When did you join Meepcraft? March / April 2013

    Introduction:
Hello! I think most people know me, or at least know of me, by now. However, I may seem unfamiliar to some. For that reason, please allow me to introduce myself.

My full in game name is BooBear1227, but most people call me Boo. My life has many different aspects which include hanging around Meep, being a computer science graduate / IT professional, and volunteering. I enjoy volunteering as a summer camp counselor and for the Ronald McDonald House charities. In a previous lifetime - before some concussions and bad joints - I was an active athlete participating in sports such as cheerleading, soccer, and volleyball. In my spare time, I enjoy indoor rock climbing, hiking, biking, and running. I also love the occasional book, movie, or podcast. ( I am always open to suggestions for new content! )

    Why should you be Helper?
    Meep Experience
I joined Meep at the age of sixteen back in mid-March 2013 after my brother’s friend recommended the server to us. My brother and I played on the same account for a couple of weeks until I got my own account on a rainy Tuesday. In my time on Meep, I have served as a town staff member in four different towns. I am grateful for each of the unique experiences and look back with fond memories. I am most proud of my dedication to Ezri and Dax between May 2013 and June 2016 because I stuck with the same small team for 3 long years to help build towns that would remain a legacy for many other players. At the release of Gamma, I lost my Towny mojo and took time off from Meep to focus on my education. Seven years later from my first day on Meep, I am twenty-three years old and still hanging around this place because this community changed my life. I have met so many life-long friends here that continue to amaze and inspire me to continue to grow to be a better person.

I returned to Meep about six weeks ago looking to rejoin the community. I was thrilled to be welcomed back with open arms. The town of Legion reached out to me when I came back, and I was ecstatic to join a town and help push it off the ground. Through my dedication and work ethic in helping with some random preparation tasks for the release of Extreme, I rose from a resident up to co-mayor. I now happily help run Legion on a day to day basis.

    Previous Staff Experience
In November 2013, I applied for Helper and had the amazing opportunity to serve as a staff member in different ranks with different responsibilities until January 2015. In May 2014, I was promoted from Mod to SuperMod because of my leadership and dedication to the team. I remained a SuperMod until November 2014 when I had been respectfully demoted back to Mod because of inactivity due to a health condition. Although I was disappointed about the demotion, I remained on the staff team to continue to provide the support that was needed at the time. I resigned from the team in January 2015 because of school, family, and medical issues. I then made a short return during the end of my senior year of high school after I resolved the school and family issues. I reapplied for Helper in March 2015 and remained on the team until I went away to summer camp in June 2015.

Although it was a rollercoaster, I enjoyed my time as a staff member. I met some of the most amazing people that I still call some of my best friends. Because of Meep Staff: I learned the difference between leadership styles, the importance of communication, collaboration of a team of more than 30 people, and being able to problem solve on the flip of a dime.

I want to continue to help make Meep a welcoming and safe place where people know they are welcome to come and escape the real world, even if it’s just to pop by for a few minutes to say hello and catch up with some old friends.

    Real Life Experiences
I am very passionate about education, the outdoors, and technology / programming. From a young age, I have been dedicated to being in service of others and serving the multitude of communities that surround me in life. The best vocation I could be offered is a combination of the three. The dream is to work with children and teach them about the beauty and life lessons nature has to offer while inspiring them to use technology to better advance the world - keeping in mind both positive and negative consequences.

My passion for education and the outdoors comes from my summers of being a summer camp counselor. In the summer of 2011, I became a counselor-in-training and have since dedicated parts of every summer to volunteering at resident summer camps. Last summer, my camp name was retired as a sign of appreciation and recognition for the immeasurable amount of time, energy, and hard work I put in to make camp a special place for many others. Because of camp, I learned how to work well with others even when personalities clash, how to work with children, good leadership skills, and creating fun and memorable experiences for different types of people at different ability levels.

My passions for education and technology/programming come from my technical training as a computer scientist / IT professional and my time as a computer science tutor for my university. As a tutor, I enjoyed helping students reach the “aha” moment in understanding a concept. I often had returning clients because of the level of support I was able to provide them from my knowledge of the courses and the general field. From my time as a tutor, I strengthened my patience and communication skills from explaining concepts in multiple ways until the student felt comfortable with the concept enough to not only pass the class but to understand the concept so they would be successful in the future.

Overall, my interpersonal, leadership, collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills will benefit the team and help guide my decisions.

    What are your weaknesses?
    Previous Staff Experience
Although having previous experience as staff can definitely help in this process, it can also hinder it because of my perception of the “way it was before.” A lot has changed since I was last a staff member, and it is why I have hesitated to post this application. I remember quite a bit of how it was previously, but the server and community has changed and evolved. The staff team expectations, rule guidelines, and structure has changed drastically since June 2015. To combat this weakness, I am trying to take time to re-learn the server, the new rules, and the new community. While I want to remember all from the past and continue that legacy, it is often best to live in the moment and to look forward to the future. I am taking this opportunity to look at this from a new perspective with a fresh pair of eyes.

    “Use it or lose it”
In the almost five year separation, I have lost most of the muscle memory commands and on the spot thinking when it comes to completing modreqs and answering questions quickly. In recent years, the team also added the moderation of a discord server, which is something that will be completely new to me. Due to my time away from the team, I would need to be retrained on new expectations and procedures. However, I am a very quick learner and I am sure that it would not take too long for muscle memory to kick in.

    Communication
I would say almost everyone struggles with communication during some point in their lives. I have learned that you are often not communicating enough until you feel you are overcommunicating. My personal weakness is with letting others know when I am struggling and / or need help with a situation before it becomes out of hand. My previous demotion from SuperMod came from a perceived lack of inactivity due to an error on my part to better communicate what I was struggling with in life. I am constantly working on this weakness by trying to reach out sooner rather than later when I need help, feel overwhelmed, or do not understand a concept.

Please give any other information you might think is useful for us to know: This application is something I have thought about for a few weeks now since rejoining the community about six weeks ago. While I have been encouraged by a few members in the community to re-apply, I took the time to really think over the decision because it impacts not only myself but others as well. I now personally feel ready to put this application up and to hopefully return to the staff team.

In addition, it has come up on a few other applications that it seems some people are just applying because of the copious amounts of spare time people now have due to the COVID-19 pandemic. I am not applying because I have copious amounts of spare time. I am currently still working from home, full time at 40+ hours per week. Meep is a place I am genuinely investing my free time into because of the relationships and enjoyment it has brought back into my life. I have received so much from this community and want to be able to give back as much as I can to the place that feels like another home.

Last, but certainly not least, thank you for spending the time to read my Helper application. I look forward to reading your feedback. I welcome any constructive criticism so that I may continue to work on myself.

When did you join Meepcraft? Can't remember

Introduction: I'm Deinen, long time player, and occasional staff member. I have a wife and kids and my life mostly consists of working, and being at home. I began playing right before MeepNetworks was founded, and have been hanging around ever since.

Why should you be Helper? I believe I could be a valuable addition to the team because of the possession of a vast amount of staffing experience in all ranks, even some that no longer exist. I have a firm belief that the player is a customer, and to that extent, deserve being treated with the utmost respect as well as deserving of any assistance they need in order to fully enjoy the game that MeepCraft provides.

When I was growing up an only child, I had some rough spots and some lonely times in my life; however, I've always had the benefit of being able to enjoy online gaming from it's very early stages. I know, from experience, that some of the people I met as a child changed my life fundamentally, and shaped me as the person I am today. I believe that MeepCraft, and it's moderation staff plays that very role today. I have met kids that have been impacted by staff and people on this server beneficially, and I have no doubt that they will carry that experience on with them throughout life; that is what my draw is to staffing. If MeepCraft, and it's staff, is able to create an experience which some kid which looks fondly back on 20 years from now then that is the highlight of my experience here.

Some might argue that my activity, or lack thereof, is a disadvantage. I would disagree and argue that having a staff member who exists in the server to primarily staff, and secondarily play will provide the server benefits such as a more neutral viewpoint. It also provides a staff member who is more resistant of changes of the game, and solely looks for options to better the experience for the players, or to help them further enjoy the game. That being said, I don't reject the notion of playing within towny, but more that I truly enjoy helping staff and shaping the server than playing the game. All in all, the vast contributions that I've made to this server that persist today makes evident what I plan on doing again, solve problems and try to make the experience better for the player.

Additionally, I am the type of person that truly tries to make time for anyone with any issue they need. Meaning on the game, on forums, or even in skype I always reply to people, and I always take time to have a conservation. My skype is littered with hundreds of people who I have done just this with. Also I believe in rehabilitation, and I always try to work with players that have troubles to try to get things back in order for them to come back. Sometimes this works out, for example Draqq, and other times not, but I always try.

Regarding my previous resignation - I had began new work, and I did not have sufficient time to put into the server, nor the sufficient motivation to the work required of admin. I felt that if I wasn't willing to do what is required, I should not be in that position, and staying would have hindered everyone else around me, and provided no real benefits.

What are your weaknesses? I'm blunt and I am not afraid to speak my opinion. If I believe in something, I tend to fight tooth and nail for what I believe in.

Please give any other information you might think is useful for us to know: My skype is Deinen; feel free to contact me with any questions, concerns, or comments.

    Introduction:

For those who don't know me, my name is Kazarkas and I have been playing on this server for over two years. I have been with this server through its ups and downs and it has grown on me because of one thing, that being the community. Now I will get into a more personal introduction.

My real name outside of Minecraft is Dan (insert a long last name here). I am twenty years old and I like to lift weights, row occasionally, hang out with friends, and play video games when I get the chance. I am attending pharmacy school in West Palm Beach, Florida, this coming Fall (you can do your research and you will find out what school I go to). As for my personality, I am sarcastic, and pretty laid back. I wouldn't say I get stressed out at anything besides League of Legends but I don't play that game anymore. Now let's get to the rest of the application.

    Why you should be Helper?

I will admit that the permissions associated with the Helper rank do not match my skill set and without further ado.....

In my opinion just playing Meepcraft has become a little stale, I seek more from the server. I have been a staff member numerous times in the past and have been "Reverend" for all of those who remember it. It wasn't an official rank but I still did some basic things like bans, modreqs, etc.. In short, I miss being on the inside and it gave me something to do on the server.

