having a sense of understanding to gain the trust of others.
• Charisma: The ability to motivate people.

As far as I can see, enthusiasm is your only true trait. I do not see you being a good representative.
Another thing that I should mention is that maturity comes with time, and in the adolescent years people grow in different ways. In a few years I can guarantee a change in attitude and motives, but things like this cannot be rushed. Right now, at this stage in your life, being a leader is not your calling. There is clearly a sense of impatience and thirst for power.
I would try focusing on things that truly define you. Gather the things that are good about your personality, and polish them instead of reaching for something that you are not. Don't brush off the weaknesses you have because all that does is push problems under the rug. As I said, change does not happen with the snap of a finger.
Play Minecraft the way it's suppose to be played, and have fun doing it. My vote is a -1 due to lack of leadership skills and reasons above.

So I remember this one well. I went to bat for him against a majority of sitting admins and Onis himself. Each and every time he would burn me, and be banned shortly after for the dumbest things. I never would have seen an application from him legitimately.

That is until I've also seen you grow up from a obnoxious kid to a very articulate and surprisingly compassionate young man. You've had a lot of hardships in your life and while they had certainly played a part in past actions, they have also lead you to take very interesting stances in many areas that I would not have expected from you.

+1 man. You've definitely earned it, despite having the inferior profile picture.

I'll start with the application. It was short, boring, and offered little to no insight as to who you are. The why section was 4 lines long. I don't think this is at any level good enough; in my eyes the staff application reflects on how the person is going to work. I mean, if one can't put a few hours into writing a quality staff application, why would they be able to handle a staff position?
You're an attention seeker. You have a tendency to steer global towards talking about yourself, and your life, and how cruel it is. Then, once global has moved onto another topic, you tend to steer it back at you.
And that brings me unto my next point, you seem to be an annoying "glass-half-empty" kind of person. It's like everything is a problem, the world is cruel, you're the unluckiest person in the world. I don't want you as a staff member if this is the kind of thing you contiously discuss in global.
On top of that, everyone here saying you're extremely helpful, I disagree. The only times I've ever seen you be helpful is when you're sucking up to the staff team. Which, sadly, is how you get a staff position on this server, but I dislike it.
I simply don't think you're suited to be a staff member; nor that you'd be able to handle it for very long. I also feel like you want helper for the title more than anything else.

Another point, small yes, but still a point, is your forums activity. It's been a general thing in the past for helper candidates preferably being atleast active member, preferably well-known.

All in all, it's a -1 from me, good luck though.

Are you saying you're not ready

 

I'm absolutely not intending to argue, but I'd like to offer a different point of view for this issue.

If a person shows up and you know he'll do good work for a month, does it hurt the team to let him in to do good work for that month? Would a denial be based simply on you can't have him longer?

 

This method of thinking has severely hurt the staff team in the past. Since when are there "too many" people doing modreqs, moderating chat, or working on projects.

Granted, I vary my timezone a lot, but the one constant I have is getting on every day about a half hour before towny time for economic reasons. For about the past 3 weeks+, it's one of two options. Either it's just myself, and there are open modreqs, or there's one other staff member. When someone is on, they are doing their job, but they should not feel like they have to stay on or the server will go unmoderated. Adding more versatile staff members such as Madison is a huge bonus to the staff team as a whole.

The concept of "too many staff" is hardly an issue now, nor has it ever been. Speaking from personal experiences, I frequently see high staff members being the ones moderating, and that isn't necessarily a bad thing, and it's in no way anyone else's fault, but time they spend moderating global is time not spent making improvements to the server. Being a team requires delegation, and helpers are a critical part of the team.


As for my own views of the application, it is one of the easiest decisions ever made. I cannot honestly think of a reason to be against this application in any way, and I truly do hope to see you as a member of the staff team in the near future.

I'm not bothered about your lover quarrel with Monkey but you and I were on good terms.

I was not aware until now that you went to a competing server and I am quite surprised you did. I would rather a dedicated member on the team instead of a scavenger that will leave us to join a rival and come back after ties have been broken.

I am not bothered if you get denied or accepted because I know you will put your best foot forward.

I'm not quite sure how to feel about this.
Pros:
-You'll be able to finish what you started, which would be incredibly and undeniably good for the server.
-A quicker integration into the staff team than most.
-Everyone likes you and sees an engrossing amount of potential.
Cons:

-This is an open statement in the application admitting that the skills that a tech/dev need are not up to par. I have no idea what skill level anyone needs to be in order to be an adequate Tech, but I've always seen coding as the number one thing to look for in anyone who is applying for a position like this. I believe there should be a chance to prove this, especially due to this quote having good intentions in mind, however there needs to be more depth in order for me to believe this is a good thing.
-I'm not 100% sure if this is true or not, but there have been some silly posts around the server such as the old "troll" helper application (http://meepcraft.com/threads/helper-application-from-xtpick44.58970/), and some concerns about things said in chat. While this thread was amusing, it makes me question the motives behind the wish to be a staff member in general.
-This comment is going to be personal, yet just as important.
When I joined Meepcraft and heard about the great and powerful reggles, I wanted to see him for myself. I'm not sure if it was the timing or what, but I've never seen reggles as a caring, motivated, or leader-like individual. I've never quite understood the appeal in his personality. He resigned on a bad note as far as I'm concerned, and there was a gap where he seemed to have no interest in Meepcraft. Reggles has always seemed like a man who would let his friends get away with whatever they wanted, and will do whatever it takes to make himself sit on the throne.
I've never seen the appeal in someone who has always been so self-centered. Perhaps it is the timing, perhaps I did something reggles finds undesirable and therefore this is my viewpoint, or perhaps I have not made a large enough attempt to understand the motives behind the great and mighty reggles. There have been times that I may have been in the wrong during sessions where I am communicating with reggles, and perhaps I, for one reason or another, am a complete idiot. This does not change, however, the uneasy and unwelcoming sensations that shiver down my spine when I encounter this man, and therefore I will give a -1 for the reasons stated above.
I would not be surprised in the slightest if this application were to be accepted, and I sincerely give you my best wishes in becoming a tech. I understand that there will be many who will not agree with my point of view. I only wish for reggles to be seen in other lights, because no one is an angel.

 

Finally! This doesn't even have to sit here in my opinion, as you are more than capable of doing the job and will be great at it again. Staff should just automatically accept this right now. +1
