One thing just lead to another to another. Meep never learned its lessons when it should've, and this is the result. I don't regret the thousands of hours I spent browsing forums or playing the game and I've definitely learned a lot from the server and its people as a whole, but I don't think Meep learned. It was just one blow after another, some were inevitable, some were preventable but countless mistakes just lead to what we have here now. 2013's MN + CG was the first instance, where some questionable decisions were made and we started over anew from there. After that, we had ups and downs but EULA came, bugs, nothing getting done, and just rules being too strict and chasing away large portions of the playerbase. To top it all off, we didn't even learn from MN and had our servers reset, leading into Towny today with really nothing to do.
I'm thankful to Clue to all the work that he's done, as most the other staff who've done their part.
But I don't know if there's coming back from this one.
Meep was a community first and foremost, it wasn't always about the game. People had arguments, disagreements, etc. But in the end, people came back.
Without those people here, it's going to be extremely hard to pull off another revival. Minecraft as a whole isn't what it used to be for a lot of us, and I hate to be the pessimist here, but maybe it's just time.