My prior ranks as staff were Moderator and PRR, I never went for SuperMod (I was SuperMod for a short time because I was changed to that rank by Coolkid on a whim) because I didn't crave creative mode as I was OP'd anyway for certain duties. As moderator I was proud of my xray hunting abilities, effectively keeping xrayers out of the wild while I was online. In addition to xray hunting I was extremely good at finding item dupers, and I plan on expanding my expertise to PvP hackers as that is currently a huge problem at this time.

Now onto my time as PRR (the highest rank at the current era), as PRR I had the responsibility of managing forums with admin control panned, this included forum bans, etc.. I also was the only person that managed donations for a little over a week while Meepcraft's donation system was down for some odd reason. I do remember changing the ranks of Sjoe and AndrewDemonX in the past for some reason so they can validate this information if anyone questions it. I was an admin in a nutshell.

Forum activity: My forum activity is great. I always check the forums and it pains me not to post on some ban appeals and reports. I am quick to reply to people that have problems and I record evidence of all bans and kicks (I still have evidence on some bans in 2013 on my 1TB removable HDD).

I understand we are in a different era, that being one where we give more second chances and we need more players. As a result, I will fight my compulsive banning when it comes to xray and duping (if I find any) and set them to temp bans as they should.

    Weaknesses:

In the past I overlooked some of my friends cheating because they were staff. I admit this is a huge weakness and it was unacceptable. It was just very hard for me to do anything because I have known this person for two years and I couldn't let the information go public. I just asked him to stop but he wouldn't (he got demoted though).

I will also say that I am extremely sarcastic in ban appeals, especially if people seem to be rude, or act incompetent intentionally (effectively "playing dumb"). If the person writes a respectable appeal I will respond with the same respect.

    Conclusion:

If you want a staff member with a lot of prior experience and some new ideas, I am your guy. I plan on giving upper staff some suggestion on things that will make the server better, and perhaps even talk to Onis personally.

    Any feedback would be appreciated.

When did you join Meepcraft? January 2014

Introduction: I’m Mike. You might recognize me as Michael, “that weird nerdy guy,” or “the dude who got demoted twice for bad stuff.” Or, you may have interacted with one of my many alts, in which case I hope you had a positive experience.

Besides MeepCraft, in my free time, I enjoy various activities, among them teaching, reading, playing the piano, biking, and (as Queentiitan can attest to), failing to quench my insatiable desire for basketball (though I'm still not that good). As mentioned in my previous applications, this is my third consecutive summer teaching math to high-schoolers without the resources to get help or tutoring. Additionally, I had the opportunity to join a church service trip to serve homeless individuals for a week, which was a truly eye-opening experience. While it may seem as if these activities are contained in my memory, I seek to apply the knowledge and skills I acquired to my actions in other areas of life, in this case MeepCraft. If you're really interested in stalking my personal life, please get therapy (or look at my other applications, but don't stalk me too hard).

Why should you be Helper? As mentioned above, I have a somewhat extensive teaching background, as I've taught math to high-schoolers for three years, and I've taught piano to younger children for two years. My experience teaching youth of various ages (from eight to 18), leads me to feel I'd be at home as a helper, since I already have dealt with numerous youth and children in the past. Additionally, as a helper, my job would be primarily to answer questions and to encourage players to learn more about the server. Oftentimes, one might think that helpers (or teachers) should “teach” people material—after all, we are called “teachers,” right? However, as I've matured, I've learned that it's actually best to encourage individuals to learn on their own—to plant the seed of curiosity, if you'll forgive the cliché, that drives and motivates us to give back to the community. Basically, (long story short, TL;DR, or whatever floats your boat), I will encourage people to contribute to the community.

Similarly, I maintain positive interactions with community members. I've found that I can get along with (or at least tolerate) most everyone, a quality no doubt shaped by the multitude of interactions I've had with individuals outside Meep. During my last two runs as helper, I became very comfortable with the playerbase, a trait that eventually led to my demotions—as I was caught swearing and leaking confidential information, respectively. However, I've learned from these demotions, and am now able to retain a positive relationship with players whilst retaining my professionalism. As a staff member, I will seek to bridge the growing gap between staff and players, which is a major problem plaguing MeepCraft today.

I’ve been demoted twice: my first demotion was a culmination of language and small issues that built up over time, and the second demotion was leaking confidential information to a community member. Through these demotions, I've learned to maintain my professionalism while being friendly in my interactions with the community. Additionally, I’ve matured significantly in the 9 months since my last run as staff, and feel that I'm better suited for a staff role than I was. Specifically, I've learned, mostly through another year of teaching, how to be an authority figure to peers while being relatable to them.

Additionally, throughout both of my runs as staff, I've learned to work with individuals I don't necessarily see eye-to-eye with. While I might not necessarily agree with the other individual, I’m able to see their perspective, and usually resolve issues effectively.

On a more technical note, I have expertise banning the PvP hackers who inhabit nearly every Minecraft server. As a former hacker myself, I know which red flags to look for, and can therefore resolve issues quickly and efficiently. Similarly, I already am trained in prism, and therefore can contribute to the staff team immediately.

What are your weaknesses? Most mornings, I wake up, look in the mirror, and tell myself I'm perfect. Alas, I, like every human (despite what you might think, I too am human) have weaknesses too.

Oftentimes, I can be too blunt. While this may manifest itself as a positive quality fairly often, I sometimes lack tact in my rhetoric, which occasionally causes discussions to escalate. In other words, I can be well-intentioned troll, if such a thing exists. Similarly, oftentimes I'm overly harsh, which leads to similar results. However, I've been working to lessen the amount of confrontations I cause, and I’d like to say it's been pretty successful (though I'll let you judge for yourself).

Additionally, I tend to have a hard time letting debates go. I'll frequently ramble on long after everyone else has tired of a given discussion. While I'm working on this issue in real life, its hard to convey tone and drop hints via text, which can lead to some friction between me and team members. Nevertheless, it's something I will continue to work on.

TS activity—I don't really like TS, honestly. I can do interviews and meetings, and moderate as needed, but it's not (and will never be) an aspect of MeepCraft I'll use frequently.

Please give any other information you might think is useful for us to know: I don't have access to Eggwall01 and swimchezney anymore.

When did you join Meepcraft? 2012 re joined 2014

    Introduction: G'day Meep!

Most of you know me by Kieran or Kling. I Enjoy my days working, training, talking with friends and playing Meepcraft.

Last year I worked as a laborer and was an allrounder at a woodfire pizza store in Australia. Although they both payed under wage I enjoyed them because I knew with the amount I was getting I could get to England.

My biggest personal achievement in the past year is coaching an u10 football/soccer team. With that I helped the players improve at the sport and helped them with troubles they had.

Why should you be Helper? With my experience as a moderator I believe I will be a valuable member within the staff team, I am online at the highs and lows of Meep.

The community - My largest reason for becoming a staff member is so I can do mod requests, I remember so many like my first theft case where someone stole from Zigga90. After that Zigga and I became good friends I would help him with his house and town. Puppies2406 lost her horse in towny so I decided I would travel with her in hopes to find Pudding. We were unable to find Pudding so we held a memorial and I bought a horse at her ranch called Amber. A poor poor restaurant owner not having any visitors to buy their delicious food so I gathered the online staff members to join me in a meal when they were available in which we all enjoyed.
I love engaging with the community, welcoming players to the server and gathering players of all ranks together to do things like fishing, drop parties or even make noob houses in the wild!

Helping - Throughout my life I have helped a lot of people with things for example: relationships, work, life threatening situations and helping strangers. Whether it is helping a woman carry her groceries across the field while I was training or helping an elderly person cover their furniture outside before the rain would come. I also helped staff members while I was a moderator with commands, modreqs and suggestions. Even after I was released of my position I helped a couple staff members with questions and commands.
On Meep I help players with questions, their town/creative, commands and being their for someone to talk to on Teamspeak. My assistance does not stop there as for I have helped a few players with things outside of the game.

Unbiased/tolerance - I am not bothered whether you have 0 or 60 bans, not donating or donating, new player or old player. My personal opinion does not interact with your ban. My tolerance for people is quite high, I remember when I had my favorite troublesome duo come on Teamspeak after I banned them and complained. I took them into a private channel so I could discuss with them why they are banned but all I got was swearing and yelling. I stayed calm and collected the entire time as they relieved their anger and left.

Customer concerned - This is something I have come to understand recently with work and I also had a highly respected player mention on forums for me to work on my customer skills. With my new job I work face to face with a few hundred people, learning and remembering names can be tricky but when it comes down to it us staff members need to focus that the people are happy much like my clients at work.

What are your weaknesses? Blunt/honesty - I tend speak my mind and am straight to the point, I may not waste a lot of extra characters but it can lead to the wrong idea. Honesty mixing in with blunt, it can be harsh but I have been working on both so hopefully it will not affect me in the future.

Please give any other information you might think is useful for us to know: If you lift a kangaroo’s tail off the ground it can’t hop.

Thank you for reading my application, if you would like to know me more join Teamspeak.

When did you join Meepcraft? Aug 29, 2013

Introduction: Hello! As my forum name states, I’m Alexia. I’ve been playing Meepcraft for over two and a half years now. I’ve been staff twice and my entire time here has made me extremely happy.

Outside of Meep, I have several hobbies. I recently quit, but I used to do a lot of Scottish Dance with over seven years of experience, a lot of that with children. I’m working on being able to do competitive horse jumping, and I’m learning Pekiti which is a Filipino martial art. I enjoy drawing in both traditional and digital mediums and I’m working on a giant Pokemon embroidery. I don’t tend to watch lots of TV or movies, but I’m watching more Anime and I absolutely love The Walking Dead. My favorites games include Minecraft, Skyrim, and The Last of us.

Why should you be Helper? -Experience
I have just under a half a year in experience as a staff member, and even though it’s been a year since I was last staff, the knowledge I gained from being a helper never left. I know all the ins and outs of prism, I know how to use it effectively, and I know when to apply it to get the job done. Previously, as a staff member, I showed an affinity for modreqs. I’m confident that in my third term as a staff member, I could further improve my work ethic and quality through the use of a positive attitude and strong leadership ability. I am aware that I showed an extremely negative aura during my previous two terms. Fortunately, I intend to learn from my previous mistakes and use these mistakes to make myself a stronger link in the staff team and an overall better person. I believe that a staff member who displays astounding leadership qualities, positive attitude, and efficiency would benefit any staff team. I believe I exhibit all of these qualities.

    -Attitude
I’ve been playing Meepcraft for about two and a half years. That’s a long time. I keep up with this server and I look forward to talking to the people here every day. Meep is one of the best things that’s happened to me in my teenage life and has made me grow as a person. I understand some people’s distaste with me and I agree with those people. I have been improving greatly on my bad attitude and toxicity since the beginning of the year and I am ready for a third shot at the staff position.

Another thing I’d like to note here is that I can be remarkably unbiased in a professional setting. I am not afraid to admit that I dislike certain people on the server, but I will never let these feelings get in the way of my job. I am willing to issue a challenge to the current staff team, if I am caught being biased in anyway against any person, strip me from my rank.

    -Worth Ethic and Activity
Usually, I am a laid back type of person, I find it very hard to start on something that takes a lot of time. However, once I’m passionate about something, I can never stop, momentum keeps building and I never lose focus. I’m also a great multitasker - I can message many people at a time while doing modreqs. Also, I managed to teach Adlovesdogs and Cyber_Punk how to use prism during my second term of staff, all while maintaining a 30 modreq daily average. For my previous work as a helper, I’ve been accoladed by many respected staff members, such as Onis, Cooleysworld, and even Sjoepappentrap who said “You always worked your [butt] off.”

Meepcrafters might like be because I am extremely accessible. Besides in the game itself, I am available widely on Kik, Skype, the forums, and Teamspeak. Because of this, I am always open to suggestion, whether it comes from the players themselves or other members of the team. I believe staying accessible is very important between the community and the staff members, especially in the most recent times..

I understand that I am not a big talker on Teamspeak but that’s simply because I don’t like being in a room with lots of people and a prefer listening to music or just sitting in silence. However, I am more than happy to talk at any time, just send a poke or a PM my way!

On top of being consistently active in general, I can also be active on any timezone that’s necessary. I have a very loose schedule, being homeschooled grants me with a plethora of free time, and I don't mind in the slightest spending this free time working on Meep. This, coupled with my very strange sleeping schedule, makes it easy for me to moderate on the wee hours of the night or in the late morning. It all depends on where I am most needed.

What are your weaknesses? My largest two weaknesses are my past and my attitude. My past is quite possible the worst on meepcraft content-wise. I sent bad pictures to people, I blackmailed one person, and I was extremely toxic for a long time. Part of my bad attitude continues to pop up now and again but I am continuing to try my hardest to keep it on the down-low and to me the bigger person when I have to be. I keep the maturity level as high as possible but yes I do slip up a lot. I request that you be patient with me as I continue to work on these!

I was denied last time I applied which was on March first. It’s been almost 3 weeks since my official denial and I very much believe that I have kept my head up high and am qualified for the job. I was told I was denied due to attitude issues and I have kept my attitude in check and refrained from saying things that are rude and bad and tried to re-word things that sounded not so good.

Please give any other information you might think is useful for us to know: I used a lot of my last app with a few changes. This is simply because of the fact that this application is my best and I cannot see a way for me to make better. I have changed several things and added some new and more relevant information. Thank you!

When did you join Meepcraft? First in September 2015, but for real in December 2015

Introduction: Greetings and salutations! As you can tell, I am CluelessKlutz, or kcschmidt here on the forums. I typically go by KC, Ck, Clue, or Clueless; it really doesn't matter to me. I "joined" the server in September 2015, but only played a few rounds of Boomo and left, never exploring Towny or paying attention to global, even (like so many new players that I now try to talk to).

I have been playing Minecraft as a whole since January 2nd, 2013. Bear in mind, I was quite uncomfortable with the idea of multiplayer. As a result of this, I played alone for years, until late May 2015. About that time, I was attending a weekly class with several other Minecrafters(though the class had nothing to do with Minecraft!), one of whom gave me an IP to a server she played on. So I entered it in, and started messing around with multiplayer. After playing survival for my first few weeks, I decided to check out another gamemode on this server: Factions.

As much as I'd love to say I totally dominated right off the bat and came here looking for a challenge, that'd be a complete lie. For the first 4 months, I got blown up at least once a week. The turning point was when I befriended the majority of the top players, and eventually became a part of them. By December, my own faction controlled just about everything, so while they maintained out superiority, I went to look for a new Factions server to train on. Even today, I still speak regularly with my former faction
Somehow, some way, I ended up practicing PvP a lot by playing CTF. Eventually, I started to pay attention to global a little more, and saw something about a "PvP adventure!" When I entered this, I was warped to Dungeon. There, I fell in love with the server as a whole. The way Dungeon was thrilling and challenging in a way that was so appealing to my warmonger nature from Factions. Going to Alpha, I joined a town (that I now know was owned by Cooey at the time!) so I could store all my loot. When the entire plot became filled with chests, I decided to check out "this other Towny world." Upon entering Beta, I received an invitation and joined the first one I got, Dreamcraft.

If it had not been for Devilspawn112 , things would be very different for me then where I am today. After quite a few interactions with both her and Dem0gorgon , they offered me a position as an Assistant; I declined, saying I wished to learn the Towny commands first. You would not believe how long it later took me to figure out /t add, because I was used to /f invite. A few weeks passed, and, deciding to accept, was promoted to Dreamcraft Town Assistant in the last few days of 2015. Thanks to this position, I work with most Towny commands daily.

As for me personally, outside of Minecraft, there is not near as much of a story, nor one as interesting. Currently living in the same area I was born in, Kansas City, Missouri, it is a very temperate climate. It can be 91 degrees Fahrenheit one day, and 42 the next! A few of you may know my younger brother, MasterofBoom, but other than that, the rest of my family do not even play Meep, much less Minecraft, whatsoever. For those who do know Boom, you know he has a rather . . . explosive personality. Being five years apart, we have very different interests, as he rarely logs onto Meep for a community aspect.

One little thing about myself, is I am "technically" disabled physically. By this, I mean it is covered by the Disability Act, but is not obvious from first glance. See, I am not bound to a wheelchair or a walker, as you would often assume when I use the term "handicapped." Instead, I suffer from peanut and tree nut anaphylaxis, which is the most extreme form of food allergies. Due to the severity of it, I cannot even breathe the same air as a PB&J without going into anaphylactic shock (stop breathing, hives, etc.). As of now, this is something I will never grow out of, as sensitivity levels have actually increased over the years. As bad as mine sounds, I know others have it far, far worse than myself. This disability certainly restricts my physical life, which is one reason I have plenty of time to invest in gaming. In one way, this condition has helped me, because when every day has that chance of being your last if you are exposed to the proteins you are allergic to, it really makes you step back and look at the big picture. Dropping a phone, being 2 minutes late to something, accidentally putting an extra 0 when using vshop, and stuff like that isn't worth worrying about.

My hobbies (besides Minecraft) include reading a nice, long book, researching history (specifically, World War II), leading my own clan in Clash of Clans, and many various activities at my church, where I am on the media team, planning committee, and communications team. I could go on and on for days like this, as I can be very long-winded when typing, but I tend to be much more on the quiet and reserved side, especially when it comes to speaking.

Why should you be Helper? Unlike so many of the recent applications, I don't have this huge history as a staff member. I haven't been here for years. Terms like "Meep Networks," "CG," etc. are as real to me as D-Day, where you can read all about it, talk to a person who lived through it, or see traces of it, but they're just things of the past, that you will never experience. With that in mind, I also bring a very different perspective than the majority of players here. For me, the Helper rank is not a goal, but a tool. How you use that tool is dependent on only yourself. My only intention is to give back, in any way possible, to a community that has truly changed who I am, how I think, and how I view the Internet as a whole.

As many people can attest, I spend a good deal of time in Tutorial. In all honesty, it is the least popular world, but one of the most important. Through my work there, I have seen so many different things. Officially, this job is supposed to fall to Helpers and Mods, but usually this doesn't happen, which I completely get. For the most part, official staff are busy, and don't have the time to warp every time some random person joins. Even with having no life whatsoever, it's next to impossible to warp every time. A lot of times, a new player will join, and leave before most people can finish typing "Welcome!" My goal in warping there is to point as many players as I can to the various aspects of the server, namely Towny, and guide them in their own journey. As a result, familiarity with every major aspect of the server and its commands are just part of the job. The other thing this ongoing project has improved myself in is the ability to interact with players who honestly have no idea what they're doing. Thanks to the Internet, and the opportunities presented, I have spoken to new players in English, Español, French, and even Dutch (If only Google Translate was more accurate).

One thing I particularly specialize in is troubleshooting issues, whether they be Redstone, commands, client-side issues, or computer errors. Anyone can answer questions in Global, so I believe it is worth the time to actually teleport to anyone asking for aid, and seeing what I can possibly do. Thanks to my years of experience with the game's systems and mechanics, as well as server knowledge, it makes me ideal for this. Those who have seen my own personal house in Dreamcraft know I am an avid Redstone engineer, always tinkering with something or other (kinda like my house itself, where it's never truly done, only in between projects!). This skill, which is asked about a lot in Global, seems to be relatively unknown to quite a few of the people who'd normally be right there with them, solving these problems. In my own life, I am the manager of all of my home's technology (Not even kidding, I have the Wifi password memorized, but not a single phone number), which has entailed faulty external hard drives, extreme connection errors, repairing printers, and just serving as the resident geek of the house.

Thankfully for everyone here, none of you know what I look like. I definitely fit the definition of the term, "nerd," as shown more so by mental ability. Firstly, is the ability to strategize. I adore strategic games, whether it be Pokemon Conquest, chess, Feudal, Stratego, Battleship, or basically anything of that nature; I love the planning put in. As a result of this enjoyment, I tend to think things out, often running several logic tests to try and calculate what could happen based on my action. So, if simplified, I think before I act, very rarely acting carelessly outside of direct combat. While I definitely take more time than the average person in most things, I do think of things to say very quickly, but always take the time to run through it mentally several times before saying anything. Doing this enough has speed me up a good deal, though, meaning I respond to almost all situations swiftly, yet maturely.

Of course, all of the things I have mentioned thus far can easily be done without the Helper tag, and they come very naturally to me. Mainly, I wish to "help" out more than I already am, by having the ability to take on modreqs, handling hackers in varied areas of the server, and working on various Trello projects, all of which are things one cannot do as a community member, though I have been privileged enough to work with Lady_Hestia on several Trello projects, already. In doing this, it really has helped me to understand just how much work is put in to complete what seems to be very simple projects. Despite it being "work," it's something I enjoy, and look forward to doing more of in the future.

Essentially, my goal is to improve anything, in whatever way I can. There's a lot I have been able to do unofficially, and certainly better prepares me for an official position. One misconception I never want to give anyone is the idea, "He helps in Global so people will +1 an app." Unfortunately, it is so hard to read people over the Internet, where a single sentence can be interpreted in a multitude of ways, as with the intentions behind it. The work I have already done doesn't automatically make me a staff member, but are just some of the skills needed for the job. My personality isn't the kind to "rage quit," and I fully intend to keep doing as much as I possibly can, whether this is accepted or not.

It all boils down to something else, as anyone can say anything about themselves, but it is their actions that tell you where their heart is. In studying history, you see the darkest of villains, and the greatest of heroes. One of the latter group that I have studied immensely is American General George S. Patton Jr., who believed in sleeping in the same tents as any soldier did. Even though he was, by definition, the commander of that particular army, he always was willing to do anything he asked of others. This is a principle I long to reflect in my own life. In short, I want to be real, meaning what I say, being honestly happy to serve others, and, as the band Switchfoot puts it in their song by the same name, "Live it Well."

What are your weaknesses? In all seriousness, this section of applications has been on my mind for months, and I've been using it to better myself not only in-game, but in my life outside of pixels and firewalls, as well. I truly am glad this section exists, because it has made me a better person overall, even without serving its intended purpose.

    -Teamspeak
It has been a struggle to even get as far as I am with this program. For the first five months I was truly active, I was horrified of the idea of anyone hearing my own voice. I tend to be very quiet and reserved when it comes to my voice, and would rather be reading words and typing back. I'll openly admit, it didn't sit well with me, and never did I think it would already be on my computer. After that, I began pondering it a little more, and realized I didn't even have a mic! Another few weeks passed like this, and I decided to try an old headset I owned for my work, but the computer had not ever recognized it as a mic, but as mere headphones. However, when I tried it one night while figuring out TS's systems, it did indeed work.

Even after all that, it's still not my strong suit, and due to my home environment, activity on it will always be limited greatly. I can certainly try to be more active with this program, but the way I saw it previously still lingers.

    -Inexperience
As I stated before, I have never served on the staff team, and am clueless (literally) about many of the systems staff use in their daily work. I would require instruction from the ground up in usage of Prism, modreq's, spotting true hackers (which I have moderate experience in already), and knowledge of the perms each rank grants. Obviously, the only way to get experience is by doing, but I did wish to mention this, because I couldn't just jump in on modreq's right away.

    -Stubborn
Quite literally, stubbornness runs through my veins, as every single member of my family for the past 3 generations (though it probably extends further back) has been stubborn, to different degrees. Whenever you tell my brother, "You're so stubborn!" he simply nods his head, exclaiming, "Yep!" I cannot honestly judge my own degree, but I definitely can be very stubborn. However, on the other hand, I also adore hearing opinions that differ from my own, as I can usually take bits and pieces from their opinion, and therefore make mine better.

    -Introverted
As a part of my "calm, cool, and collected" personality, I can be very self-centered in the fact I'm not always as outgoing as I could be. This doesn't mean to say I only care about myself, or this would not be a position for me. As I said before, I see Helper (or staff in general) as a tool, but, more precisely, a tool to serve others. This has been something that's been on my mind for the last few months to work on, but who am I to honestly judge how this is going?

Please give any other information you might think is useful for us to know: ertainly, it has been a journey. I have been fortunate enough to have had so many people by my side, setting the path before me. If you managed to get through all of this, major congratulations for that level of persistence. Feel like talking with me one-on-one? Msg me any time in-game or here on the forums, I love to talk without using my voice. Finally, thank you, thank you for reading, for compliments, for criticism, and for basically everything.

When did you join Meepcraft? February 2014

Introduction: I had been on the road for 24 days. I put my fate in the hands of Americas’ backroads to experience a journey I sorely longed for, and one I would never forget. From swimming at midnight in an eerily fog covered forest to dancing while stranded in the volatile desert heat; every new day brought an uncertain adventure awaiting me, and I was always sure not to keep it waiting for too long.

In May I graduated from University; it was a huge milestone in my life. This also created a transition for me, I was moving from a college student to a full adult. For most people this is an easy transition, they just spent 4 years of college laying out the plan for their future so they know what to accomplish next. It wasn’t so easy for me, however, for weeks leading up to my graduation I was unsure of the direction I wanted in life. I was set and groomed for the corporate world, with my BBA I had primary concentrations in Accounting and Human Resources with a secondary concentration in Finance. Everything in my life had revolved around the business world, but my soul was always longing for the freedom to wander. I wanted to experience a life on the road, travelling from town to town meeting anyone that would care to listen or speak.

My uncertainty led to an ultimatum: I would try my best at getting full-time employment, but if that failed then I would travel. This all culminated in my recent resignation, after I had a poor job interview I decided that I would ‘hit the road’ and go wherever fate would take me. I contacted my best friend and told him my plan, he was immediately up for it and we decided that nothing would stop us from an adventure. Using a little over $2,000 we had saved up we prepared and set out on our journey: together we had a tent, 2 sleeping bags, a grill, a few pounds of rice, 7 gallons of water, 8 various knives, and an old Chevy S10.

We travelled over 3,000 miles crossing 10 states, we spent the nights camping and the daytime driving through America’s backroads, usually unsure of our next destination. With nobody to rely on but myself and no governed rules to follow while alone in the middle of the wilderness, I had felt such a profound sense of freedom that I never felt before. Even when the conditions seemed desolate and bleak it was exhilarating to be facing challenges and overcoming obstacles.

My favorite memory arose from our most bleak situation: In southern Utah, our truck gave away to the 110F heat and the mileage it had accumulated over 3 weeks. We suddenly were stranded in the middle of the harshest environment we experienced; 60 miles away from the closest town and 24 away from the nearest campsite, we loaded up only what we could carry we set out in the blazing sun towards camp. During the walk I was worried about how we would make it through the situation, everything seemed hopeless and the heat only intensified my paranoia. I was trying to figure out a plan when suddenly I hear music behind me, my friend was playing the Beatles’ Abbey Road album and he started dancing to it. I watched him baffled for a few seconds as he nonchalantly danced down the road, then I decided I may as well join in too. For the next 3 hours we danced down the entire road playing the Beatles, we probably looked like maniacs if anyone was around to see it. But in that moment I realized that life doesn’t need so much worry, even when all seems hopeless you can choose to enjoy the moment for what it’s worth. I was happy, I wanted to see what the world would throw at me and I finally experienced it.

Sorry for the long intro, trust me this was the shortest I could get it lol. I just hope anyone that read it learned a little about me :)

Why should you be Helper? Many people probably know how highly I praise the Helper position. It’s a position that I spent a lot of time in during my last two runs at staff and it’s a position that I feel very comfortable with. The Helper role is a great learning ground for newcomers while also still being as effective as the Moderator role for experienced staff. It’s a very manageable rank, and I have the qualities needed to perform exceedingly well in that position.

Experience: First and foremost my best quality for Helper is the experience I have. I previously spent 3 months as Helper in my last time as staff, and it wasn’t because I lacked the qualities for promotion, but because I wanted to learn the rank 100% to see how far it extended. I would make test scenarios in my abandoned town so I could master prism commands. I would collaborate with Admins or Supermods to individually go through the piles of forums bugs/suggestions. I explored and handled forums very well, knowing what was within my scope of power and always getting permission before venturing beyond that. I also performed well at modreqs, ensuring that it was pleasant and fun for the players while still being professional; I also know the proper ways to administer punishments for infractions when needed.

During my 5 months as Supermod, I got a good insight on how other people perform the Helper duties, along with seeing what High Staff strives for them to achieve. This insight gave me a lot of feedback on how I personally performed, it even helped me see things I was doing incorrectly which I could promptly fix. Finally, I spent many months as the sole trainer on the staff team, I’ve trained more than a dozen people during my time as Supermod. I’ve repeated my same 3-hour process on ‘how to be a helper’ soooo many times that I doubt I could ever forget a single thing lmao. I’m positive that I can excel better in this position now that I ever have because of my extensive experience.

Professionalism: Thanks to my business background I know how to act in a collected professional manner at all times, I’ve gained many skills that can be valuable to a Helper. I’m unhurried and deliberate, this ensures that I get my point across without sending the wrong tones through text. I ensure accuracy in every case when I have a modreq/ban report and I will check the proof 2 or 3 times to make sure I haven’t made any mistakes or errors. When solving problems I am thorough and concise, I’m able to provide timely and realistic solutions.

Team player: I strive in a team setting. I know how to work well with others, and I do well at encouraging others to always try their best. I love to promote success and achievements for people. I’m good at listening to others state their ideas and suggestions, and do well at articulating my own thoughts. I connect with the team as a whole through the constant use of staff chats, and individually through private messages. I put trust in my teammates and I’m confident that they do the same.

What are your weaknesses? I definitely have a few weaknesses. At the age of 96 my great-grandfather once told me “We can’t always make the world a better place, but we can always make ourselves into a better man. Today we need to do something that will make us better for tomorrow”. I was only 7 at the time, but now it amazes me that even at his age he knew he had something to improve upon. I promise to work on my weaknesses, and in the process, I promise to uncover other ways to improve myself.

I may be seen as aggressive or intimidating over text.

It’s often hard to discuss important matters over text without sending the wrong tones, it’s a problem that I have noticed from myself. To correct this I need to think before I speak and think of how my messages will be received, when it’s a very serious discussion I will even read it out loud to make sure it doesn’t sound aggressive or intimidating.

I may seem tough-minded and directive.

I take a firm stance to one side in some discussions, sometimes my stance may be seen as too firm and I appear as tough-minded. To correct this I need to practice better communication skills by encouraging people to express their ideas thoroughly and using multiple sources for my input.

I may seem overly talkative and superfluous.

Sometimes I say more than I should say, which leads me to be overly talkative. To correct this I need to consider how much information is needed to communicate across the board, and I need to encourage others to contribute and influence outcomes.

I may seem to over analyze situations or be too cautious.

When doing a project I may over-think the project and make the task more arduous than necessary, to be overly safe. To correct this I need to recognize the pace of my teammates and manage our differences effectively, and I need to know when enough has been contributed to move on to the next step.

Please give any other information you might think is useful for us to know: I want to help make Meepcraft great again.

When did you join Meepcraft? Around February 2014

Introduction: For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Courtney. I am twenty-one years old and I have a wonderful full-time job at the most magical place on Earth, Walt Disney World! Working at Disney has taught me so much responsibility not only for myself but for keeping my guests safe at all times. Working for Disney I tend to deal with some nasty guests everyday so I’ve developed such a calm demeanor about myself to listen to what is wrong and how may I help make their vacation better. I have also developed patience something I never had before Disney. My job title is Main Street Daily Operations which means I do the parades and I work in the Town Square Theater where you meet Mickey Mouse and Tinker Bell. I can also drive the train around the Magic Kingdom but I am still kind of too scared to do that just yet. I absolutely adore working for Mickey Mouse he’s the best I couldn’t have made a better life choice a year ago to better myself emotionally and physically. I live in Orlando, Florida and I just happened to purchase my first car all by myself a few weeks ago, adulting, pretty sure that’s a verb now. I live such a basic life now and I am so happy with it. I go to work (which never feels like work) and I get to look at Cinderella’s Castle all day long. Okay I don’t really stare well maybe sometimes but don’t tell. I live with two other people they are amazing and so supportive. My male roommate is British and we watch football/soccer pretty much every chance we get. He is a Manchester United fan and I just watch it because I think that it is fascinating. My female roommate works for a pediatrician and is gone most of the time she hates to cook so I usually cook when I have the chance which is fine I love to cook. My life is so laid back and has changed so much within this past year I could write a book of everything I have accomplished. I’ll go into depth in my why section for you to understand me better but I do urge you to read it and comprehend my why section and don’t just skim over it.

Why should you be Helper? Let me start by saying this is my third helper app, but not consecutively, now don’t let me scare you off just yet. I’m going to back up a few applications to my very first helper app, so I was asked to apply by bbycakes (we were bffs). She got me onto this server and I instantly fell in love. She actually happened to be the one who did my interview too it was nice. Later on down the road I applied for Mod it got accepted for interview but life got in the way and I resigned with it still in interview, that’s why it’s in the denied section. A month later I apply again for helper and I literally had my interview the exact same day and got accepted all that wonderful stuff. So a few months later Sjoe told me to apply for Mod so I did and we had Mod interviews that same day too. That interview was the easiest one I’ve ever been in my question was “Who is your favorite Admin?” and so there I was being promoted to Mod! Then bam life, now I say life because I never really went into detail as to why I left again but I have decided to do that now. I was in a horrible abusive relationship I was treated so wrong emotionally and physically and I had nobody to talk to so I took it out on my fellow staff members. I had an absolute horrible job where I was never appreciated and was constantly told how horrible I was doing. I finally said enough is enough and that I needed to do something with my life nobody deserves that and so I quit my horrible job, left my horrible relationship, and applied to Walt Disney World. Sounds weird saying it like that but it honestly happened just like that all in a manner of like two weeks. I moved back into my parents’ house for about 5 days then I moved to Florida. Having all these interviews on Meep really prepared me for my interview at Disney. I got the job right off the bat I was soooo excited. But unfortunately with moving to a new state, getting a new job, and living in a new place that I was unfamiliar with I was still so stressed and decided to resign once again.
I was a burden, I was slacking pretty badly, and I picked fights with some of my fellow staff members. I deeply regret all the bickering and stress that I put onto the team when I was there I was not an asset and I am glad I decided to do right by them and resign before I really messed up. Klutch and I even had it out on skype because I was a drama queen short thereafter but we’ve made up and it has blown over. I used to be a ray of sunshine Castro used to call me before it all went downhill and I believe that people began to see a side of me that isn’t like myself and I want the chance to show you who I am for real. I never wanted to resign but sometimes you just have to so you can get everything in your life in order. I told Reggles a long time ago that I was here for the long haul and I intend to keep that promise it just took me awhile to get there, even though he is no longer staff. It’s been almost an entire year since then and after I resigned I went inactive for quite a long time but I can’t tell you how much I needed it. Yes, before you point out the obvious most of my why section is about my past as staff but that is what I felt that the community deserved to know as to why my resignations happened the way they did and how the same reasons won’t allow me to resign again. Now before you ask “what makes us think that you won’t resign again?” You don’t, honestly I don’t nobody does but don’t let that scare you into thinking I am not fit for the job or that I am only going to be here for a few months. I’m applying because I feel that my time away from MeepCraft has extensively helped me for the better and I couldn’t be more excited to get back to what I have done best. I can honestly say the Courtney who used to play a year ago isn’t the same one I am now. I did tell myself and others that I would never apply again and just try not to want to be staff again but who am I kidding I knew I couldn’t stay away for long. Why do I want to be helper? I have wanted nothing but to be a helper/mod again and I want to do everything in my power to prove that I deserve another chance my last chance to do right this time by the server and by the community. I do remember most of how staff operates and commands but I know a lot has changed and I am going into this with the mindset that everything is different. It started changing before I left like Trello good god I didn’t understand how that worked and that added onto my stress and my attitude. So I would need to be re-trained and be re-taught things so I can better understand them since it has been way too long. I have been fairly active in all aspects of the server these past few weeks/months and I will continue to be if I get accepted again or not. TS I haven’t been on as much as people probably would like but I do have it and I have been getting on. Majority of the modreqs you handle consist of questions that do not require staff perms anyways so I know that I could still help but at the end of the day it isn’t enough and I wish to do more.

What are your weaknesses? -I am rough, I have a backbone, I don’t let people run over me like I used to. I have a very strong opinion but I think having one isn’t always a bad thing either unless it’s for the wrong reasons which I have learned how to use my voice efficiently and for the better. But I am also very laid back and calm, something I’ve learned too since getting rid of the nasty stress in my life.
-I work a full-time job, I am off on Tuesdays and Wednesdays which would mean those days I would be 100% active the other days depend on my schedule I usually have mornings off and work nights but that changes week to week and some days ill work mornings and have the entire night off. Like stated before there is nothing standing in between me this time and absolutely no stressors so I intend to give it my all.
-I will also never ever forget what Kari once told me that I have an extremely emotional attachment to the players, which I do but I don’t think of it as a bad thing either. I try to make friends with everybody and/or try to make up with people I may have had a run in with in the past. My emotions used to get the best of me and that is something I have learned to control. I do not get overwhelmed anymore over things I can’t control or little things that don’t matter.

Please give any other information you might think is useful for us to know: I really do appreciate this opportunity and chance to do something for this server again if I am granted it or not. I am so thankful for the community and all the kind words from everybody the years I have been on MeepCraft. You are all so wonderful and I can’t want to have the chance to help all of you again in any way shape or form. If you need anything I will be here on forums or you can add me on skype courtneyyy1201.

    Introduction

Well to be honest, I’ve written an introduction quite a few times and I’m running out of ways to repeat the same information. In the interest of expressing who I am, I’m choosing to re-use essentially the last introduction, with some differences, because out of all my applications, I feel that those words express who I am much better than if I were attempt to give you the same information today. My name is Matt Sawyer,I have four children, three girls and a boy, and I’ve been lucky to be married for over a decade.

I began using computers at the age of 6, with the help of my father. He introduced me to something called "BBS" which was quite literally formed most of my life, childhood and adult. A BBS was something that primarily existed before the World Wide Web, using a text based platform to offer services such as text rpg games, text games, chat rooms, ftp service, and more. I spent a great deal of my childhood on BBS, until I found MUD. A Mud is another text based (Generally RPG) game that came into occurrence during the early days of the web. This offered a greater player base (400-1000) and a different play on classic games. The reason why I included this to make a valuable point, I believe; I have spent many years playing different games, all with great communities, and gameplays.

However MeepCraft is something that I've discovered that is entirely different. This community ends up turning into a pseudo-family, where most communities I've left I've never retained friends from. MeepCraft I've met many players that I truly consider my friend, and I hold a special place in my heart for them. MeepCraft, and it's community is special. Recently this reason became more real to me, as a good friend of mine, is less than two weeks away from shipping off to Basic Training, and I had done something else I had not done before, I gave him my address to write to me. Never before in any online community have I ever released that kind of information to another person. I honestly never expected to in this community, certainly, but it just goes to further show that this community is at the very least rare.

    Why I should be mod

Being a helper for these two short weeks, I have learned and relearned many things. There is a vital importance to not only answering a player’s question, but teaching them the things that are around the question. I found I still really enjoy interacting with the player base on an individual level, as before I got sucked into the negativity of the group interaction of shout. I have relearned the satisfaction you get when helping to take something a player is confused about, and turn it into something they get into, and begin to enjoy. Additionally, as a helper I have shown myself that I am capable of the things that I have preached, and shown myself that good customer service is the great quality a staff member should have, because of it’s vital importance in every interaction you have as a staff and representative of MeepCraft. That includes not walking away from an issue or forgetting a player mid conversation;treat them how you would a real customer, because in a lot of ways they are. Most importantly, I’ve learned that you must always apologize to the player for a mistake you’ve made, because it shows them you care about their situation, and their opinion in the least, and that you’re always looking to improve.

I believe I am prepared for the moderator position because in addition to being able to bring the good customer service skills I’ve honed as a helper to new areas of responsibility; I will still be able to be there to fulfill the roles a helper does. I understand that the moderator role has more responsibility over a much greater area of the server; which some I am more suited for than others. I believe the biggest role a moderator has in that of mentor, more specifically to the helper. Moderators should certainly be assisting in the proper flow of modreq/forum report completion, but additionally they should be the first line of teaching, and standards, that a helper receives.

As a moderator you are given more tools to accomplish additional tasks, such as finding x-rayers. I have a significant amount of experience in this area, being able to quickly identify and track any signs of x-ray that appear across the game. In addition, due to MN, I have vast experience identifying any signs that can indicate improper gameplay, or to identify things that have such a potential; I also can work calmly and quickly in any situations where a glitch or hack is exploited in a mass scale suddenly, as has happened before.

But I do not believe banning is the only part moderating, I believe it is a last resort. I understand the need to issue bans in the context of massive, or otherwise heinous actions, but in many minor cases I always try to work toward a resolution that does not result in a removal of a player. In many public instances of moderation, a wise man taught me it is often much better to send a message to a player in private when you’re looking for cooperation in ceasing action, and I pride myself on taking the opportunity to resolve a problem with communication instead of a ban. It’s hard for me to explain everything I can do or think when regarding what a moderator does, but it is essentially that the key in moderator is moderation. I want to bring moderation into moderating as well as working as a mentor to new helpers, and the community in general about MeepCraft, and staffing.

Another reason I feel I should be moderator is because I will have a greater influence on the direction of MeepCraft. I’m sure to the annoyance of some of my counterparts, I get pretty spammy when it comes to suggesting things. I believe in this because I think the minute we stop looking to improve, then we’ll begin degrading. I always look at the systems and ask, What can we do better, more efficiently? Efficiency let’s staff spend their time doing other productive things, or even giving them a chance to take a much needed break. Additionally it helps the players get quick results on issues, requests, or other things they are looking to achieve. This means I am open to review anything, be it something the server, or I do; to hear complaints, and counter arguments to something in a constructive manner, because even if I disagree, I don’t dismiss their words

    Weaknesses

Teamspeak: I lack activity in this, and it is something that I do need to improve. It’s not necessarily I have any complaints about using it, I just often am much more comfortable communicating via a text format, as it’s easier to control and retain the information given. Due to the hectic house as well, I’m limited to nights, and by that time comes, I get involved in something else. But I will be improving this activity henceforth.

PvP: I admit my last great stints as staff, PVP was not a major part of the server, and not knowing the intricacies wasn’t that big of a deal. However things have changed and I have found myself at a disadvantage of being able to not moderate it as effectively as I could be. To resolve this I have been learning the nuances of pvp, and to the aid of moderation, signs of hacking, etc to better help me in doing my job in these areas.

Blunt & Critical: I can be critical, and not just other people, as I am often just as critical of myself. However, often times it comes out much more acute than I intend, and it often sends the wrong message. To counter this I have been trying to over explain my position, about why I think something is wrong how I came to think that way. This is still often a work in progress, but I realize the significance of this as a staff member. Alongside critical, in general my words can come across much more bluntly than I intended, but I equally understand the importance of this, and I continuously work to mind this particular shortcoming.

    Conclusion

In conclusion, I have learned and relearned many things and I expect to learn many more. I feel that I could accomplish more tasks with the title, clout, and tools of a moderator. I understand what the job is and I intend to do it with 100% just as I have done the job of a helper. I appreciate the time you’ve taken to read this, and thank you for your consideration.

    About myself:

My name is Dan and I have been playing on this server for the better part of a year and a half. I have been playing on this server through good times and bad times (CG era). I am 19 years old and I am currently taking prerequisite courses for pharmacy school, which I will be attending in a year from now. I then plan on attending medical school. I enjoy playing golf or partaking in other physical activities but I also like to play games.

Why you should be Helper/Mod/Supermod ?

I am going to be honest with you all, I am not putting as much effort as I could in this application. Fuzzlr and some other staff members know how I handle problems and what type of qualities I bring to the table. That being said, I will go into further detail incase some do not know what to expect of me.

As moderator I focus on maintaing legitimacy to the economy. My main goal is to remove players that are cheating and I am very good at this. I have caught many dupers and xrayers alike and I wish to share my knowledge with the current staff. I will not lie to you, I am not the greatest at modreqs but I will complete them despite the fact I feel as if my time is better spent elsewhere.

    Past experiences:

I have been a staff member on this server on and off for around a year. At one point I was in charge of handling donations manually, staff promotions/demotions, forums promotions/demotions and forum moderating. I am very familiar with Xenforo and I know how to use Admin Control Panel flawlessly. I had a great deal of responsibility at this particular juncture and I still managed to complete refunds to players if they were griefed or rank scammed.

Finally, I will also bring a voice to the staff. I am not afraid of confronting someone (superiors alike) if I see or hear something that in my mind is not a logical decision. Debate is healthy and I find if there is a civilized debate issues can be solved with a much better resolution.

    Weaknesses:

I am completely new to HawkEye. While I was a moderator I strictly used logblock but I am sure I can adjust just fine. In addition to my lack of knowledge with HawkEye, I am not bothered by insults from other players. This can be seen as letting someone disrespect a staff member but I am not insulted by someone on the internet because it is insignificant. Finally, I am not known for completing many modreqs. I get the job done but I focus on the line of work in which I enjoy; that being catching xrayers.

    Conclusion:

Most of you know what you will get so please consider this application.

Introduction: Hello, I’m Cherrykit (or Cherry), though some of you will probably know me as Versus. I currently live in Germany, yet I have lived in England in the past and enjoy talking English. I’m in 11th grade, but since I don’t really enjoy school I focus most of my free time on other things. I started going to university last year, where I am currently taking classes in maths and computer sciences.
In my free time, I have always greatly enjoyed learning and creating things. Due to that, I started looking into coding some two years ago and was quickly fascinated by the amount of things that were possible should I continue to learn more – which I gladly did. In addition to that, I also like drawing, reading, playing video games, going swimming and listening to music to relax and take breaks from working.
I joined Meepcraft in May 2014, and found myself hooked instantly – mainly due to the warm welcome the community gave me, as well as being able to talk English on the server. While I have not played the entire time, I have stayed on the forums and went in-game regularly to stay in touch with the community. I recently rejoined due to the reset and have been coming in-game almost every day ever since.

Please describe your experience as a developer. I first looked into developing when I learned how to use HTML to make simple websites in school about 2 years ago. As only making websites seemed a little restricting to me, I started learning Java at home. Since then, I have been making my own simple games together with my IT class in school and at home by myself. Soon I started to look more closely at game development and learned C# to use a software known as Unity3D, which would let me make my own games. While I never made a whole game, I did work on several small scenes and gained some experience with using various API’s in my code.
I have been wanting to learn to make minecraft plugins for a while, however I postponed learning this due to my efforts to work with Unity. I have recently started working with the Bukkit API to make my own plugins, my first plugin implementing a command which lets players set a nickname at the cost of a name tag. Since then I have been playing around with the different possibilities the API offers and looking into using SQL databases to store data for my plugins. In future, I will continue to learn more about databases, since it is this terms topic of my advanced IT class in school.

What programming languages are you familiar with? Java, C#, Pascal

What are you most proud of as your work as a developer? While I think I felt proudest after finishing the first little application I made (which was a simple Tic Tac Toe game), when I look back now, I believe I am proudest of a little scene of a game I recreated in Unity. In a book I read about developing games using the software, there was a link to a little example game included. Using the graphics of this game, I rewrote the code independently and extended the scene with a couple of my own features. I feel I am most proud of this because it is the most challenging single project I have finished since it took me a long time to learn everything I needed for it. Here is a link to me playing it (the cursor can’t be seen in the video for some reason):

How do you plan to enrich the experience of MeepCraft with your development contributions? I would like to start by helping to fix any bugs or errors that are present in the current plugins. This is because I have seen how many issues are constantly being found while I was a moderator, and now there are constantly new ones currently being reported due to the recent reset. By doing this, I can learn about the structure and function of the plugins currently used by the server. This would then help me in the future when developing my own code, since I would have a more solid idea of the standards I would have to meet.
Since I like having a challenge and learning while coding, I won’t mind working on projects in areas I have not yet got any experience in. Due to this, I do not want to restrict myself to working in a certain area or on a certain aspect of the server, but instead I plan to focus on what staff deem most important. While working as a developer, I will be able to dedicate more time to the server than I currently do, since I prioritize coding over playing the game.

Do you have a GitHub account or personal website? If so, please provide the link(s) here. Here is a link to my GitHub account with some of the minecraft plugins I have made so far: cherrykit (Cherry) · GitHub

    When did you join Meepcraft? July 17, 2015 (In-game) & July 26, 2015 (Forums)

Introduction: Hi! My name is Evelyn, but you may know me as Lady or Cass in-game, and Elsa on the forums. I am a freshman in high school, and my favorite subject is math. I don't love sports, but badminton is my favorite. Last year, my partner and I played #2 varsity doubles for our school, and in the final doubles competition we placed first. I also love music; I don't play an instrument at the current moment, but I love to sing. I've sung a couple times in the worship team at my church. In my free time, I like to doodle, make origami, and do some 3D-modeling using CAD.

I found Meep through an in-real-life friend. I tutored him in Spanish and Math. He showed me Meep sometime around February 2015, and because of my surprising love for eco games, I told myself I would look into it. I didn't actually play a lot of MineCraft at the time, and I only resumed after almost a year and a half hiatus from it to try Meep out. As soon as I got on, I got hooked really fast. I didn't know the community well, nor was it my priority. But the community was gracious enough to grant me VIP, and from then on I became more and more involved with it.

Why should you be Helper? Helpfulness and Involvement - Cheesy and overused as it sounds, I genuinely like to help people, even if it comes with sacrifices. I don't like to see a question go unanswered in /g, because it feels as if the person who asks the question is ignored, and there is no one to confirm whether or not it's because the question is overlooked or that people don't know the answer to it. I'm also usually pretty chatty in /g. If I'm online but not talking so often in /g, I'm either listening/talking to people on TeamSpeak or messaging someone personally. If I'm not in-game, I'm very likely to be on the forums. I'm almost here 24/7, so I know if something happens pretty fast.

Dedication - Meep is the one server that I play. No other server has given me the opportunity to talk to others, connect, and build relationships like Meep has. I hope that by becoming helper I can also get other people to have the same experience that I had.

Tolerance - I am not easily offended by what people say. I have enough patience to deal with people who need others to get through to them, as well as the right mindset of how to treat others who may not have the same values or morals as I do.

What are your weaknesses? Forgetfulness - This should speak for itself; I have a bad tendency to forget things easily, whether be it an assignment or a simple task. Hopefully I can train my mind to remember things on a more consistent basis so that this wouldn't be so much of an issue in the future.

Misreading/mishearing things - Occasionally in /g you might see me accidentally say "Cya!" when a person says "Back Meep!" because I read too fast and assume that "Back" is "Bai" or something similar. I have a bad habit of skimming chat, seeing a question while half-paying attention to it, answer it, and move on with what I'm doing. I will promise to double check that what I'm answering is right, so that I don't mislead anyone.

Teamspeak - My parents don't allow TeamSpeak, or any such form of communication that would allow me to speak to any one on the internet without knowing them in real life. I understand their concern. But if I get accepted, I will try my best to find a good time when I'm home alone so that I can do an interview.

Please give any other information you might think is useful for us to know: You all know me very well by my "likespam"; that I've likebotted so many people, that I've given out thousands of likes so that people's like counts have shot through the roof. I even put my location as "The Likebot Queen". It probably built half of my reputation on the forums. As of lately, I have stopped going to the extremes of liking people's posts because I spent too much time and effort trying to make the numbers go up drastically. Also, it was somewhat breaking the rules about the forums; I'm incredibly grateful that staff have been lenient and not banned me yet. I may occasionally drop a couple likes at once on someone's profile, but I won't go so far as I've done in the past.

Thank you for reading my application. Feel free to post your response below, I would love to hear it!

Have you ever been staff on this or any other server? Yes

Introduction: Hello there! I would like to assume that many of you know me, but it is a bad thing to assume, so for those who don’t, I will take time to introduce myself.

My name is Boo, Boo-Bear, or Boo-Bear1227. Call me what you will. I’m a Senior in high school (grade 12), about to graduate in “T minus 70 days,” and I am looking at attending a private Jesuit college in the fall. I am eighteen years old, and I enjoy a surplus of activities.

I enjoy doing things that make a difference to others. It is not for the accolades or recognition, but because it is the right thing to do. My parents have made it a priority to instill in me the sense of duty that comes with being a part of the community in which we live and as part of being a well-rounded person. I am truly grateful for what I have and am ever mindful how quickly circumstances can change. My personal philosophy is that I should try to make a difference rather than trying to make a point.

I have volunteered for yearly clean-ups of local parks, at Bandimere Speedway for charity, the Butterfly Pavilion, coaching gymnastics for Special Olympics, meals and activities at Ronald McDonald House, packed care packages for several organizations, and many other worthy causes. I have also been in leadership rolls as a camp counselor at a camp in the mountains for three years. This summer will be four (I am not going to be staff at camp this summer due to health issues, but I will still be a volunteer there hopefully). Other leadership comes from Girl Scouts, Link Crew, being the National Honors Society president, the vice-president of Future Business Leaders of America, and of course MeepCraft.

I got interested in MineCraft about two to three years ago, playing single-player worlds. Yet, I had not found an adequate amount of joy in playing by myself, or the occasional LAN with my brother; needless to say, I needed a change. Thus, I started looking around different websites, and came upon MeepCraft – a towny server. (I was never really interested in PvP, or Factions, or any of the other hoopla.) My /res date before the restart, was Tuesday, April 6th, 2013. This would mean that I have been on MeepCraft for roughly twenty-three months.

After being urged to apply for staff, I’ve weighed the pros and cons and decided that merely applying cannot hurt me. As well, after about two months, I think I’ve taken a long enough break. I also feel refreshed and ready to return to the team, if permitted. Let’s give this a go; shall we?

Why you should be Helper? I’ll start with my history here on MeepCraft and past positions and work around everything.

    Experience:
A little more than sixteen months ago, I applied for, and received, the “Helper” position and stayed happily there for eleven weeks. I decided to apply for “Moderator.” I enjoyed being a Moderator for a few months and helping around with higher tasks on the team. I was offered the Super-Mod position May 22nd, 2014 at 4pm, and I gladly accepted the position as a challenge. I left to go help at camp in the middles of June. I was in and out as a Super-Mod due to camp.
I officially came back around the middle of July to see Reggles become a Super-Mod and Slicks an Admin. A few weeks come and go, then I get extremely ill with no way to tell staff members. I then have family emergencies arise. Again, no way to tell staff members.

November 3rd, 2014 comes around, and I’m devastated about being so inactive - I lost my rank as a Super-Mod. I cannot even explain how emotionally wrecked I became after hearing the news at school sitting in English 12. Seeing my phone light up with messages of “OMG WHAT HAPPENED” and “I’m so sorry” and a few other messages that just broke my heart or ripped it into little pieces and let them fly away in the wind. I was very angry/sad as a staff member and really just fell into a state where I felt no longer needed anywhere in the world. (I locked myself in my bathroom and cried over a silly little game. How crazy of me…) I kind of said “suck it up buttercup” and just talked/ranted it out with a few High-Ranks. (Let me tell you that I don’t think that went over well.) A few other incidents happened, and I got enraged how people were acting and saying to the community and other staff members. I eventually stopped talking to most staff members and just did my duty and helped the community. Weeks pass by, and I decided I needed a break. I couldn’t handle the mental/emotional/physical drainage and drama that I had gone through in those fourteen months. I resigned from my Moderator position and took a small break from MeepCraft/MineCraft.

I came back for a day or two, and then another family emergency/issue happened to the point that I couldn’t play MeepCraft/MineCraft at all because I was so worried and mentally questioning everything I did. Watching my brother constantly. I popped in and out of Meep occasionally during this time.

Now that I’ve settled those issues and we have a rhythm/schedule down, I have returned to Meep. I know I’ve been gone for quite a while (two to three weeks), and I haven’t been talking in game much. I really just shut down after the family issue, and I didn’t really talk to too many people, nor did I want to talk. I’ve been kind of walking through MeepCraft recently for about a weekish. I have completely come back to Meep, although there may be some days where I can’t get online at all.

    Work Ethic
Outside of the gaming world, I have reached the top one percentile in my graduating class with taking AP and honor classes. I have achieved an un-weighted GPA of 4.0 with a weighted GPA of 4.691 (both cumulative). I try and do my upmost to go above and beyond what I am asked to do.

    Dedication
Dedication to MeepCraft can be seen in many forms, and can be understood as several different things to different people. In my opinion, dedication is defined as being devoted to a task or purpose, or having single-minded loyalty or integrity. I have demonstrated dedication in a multitude of ways, but I would like to discuss two of them at this time.

Over the last twenty-three months, since joining Towny, I have only been in three, technically four towns. The first town was run by a friend of my brother. Even though I was immediately moved to assistant because of the relationship, I understood the powers and rules that had come with such a high ranking position in a town. As I had grown to show more promise in being assistant, I moved up from having menial tasks, to having more of a major role in the town. The second town was on old Meep, known as Ezri back then, ran by two people who have helped me expand today. I became assistant in a matter of days of joining that town because I had previous experience with the mayor and helping him build the town so it could open. The third town, again named Ezri, was under the same staff with a few additions who have made me grow as a person. The fourth town, you guessed it, is Dax. I think I’ve had some of the best memories on Meep in Dax.

As an ex-staff-member, I’ve only ever been staff on MeepCraft. I’ve been offered several positions on different servers but refused to take them. MeepCraft is my home and where I feel comfortable. I step out of my comfort zone in life enough as is, and would love to stay in it online.

I think there are more reasons as to why I "should" be a helper; however, I believe I have listed enough for now.

What are your weaknesses? I was able to identify several weaknesses at this point. I know I have more, because who doesn’t? Let me know below if you have seen another weakness that I may have missed and need to work on. I want to improve these weaknesses the best that I can, to the ability that I can handle without going on full overdrive.

    Mic/Teamspeak Activity:
My TeamSpeak activity is not the best in the world, and some of that comes from not many people being on/ not being comfortable with jumping in and talking to people over a mic that I don’t know. I am not a huge fan of talking to people I do not know in person. One part is that a lot of people judge by the other part of this being that I am very insecure about how my voice sounds. The insecurity about my voice comes from several different areas. Moreover, my normal voice leads people to believe that I am younger than I say I am. It sounds more ‘little-kidish’ because I have short stature, coming in at a whopping five feet at the age of eighteen. I always feel that people will judge me inaccurately if I have a voice of a younger teenager, instead of the voice of an older teenager/adult.

I am also trying to come out and say more when I think I have something important to add to the discussion. If anyone has anything that might be able to help me out with this weakness/insecurity, please let me know. I would love to improve on this!

    Inactivity:
Inactivity breaks down into three sections, and the first two are major priorities as the third one will soon be fixed.

    The Reoccurring ‘Illness:’
I have had an un-diagnosed medical condition since the third grade. I have seen several doctors at the Children's Hospital in Colorado) and the National Institute of Health in Maryland, USA. So far, there have been no possible diagnoses even though several doctors have tried. Every other week, I get severely sick with a fever ranging from 90 to 108 degrees Fahrenheit (33 degrees Celsius to 42 degrees Celsius) with severe headaches and backaches. During this time, I sleep. My recorded highest duration of sleeping is 104 hours (4.33 days). This means no waking up, no eating, nothing that a normal human being would do. Unfortunately, this places a heavy restriction on any and all activity.

The next step is to travel to the World Health Organization in Israel, but that has not been an option recently due to social and political unrest in the Middle East.

    AP Classes:
I decided to take 3 Advanced Placement classes and 2 honors classes this year. This can sometimes affect my activity in game due to the amount of homework I get from each class.

Something that does help with this insane amount of work is that my classes are split into A-Days and B-Days. This translates into having only half my classes on A-Days and the other half on B-Days, with them switching off every other day. I have my two easy classes on one day, then my three hardest classes on the other day. I currently don’t have much work to do as we are finishing out our learning for the year, and AP tests are in May (all of April is studying). Of course, this homework load only affects my in-game activity; I can still be on the forums and on TeamSpeak and still be as successful as I can be.

I have learned how to adjust my time accordingly (time-management) and how to supply enough time for each subject.

    Overall:
Before you go “-1”ing my application because I’ve been “gone,” I would like a chance to explain why I was gone. If you look back up to my experience section, I had mentioned why I was gone for two to three weeks. I know I’ve “recently returned,” but I haven’t really been gone. I’ve been stalking forums almost daily, in-game was every once and awhile, and I just recently have been getting back on to TeamSpeak.

I am steadily working on this. I’ve been playing quite a bit over the last few days. While I have not been in shout much (normally topics don’t interest me too much), I’ve been around, getting re-acclimated to Meep, how it works, and what to do while not being a staff member. I’ve found myself doing /check in-game too often. It’s just muscle memory that I cannot get out of for some reason.

Please give any other information you might think is useful for us to know: I would like to thank you for reading this application and really considering everything in play. I completely understand if I am denied (hoping for the best that I won’t be) because of my absence and what I have unveiled as my emotions from events that happened as staff. Regardless the rank, I love helping out this fantastic community every way possible.

Remember, if you have any comments/questions that I can help clarify, please leave them down below, or feel free to message me in any means.

    Again, thanks for reading!

    Have a great day!

*I apologize for any grammatical errors.*

You are still active staff on a crappy server until the 28th apparently.

On that note, it would be outright stupid to accept staff from a competitor that soon after and I would personally not accept anyone from any competitor for a period of three months, to be safe. There was a fair share of shady things originating from that server, I wouldn't let them into your home right after.

When did you join Meepcraft? July 2013

Introduction: Hi guys! My name is Hestia, and I love meeting new people so if you don’t know me already please message me on the forums here, in game, or come talk to me on TS! I’m 15 now, but I’ll turn 16 in just another month and I can't wait! I’ll be finishing my Sophomore year of High School soon and next year I’ll be taking three AP classes along with some additional Honors classes. Even though normally I find myself sometimes struggling in AP US History, I love learning about the 1960’s and think the Cold War and Vietnam War have lessons that anyone can learn from. I am a fan of the beat generation and adore anything from Allen Ginsberg. His poetry is beautiful and it inspired me to write my own poems in my free time. Ginsberg's poem, "Plutonian Ode," says, "Magnetize this howl with heartless compassion, destroy / this mountain of Plutonium with ordinary mind / and body speech." He is condemning the nuclear arms race of the 70s. He is using beautifully crafted literary devices, such as verbal irony and oxymoron, to persuade the reader to agree. It's political art which fascinates me to no end. One of my two biggest dreams is to play bass in the pit orchestra of a beloved show such as my current favorite show, Hamilton. My other dream is to someday win a Grammy for the music I write. I am a very creative person person and music is my outlet whether I'm singing, playing the bass, writing orchestral symphonies, jazz, and pop rock, or picking up a new instrument to learn. I want to make my mark in music history and to win a Grammy is a symbol of that.

    My Meepcraft History:
I joined Meepcraft during my Summer break in July 2013. My parents had bought me Minecraft the January before because I was sick and out of school. I had a mystery illness that prevented me from being able to go to school, so I turned to Meep for my need to be social. Meepcraft helped me keep my thoughts away from the physical pain I was going through, and I loved being here so much that I applied for Helper three months later. Surprisingly, this new citizen who knew nothing about the server, and was only a New Member on forums, was chosen to join the staff team. I was ecstatic. However it quickly faded as my period of staff came crashing down due to my immaturity, and I was demoted. I was crushed. I went through the process of reapplying for staff every two-weeks, just to always be faced with denials. I felt so bad that I left Meepcraft for a few months after that. Since December 2014 I’ve been back though and I feel I’ve been a constant presence on the server, even though some months I’ve been away since I was busy at the time. I could never leave the place that helped me through such a hard part of life.

Why should you be Helper? Why do I want to be Helper?
I love the server, I love helping people, I love the staff team, I could go on and on. I really want to give back to the server that changed who I am in all the best ways. I’m passionate about building and have applied for Architect in the past, but I know that my true calling was to be a Helper. Meep has taught me how to take responsibility for my actions, how to work as a team, and how to be friends with people of all ages.

Why do I deserve to be Helper?
-I’m a dedicated and hard worker: When I commit to something I make sure to give my very best every time.
    - I’m very familiar with the commands in all servers and I’m a fast learner so if there’s anything I don’t know I’m confident I can learn it thoroughly.
    - I’m very active on Teamspeak which I think is a large role of being a staff member: It allows the community to directly get help and lets the staff connect with players.
-I know that as staff we’re role models for the server and I will act professionally in all situations
    - I also have previous knowledge of how staff works from my last experience, and many friends on the current staff team who I find I can talk to easily and am comfortable asking for help, so the transition should be very easy for me.
    - I've been on this server for years, I know what works and what doesn't.
    - I am fluent in the proper way to handle a modreq
    - know my way around forums and even staff forums if not too much has been changed
    - I'm nearly always on either teamspeak or forums if I'm home.
-can use minechat but I know this is NOT something that can really be used for staff work that is anything more than answering people in shout or talking to them about an issue if they don't have forums or teamspeak
    - familiar with rules
    - I get along with people
    - I love working in a group
    - I'm very responsible, meepcraft has taught me how to own my actions, apologize, and move on, hopefully not making the same mistake again
    - I am verbally gifted making me very diplomatic
    - I have great patience for any kind of person or issue

What are your weaknesses? Oh Gosh, I have plenty of weaknesses so I am open to any suggestion you have to improvements :) If you have any other weaknesses you’d like to bring to my attention that aren’t listed below please speak up!
    Weakness: Maturity
Examples: I use /shout a lot and I make a lot of jokes that though appropriate would be distracting from my work as a staff member.
Solution: "Talk less, smile more, don’t let them know what I’m against or what I’m for." This quote from the Hamilton musical really speaks to me here and I think that it really applies to being a staff member. Especially if the players are being toxic. I see staff members give their opinion on the situation and often that is fuel on the fire. I know to either break it up in pm or use punitive measures to end it.
    Weakness: activity
Example: I am in high school and have plenty of homework as well as musical groups. I’m not going to be as active as some other staff members.
Solution: I’ll do more forums work to make up for the time I can’t spend in game.
    Weakness: working memory
Example: if you tell me to do something I may forget it or it may take longer for me to do a ban report because I'll constantly be flipping back and forth to remember what the name of a player is
Solution: I’ll write stuff down on a real life piece of paper so that I know that I need to be doing and I'll have a reference sheet for information. Plus, even though my working memory is terrible my short term and long term memory is great.

Please give any other information you might think is useful for us to know: Thank you for your consideration

    Introduction:

Hi everyone! :) I'm KariStar86, and I'm from North Carolina but grew up in Delaware. I first bought Minecraft to play online with one of my two younger brothers... only to find out that he doesn't play much anymore. I explored single player for a little bit until I decided to check out some multiplayer servers on my own. In February of this year, MeepCraft drew me in with its cute name and its Towny gameplay... and now the community has me hooked.

I've always enjoyed chatting with people online - a lot of that probably has to do with my comfort with writing. But there's also something about the way the Internet breaks down barriers and connects you with people you would have never talked to or even met otherwise. I used to play a game called The Sims Online, where I found a community similar to this one. They were tight-knit but welcoming, and they'd talk on a forum and then meet up in game to chat and play together. Since then, I've usually been a part of some online community or another, and I even met my husband through one of them!

I have spent most of my MeepCraft time on the Towny and Wild worlds, but I also have a lot of fun playing minigames, and I've made sure to try out all areas of the server so that I know my way around them. Since April, I have been the mayor of a town in alpha called Kakariko - the same town I joined when I first started playing. When I bought the town, it had about 12-14 residents. It now has nearly 30 and is still growing. Though it's hard sometimes, I try to make myself available to these residents for any questions they have or help they need.
    Why you should be Helper:

I actually wanted to become a Helper after just a few weeks on the server, but I always just wrote it off as something that wouldn't happen. I figured that others had more time and could do a better job than I would. Honestly, I think that's still true, but I'm not using it as an excuse anymore. I believe I would be an effective, dedicated staff member, and I'd really enjoy the job!

When modreqs pile up, or staff can't keep up with moderating chat, I start to wish I could just jump in to offer another pair of hands. I find myself answering questions and helping people when I'm bored, because I enjoy doing it... I remember how confusing Minecraft was when I first started, and even if you know the game well, joining a new server can disorient you. I appreciate the help and kindness I received from others, and I hope I've managed to pass that on.

I can explain things clearly and help solve problems diplomatically. I'm a quick learner, and if I'm confused about something, I'll ask questions and keep trying until I understand it.

Honesty and integrity are important to me, even in a video game, which could mean I'm not great at catching cheaters because I don't think like one. ;) But it also means that I'm not likely to abuse my powers, or favor some people over others when enforcing rules.

I don't hold grudges, and I like to see the good in people and encourage them. As cheesy as it sounds... I've seen what can happen when you just give people a chance and believe in them, and I know I appreciate when others have done that for me. I will speak up and take action when someone does something wrong, and I'm not going to ignore a pattern of bad behavior. But I won't hold someone's past against them unfairly or target them over a personal conflict.

Until recently, I worked as a newspaper reporter. The ideals of journalism really resonate with me... transparency, accountability, fairness, giving a voice to the voiceless, putting aside bias to look at all sides of an issue, and more. Getting criticized publicly was a daily part of the job, so I know how to handle it professionally, even if it stings. These days, I write for a nonprofit. My hours are somewhat flexible, but in general it's a 9-to-5 job and I won't be available during that time on weekdays (except on the forums and Skype if needed during breaks). One day a week (usually Fridays), I work from home, which gives me some more flexibility and extra time.

    Weaknesses:

I can be pretty argumentative and opinionated. I pick my battles and try to be kind and understanding... but I'm not shy about speaking my mind. This can be a good thing, but it becomes a weakness when I speak too harshly, push too far, ignore the appropriate time and place, or care more about being right than I do about other people. I understand that if I am accepted, I will have to approach disagreements with staff differently. The staff members are a team, and they need to be able to work together and not undermine each other. (I hope everyone reading this understands, too!) But I think open discussion is good and healthy - especially when people disagree but are willing to listen - and that's not going to change.

I also have a tendency speak or type without thinking, especially out of emotion. Sometimes, that means I just say something silly that doesn't make sense. But other times, I can be overly blunt, rude, or impatient. I have learned to hold my tongue (and fingers) a lot more over the years, so I'm not sure how noticeable it is here. With a staff title in front of my name, I'll have an added reason to pause and think.

Time management is another weakness, and this is the biggest reason why I've waited to apply. I already spend a lot more time on MeepCraft than I thought I would when I joined. I was worried that if I applied for staff, something would eventually suffer - my town and its residents, my staff duties, and/or my real life priorities. But Kakariko also now has an assistant, who has been very helpful, and I'll probably name at least one more - or even a co-mayor. I've been focusing more on certain IRL things recently, and I'm limiting my activity this week to do that. I'll still be playing and working on some projects, but I won't be hanging around as much just to chat for the next few days. This is basically to prove to myself that I'm capable of being an active staff member without being a no-lifer. ;)

    Conclusion:

I believe I am qualified and ready to become a Helper, and I'm excited to finally apply! To paraphrase something a wise person once told me... if I really want to do more to help this server, I might as well roll up my sleeves, apply for staff, and get to work! :)
